Unless either had an apple :floorlaugh: darned apple :banghead:

LOL Forgot that disclaimer... but that's probably because I refuse to own any Apple products so it just didn't come to mind.

Since father says he saw him in the morning, Dylan didn't do any late night fishing.

Totally understood! But what if someone convinced Dylan to get into a boat and go out on the lake Sunday night after 8:00p to do some late night fishing? If this is something he had done and enjoyed in the past, it might not be hard to convince him to do that. Especially if there was nothing else going on. Dad going to bed early and Dylan watching tv alone on the sofa seems so....abject....given the circumstances of his just having arrived.

The thing that, in my mind, makes this unlikely is the scent the dogs hit on out on open water was cadaver scent, not a living scent. So a sedating drug such as a roofie, followed by ( ugh ugh :( I really REALLY don't want to type this) a possible bloodless strangulation, then a trip out onto the lake by cover of darkness......

I hope Dylan's family are not reading here. My heart is with them all, all who are innocent of any harm to Dylan. My heart is also with Dylan, whether he is in heaven or on earth. Come home Dylan. Please come home.

Are we 100% certain that he had his charger with him? If he forgot his charger and his phone was dead in the morning, maybe he didn't use the landline because he doesn't have his friends' numbers memorized. I would be lost if I couldn't use my Contacts on my cell phone.

Can't you just use 411 for information? I mean seriously, what did we do before cell phones and we didnt know someones number?? Everyone knows 411 dont they? Or is that just in Canada?? :blushing:

I sure would like to know if Dad had internet service. Because all the scenarios of the dead phone wouldn't matter if Dad had internet and that Ipad or Ipod that LE took was working. Dylan would most likely have contacted his friends using that if his phone didn't work. And we do know that Dad did have a landline....although I agree that if my phone wasn't working I can think of 2 people that I could call whose numbers I have memorized.

I think it's more a type A/type B thing. I've often had to stop and buy a charger because I forgot it, but it was my only access to directions, contacts, where I was going, what time I was supposed to be there, etc.

I don't own a home phone, and my phone has everything on it. Appointments, maps, notes, numbers, even most of my gift cards are on my phone now.

I'm just very disorganized so I don't always keep as good track of things as I should.

Well, I don't know what to say, lol. This must be a major hassle in general, not just the cell phone. :what:

But most kids can and do identify and claim their cell charger without blinking. They can pick it out of a box FULL of chargers and get it right every time.
Mom said she sent Dylan with his phone charger.
Dad said when he reported Dylan missing that his phone and charger were with him.

I don' t think they had a 23 hr window--unless Dad was included.

An RSO or random abductor only had from 7:30 until 11:30 am. And they had to get Dylan to bring his backpack and most of his belongings along with him.

Yikes .. I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote that about 23 hours... I think what I meant was we have someone who picks Dylan up 6pm Sunday and reports him missing 5pm-ish Monday (23 hours) and realistically ALL of that time needs to be accounted for since Dylan can't be independently placed anywhere by anyone by any means. (Though I'm not sure how what I typed translates into that).

Depending on what LE can confirm, if they're chipping away at the time after Dylan landed in Durango (Walmart, McDonalds, where the cell last pinged around 8pm)..... Can dad's whereabouts be verified overnight?

I do think it's significant that he's been open to cooperation with LE, allowing them in his home... and vehicles.... so maybe there's nothing to hide... because there's no involvement at all... or maybe nothing happened in the house or the cars... in which case the searches done on Thursday will yield nothing and then tips from the hotline could be important as well as the video footage/photographs.

Everyone knows 411 dont they?

I doubt most kids even know what 411 is. I don't even remember the last time I used it - I just use the Internet to find a number.

411 works only on landline phones

But Dad saw him in the morning so we know this didn't happen. Or at least according to Dad.

You can use 411 for landlines not for cell phones. Almost everyone I know doesn't own a landline anymore, including myself.

411 is a great tool if you are looking for the number of someone who has a land line. No cell phone numbers.

JMO-Although there are unanswered questions about the cell phone(s), MR has cooperated fully and that speaks volumes. I live in Washington State.. when Sky went missing, JB went silent which was disturbing to most everyone. At least (thank goodness) there is full cooperation by both parents in DR's disappearance.

so do I but Im just saying if you dont have any internet connection and you only had a lan line.. I just think we are making too many excuses here for him not calling someone if he could have. KWIM JMO

I have to say more often than not, my husband has forgotten his charger at home when we go on vacation, and it isn't until the time we go to charge it that anyone knows he didn't bring it. Being a mother, that is not, nor would it be one of the things I would check when having my child pack for any trip(and yes even to there fathers). This is a common forgotten item, and if no one told her he had forgotten it, then she wouldn't know to look, and yes even now they probably wouldn't think about it, as it was reported missing with his phone.

"Do you have your phone and charger" is always the last thing I say to my boys if they are headed out somewhere without me. I'm really obsessive about maintaining contact when they are away and I don't accept any excuses.

We already heard people in the area say that its shotty at best so I doubt if that was true that no one would still have a lan line.. Just sayin. I dont think he called because I dont think he could and it wasnt bc of the reception. JMO

Actually, some cell providers also have 411. I can't remember if it was Sprint or Verizon where you'd dial 1-411.

This is what I keep saying. If he wanted to contact someone...ie Mom, Dad, friends and something was seriously wrong with his phone I do believe he had other means available to him. I would think the next best thing to cell phone is internet. Heck I can even send and receive texts through my carrier on their website.

Why did LE take that ipad/ipod? (can someone please clarify which it was for me?)

I understand what you mean but my point is that kids may not even know that "411" exists.

I think Verizon. I didn't know 411 could be used on landlines, I thought it was an old school cell thing from before cells had data plans. My early phones had 411 for sure, and I used verizon at that point.

We discuss possibilities here, right? If not, so sorry.

ETA: I know we don't discuss far out possibilities that are outlandish. I don't feel this is outlandish though, but this will be the last time I post about m. lions.

I don't think this comment was meant to be snarky :) I think she was just referring to what LE had said about this in a somewhat comical manner. Please, I personally am all for discussing the mtn lions. It is one that deserves ample discussion, in my opinion, due to the geography of this case, despite what LE has said (not saying that I don't trust what LE says, I'm just saying that sometimes its hard to interpret what they DO tell us...)
