Not sure if it has been mentioned but there is a 14 year old girl missing from Thorton Colorado also. 14 year old Bryanna Barragan was last seen on 11/23/12

Dear Mods, can we please get a thread on this.

I just wanted to point out that we've known for a long time that there were no confirmed sightings after Sunday. That means that there probably ARE confirmed sightings on Sunday, or they'd probably say no confirmed sightings since he arrived at the airport. There were several reported sightings on Monday, but none checked out (they weren't confirmed). Even though MR saw (or has said he saw) him on Monday, there's nobody who can confirm it. MOO

I thought LE said they can only confirm he landed at the airport or made it to the county, something like that.

is Thorton close by?

Thornton is not very close by to Dylan. But from what I've come across in a precursory search, there is a striking similarity to another unsolved case around here.

They haven't said that again since asking people for videos, pictures, etc. The last thing posted here was just that they have no confirmed sightings since/after Sunday. I don't remember the exact wording, even if I did just read it a few minutes ago. :blushing:

I wonder where MR met up with Dylan at the airport? Did he pull up outside and Dylan met him outside of the terminal or did MR go in the airport. Either way, I know airport security cameras have been discussed at length, but I think info about how Dylan and MR were interacting from the get-go could be gleaned from that footage. Surely LE has it.....there's just no way you could be in or pulled up outside of an airport these days without a camera catching it.

Thank you. She is Beautiful and has not been seen since 11/23/12. May be with a juvenile male.

In fact 50% of marriages end in divorce in our country ( a very sad statistic for our country imo) yet very very few wind up even murdering the ex spouse or their children. Of course we have seen some because we are on message boards where they are discussed but when compared to the vast amount of divorces there are yearly its really very few in comparison to those who just go on with their lives. Usually if we see this though the parent who winds up killing the child and isnt with their ex anymore high tails it with the child or children and sometimes parent and child are later find dead or the child is. I have put up a link before though when it pretains to abduction of a child that winds up being murdered only 14% of the time is the child murdered by one of their parents.

Yet, you are right we have kept up with high profile cases right here of missing children and the parents had nothing to do with them being missing or being murdered although many were falsely accused at the time.

I really dont see a lot of stressors in this case. He wasnt denied his right to see his child. She had physical custody because Dylan lives with her...there is no sole custody in Colorado law. Dylan had not lived with him since 2007 so he knew the drill by now imo. Now he and his ex-wife dont see eye to eye .......not shocking in the least but they didnt have to be around each other either anymore.

He had just seen Dylan in September of this year when he flew out to stay with him. So it wasnt like it was the first time he had seen him since Dylan had moved.

IMO

1. It is logical to assume that Dad recently had his child support payments increased.
2. Dad recently lost shared custody of his son.
3. No news reporter is able to state that dad is employed and this MIGHT mean that dad is unemployed.

I believe from what I've read that she is suspected to be in the company of her boyfriend and that they were possibly headed for california. he was apparantly driving

Bingo, someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think we've heard the term "ruled out", right? (as we clearly heard in Jessica's case).

I know the comment you were addressing was about dad but on a somewhat seperate note, regarding how LE is handling this part of the investigation.... they haven't "ruled out" anyone. Or- they are choosing not to "rule out" individuals through public avenues, ie press releases, interviews, etc. Again, imo, this is probably just part of their overall strategy.

I think we see many missing children cases where LE communicates with the public and DOES clearly rule out RSO's, the parents, other family members, last people the child was seen with, any other usual suspects or anyone who they're able to definitively rule out.

That's not happening here. It does seem like they're not doing anything with the public in mind, which would indicate there's not a predator nearby or anywhere. jmo.

I have stated several times they need to go back to the water. I dont know why i feel so strongly or why i am even stating it. I just would feel better if there was a more thorough search of the water. I get that task could be daunting.

Yeah, I've had this feeling too. I don't think pointing toward the lake is a red herring. If Dylan were found there, along with the fishing pole, well, wouldn't be much of a surprise. It raises some questions, though.

