Here is an interview I had forgotten about:

GARRISON WELLS

Mark Redwine says he remains puzzled why his son Dylan would try to walk to a friend’s house because the terrain is rugged where he lives and the house is a few miles away.

The Colorado Springs 13-year-old disappeared
Nov. 19 from his father’s house in Vallecito, northeast of Durango, where he had been on a court-ordered visit.

“He was sleeping on the couch, and I told him I had to go about my errands,” Mark Redwine said in a Sunday telephone interview. “He said, ‘OK, I understand.’ The focus for him was to go to his friend’s, but I live far back in the canyon. There’s a substantial distance between my house and the lake, so it doesn’t make sense that he would walk out, but he’s a 13-year-old boy, and who knows what they think sometimes?”

...Mark Redwine said he would like to meet with his ex-wife but so far has not had success beyond the text messages.

“I don’t want to have dinner with her and become buddy, buddy, but as parents of a missing child, people need to know that we can put our differences aside and that we want our son back,” he said.
========================================================

THis ^^^ was the quote I was looking for previously. It is the same thing he said in his first statement to Tricia last week, about 'not going to dinner with Elaine and talking about old times...'

TxJan1971, 1) It was something about both EH and MR having Liaisons in LE that they each reported to, but I can't recall who said it...?

2) I looked for a script for the June 2nd interview just last night and couldn't find it. So I relistened to that show again.
Most of it was about attending mediation or MR's new found interest in searching for Dylan. But the part where MR describes events again might be interesting to transcribe. Ready for some more needles in the eyes?

:floorlaugh:

At the time, those words just "came out" because I didn't want to imagine having to transcribe MR ever again. After saying what I did about needles in my eyes, it was pretty stupid when you think about it. It should have been my EARS and not my eyes that felt like I was sticking needles in! (To justify it, however, I can say I still have to READ what was said as I type it so that's just as bad as HEARing it.) LOL

Thanks for the chuckle.

" ok,I understand" it seems a odd way for a 13 year old boy to speak . A bit too formal IMO

Does anyone know if there is an actual time frame released from LE of where Mark was in Durango at which time?

Thanks.

Maybe it was this:

In addition to advising on the investigation, Phippen said the FBI provided two victim specialists to help the family cope with the situation.

I transcribed the first half of Marks initial interview with Tricia. I finally had to stop because it was so time consuming and frustrating. :banghead:

It was way more specific... but THANKS for reminding me of that comment!

And it is in stark contrast to his initial versions od the story, that D was 'out like a light' and could not be woken up. Then suddenly, he is speaking and saying he 'understands.' :waitasec:

I totally understand! I'll give it a go in between other duties and hopefully be able to share soon.

I just want to thank you again for the work you do . It can not be easy as he goes around In circles when he rambles . It is so handy to have the transcripts when I have to prove something I have said . So it is much appreciated what you do for is all :)

No, but MR stated this on Dr. P:

DP:
Okay, and that morning, you got up and you went here – first to the payroll office

MR:
To my company’s office

DP:
Right, then you went to the attorney’s office…

MR:
Correct.

DP:
Then you ….made this kind of circuit uhhh… here…then this whole circuit that you went around was about – you were gone for about 4 hours, right?

MR:
I was gone for about 4 hours

DP:
So you saw him before you left.

MR:
I did, yes…

DP:
Which is about 7:30 ?

MR:
Approximately 7:30 in the morning when I did leave

Okay, I can't find the video to this if it was on this one to check. The vid I am looking for is the one just before the group went to MR's house I believe. It is the one MR has a gun on the table. Anyone have the link for this? TIA

You don't have to redo the portion I did, because I was very very exacting with Marks every syllable. I even transcribed his stutters and his ums and his "Ya Knows' ....but I paraphrased TG's questions and cut them down, for space.

I posted it in the Radio Thread already.

Dee,
Let me know if you need the transcript for the video Scorekeeper just posted. I believe it's the Melissa Blasius Interview w/ MR that you were talking about. I have that transcript if you need it (it may be posted on Media/Thread as well) - but if not, let me know what you're looking for specifically.

I am confused if he left at 7:30am then why did Dylan need to be at R's at 6:30am as that's a hour difference .

Also (this could just be me ) if MR was making that much noise then I don't see how Dylan could sleep though it . And if he did this for 45 mins ( I think I remember him giving this quote, sorry if its wrong) then surely Dylan would of given up on trying to get back to sleep ?!

Here's all the MSM articles about MR & his interaction with DR on Monday morning. I'm sure I may be missing a few more! :-)

Since I'm on an ipad - links available by request (which is why I #'d the articles)

1. Mark said he tried to wake his son the next morning around 7:30 before leaving to run errands, but Dylan was fast asleep

2. DENISE HESS: And that he had gotten up in the morning, stirred around the house, made some noise trying to get Dylan up, and Dylan didn’t want to get up and go into town at that time.

3. Mark Redwine said he was going to give Dylan a ride to his friends’ house and tried to wake him up when he left Monday morning but said Dylan was “out like a light.”

4. The next morning, Dad says at about 7:30 AM, Dylan was still asleep there on the couch. He'd had a bed made up for him there. He said Dylan apparently wanted to sleep in, so dad left, went to go run some errands.

5. “He was sleeping on the couch, and I told him I had to go about my errands,” Mark Redwine said in a Sunday telephone interview. “He said, “OK, I understand.” The focus for him was to go to his friend’s, but I live far back in the canyon.

6. "Before I left I nudged him on the shoulder and he acknowledged that he understood that I needed to leave, and if he needed anything, he would just call me."

7. "The next morning, Dylan was sleeping on the couch where Mark Redwine now sits and where Dylan's blankets still lie jumbled. Mark said he waited until 7:30 a.m. but still couldn't rouse his son, so he told him he would return about 11.

8. MR: You know, I spent 45 minutes… an hour… trying to get Dylan to wake up and, you know, and helping him… saying, you know, “Dylan, I’m going down,” ‘cos he had talked to me about going to see his friend, Ryan …that morning, but he wasn’t having no part of it… which is not uncommon for him. I mean, you can’t get him to bed and you can’t get him up. Pretty much how it is when he’s not at school to deal with, which is most of the time when he’s up here, although he had a school bus stop right down the street, so he could ride the bus from the school up here if I was home, or he could ride it to his mom’s house, which was a thing of beauty because her and I didn’t have to deal with transporting him
AND
MR: Yeah, “Dylan I’m leaving to go down to town and run my errands, if you need anything call me … call me when you get up… if there’s anything you need.” Never heard from him. I’ve sent him text messages, you know… asking him, “hey, Dude, are you up yet?” … you know, “Call me”… “Is there anything you need?”… and then… you know… by the time I got up here it was close to 11:30, probably…
