If so, then Dad was lying to us. Because in his most recent interview he says that he promised he would return at 11 to give Dylan a ride, and that Dylan acknowledged everything he said.

If that is true, and Dylan thought his Dad was returning at 11, then I don't see why he would try and hitch a 20 mile ride. Especially without even speaking to his friends that morning.

I think I'd believe Dad's version rather than the speculation of someone who wasn't anywhere near there. I think people need to keep the few things we've been told and try to fill in the blanks, rather than changing the little we "know" to fit their ideas.

Just want to add that I know you weren't doing this katydid, but at this point people shouldn't even be putting that out there as an option. MOO

Mom early on told everyone (press) this was DR's favorite song. She even posted it. That is one song I would not want my missing son associated with. I can't imagine what she was thinking. That song is so depressing. Not the song so much as the video. jmo

Then surely they meant at 13 and not at 3 yrs old?

Ok, I missed that. Was that a video interview, or paper?

I will try and find the link...but it is the recent video interview I believe..

Am I misreading something... Friday was the 16th, he flew out on Sunday the 18th and disappeared on Monday the 19th (allegedly).

Sorry in advance if I'm confused... it's a frequent event in my life!

No... you are not missing anything. It was MY mistake. So sorry for all the confusion. You are right. It wasn't 2 days - it was one day.

So sorry - that makes more sense to me. Thanks!

I'm thinking if there is any video, it will probably be released today. Just seems to be the way things go. If they were reviewing video over the weekend, they maybe, hopefully, they will have something today. Crossing my fingers anyway.

Crossing my fingers, too, Salem!

Truly I'm not trying to sound snarky, but this is my honest, heart-felt thought.

She was thinking it was Dylan's favorite song. I've read that from multiple sources on the Find Dylan website. In fact, they are trying to get the group Puddle of Mudd to do something special in his honor.

It's not about what ER wants or what she thinks. It's all about what Dylan wants!

As a mom who took her son to see many bands when he was a young teenager - bands that he wanted to see - including Slipknot and Marilyn Manson, I have the utmost respect for ER's choice to honor Dylan with a song he loved regardless of what anyone else thinks.

Back when I was a teenager and now as the mom of a teenage boy, I can assure you teens like and need to sleep. My sons missed out on some great stuff he really wanted to do because he was too tired to get up and so have I.

I have 2 sons one a teen now and one in his 20's.
I know their sleep habits.
and I do believe they would get up and go to friends house instead of being stuck home with mom or dad.
JMO

When friends were involved they got right up if it was something they had to do with us they didnt want to get up and were tired!

Qur kids love us they just would rather be with friends!
We are boring!

I found this:
http://www.durangoherald.com/articl...ment-says-missing-teenager-did-not-run-away--

"Mark Redwine said he was going to give Dylan a ride to his friends’ house and tried to wake him up when he left Monday morning but said Dylan was “out like a light.”

That is MR's original version. Now he has elaborated. I am trying to find the transcript, but he now says he nudged him awake, and promised to return at 11.

Wait a minute here! I'm confused. Dad said Dylan was out like a light and then said he had a conversation with him about coming home in a bit and would then take him to his friends?

Yeah, that's what I thought. He's either out like a light or woke up to speak.
Can you be both at the same time? I guess that's a matter of opinion. But I do
agree that if he had big plans, waiting for 2 months for , with friends, that if he woke enough to say im still sleepy , then he woke enough to think OH snap, I gotta get to my friends, hold up dad, lemme go with you .

run on sentence above ^^^^^ I should be a reporter ! :)

Check the beginning of thread #6. I know we we're discussing yesterday AM.

yes. He said he was out like a light so he nudged him and he didn't want to get up. (paraphrased)

he also said he stirred around a bit to try to wake him up first.

nothing odd about that :twocents: (although i just sprinkle cold water on my tween boy that is one year older than Dylan hahaha)

That may not be so big a deal. The parents divorced 6 to 7 years ago. There ws no facebook prior to that and at that time Dylan was 6 or 7 years old so he wasnt taking pics with his phone, etc. Dad's probably NOT too advanced with the electronic age, like my own DH and doesnt' know how or care to upload pics. For all we know dad could have hundreds of actual photos in his house of himself and Dylan.
If he did you would think he might share one with the media,,,,,,but ........

You know that is an excellent point. I do not have one picture of my children with their dad after we divorced.

Could be both.. I've had "conversations" with my daughter in the am that she responded to, knowing darn well she is "out like a light" and won't remember a darn thing we talked about...

imo