Do people in that area do much night fishing? I know in the southern states that is a big thing and done with night lights floating in the water. My brothers and cousins would get all excited at the age of 13 about going night fishing at family get togethers at the lake. I just wonder if Dylan and his father were ever known to night fish in the past.

On whether there are any indications that Dylan was ever at the house Sunday night, I feel pretty sure questions about what they ate and did that night preceded searching for evidence like trash cans for said food wrappers and containers, dishes that might be dirty or freshly washed and still in a dishwasher/drainer, fingerprints or touch dna on items that would have been used like drinking glasses, doorknobs, even toilet handles.

Of course, what comes to MY mind at the thought of being asked those questions is that his "going to bed right away" after getting there would eliminate the need to answer many of those questions. :what:

That would be the way I read that. I've been reading each word and phrase that LE uses. Here's another one that concerns me:
“We are not calling Mark Redwine a suspect,” Sheriff’s spokesman Dan Bender said.
http://durangoherald.com/article/20...ors-searching-house-of-Dylan-Redwine’s-father

The inclusion of the word "calling" changes the meaning of the sentence to me. Why not just say he's not a suspect?
Agreed, and they haven't said he's not a POI, which is different (not to be nit-picky). He's obviously been a POI because he was the last to see Dylan and LE have searched his property, including his vehicles. LE often doesn't name a suspect until they're ready to make an arrest.

She has an acting and modeling profile online for the Denver area. So did Kara Nichols.
This is Dylan's thread, don't want to get off track, so will wait for a separate thread for further discussion on this.

Right, Bender the Lt for Sheriff said we know he arrived in la plata co and after that nothing is known.

Me too. They searched the south end. Why not search the north end? :banghead:

''“We do know he reached La Plata County,” Bender said. Beyond that, there isn’t much. '''

This sounds like NO to all of the questions of did anyone see him in the grocery store, at the gas station, at the drive thru, passing down the street,,,,,,,,,,, yikes :(

I believe LE is still analyzing video surveillance tapes. Depending on how much footage they have to go over (not to mention the quality of the footage), it could take days before there is a definitive answer regarding sightings (or lack of) after the airport.

You know what I just realized from your post.... they did rule out local RSO's. I think there were 2 in the immediate area. So they have ' ruled out ' someone,,,,,,,,,just not the parents.....yet . Curious .

It appears Bender said this Thursday:

There have been no clues or confirmed sightings of Dylan since Sunday night, Bender said, and such a lack of leads is unusual.

“That’s what’s made it such a frustrating case,” Bender said. “We had to check every single possibility.”

“We do know he reached La Plata County,” Bender said. Beyond that, there isn’t much.

Not sure if this was posted, it is a timeline for Dylan, I am playing catchup like crazy. Anyhow I did not know that Dylan was supposed to meet his friends in Bayfield at 6:30 am ?

Timeline of events in Dylan Redwine case

Day 1: Sunday, Nov. 18

Evening: Dylan arrives in Durango from Colorado Springs after 6th Judicial District Judge David Dickinson issued a court order granting Mark Redwine, Dylan’s father, visitation rights during the Thanksgiving holiday. Dylan sends his mother, Elaine, a text message that says he has arrived. Elaine Redwine tells The Durango Herald that Dylan’s text message ended with an emoticon that was interpreted as a scowl.

Day 2: Monday, Nov. 19

6:30 a.m.: According to Dylan’s friends, he was to meet them at this time in Bayfield. His friends say he did not show up.

7:30 a.m.: Mark Redwine says he left his house to run errands in Durango. This is the last time he saw Dylan.

11:30 a.m.: Mark Redwine says he returns home and finds that Dylan is gone.

2 p.m.: A postal worker may have seen Dylan walking on County Road 501 near Vallecito with another boy. Both reportedly were wearing hooded sweatshirts and had black backpacks.

Afternoon: Mark Redwine checks with Dylan’s friends when he does not find Dylan at his home and notifies Elaine Redwine that the teen is missing.

6 p.m.: Mark Redwine calls police to report Dylan missing. Shortly after, La Plata County Search and Rescue begins searching for Dylan in areas near County Road 500, where his father lives, north of Vallecito Reservoir.
