I should be working but instead I'm following Google Earth from MR's house to the Reservoir.

I have wondered if the clothes left behind, might have been some Dylan's father had bought for him at Walmart or had bought ahead as a present. What makes me think so, we heard some of his clothes were there, but his mom had to supply some for his scent. The new clothes would not work, not being worn.

One more thing about the clothes, I think he went missing in what he wore on the plane...and if that is the case, then could also explain the reason they didn't have any clothes at Marks house to have a GOOD scent to....as the other clothes haven't been worn since washing, but mom would have plenty of dirty clothes....that might explain the reason for him not having them.

Except for the very statistically unlikely coincidence of a missing child in that neighborhood with dogs tracking from the house to that very lake, a father who pointed to a missing fishing pole the first day with an insistence that same lake be searched and who continued to point back to the lake after they quit searching.

Other than that, no, nothing to suggest.....

IIRC, my understanding is this is not true and that the lake is four miles away from MR's house?

Someone correct me if I am wrong. I'd rather be corrected than continue to be wrong. TIA.

I just want to say to Imamaze thank you for the timeline. It is incredible and a valuable tool to staying straight with this case. Anything you want to know is there. All you have to do is search the thread to find it.

It would be good for everyone just to go back and read it. keeps things clear in your mind at least it does for me. Thanks again.

ITA and thank you Imamaze for the timeline with everything that's ever been published on Dylan's case. I check that timeline and re-read the summaries a few times daily. It's definetly a must for someone new to the threads and just as helpful to those of us who have been wading through the last 8 pages of chaos lol. Thank you and thanks vasportsmom for the timeline as well.

Also, even clothes left at the house HAD been worn by Dylan and HAD been brought with him this trip, if MR had washed them thoroughly after he disappeared and dried them with highly fragranced fabric softeners, I'm not sure they'd be useful for dogs.

He did have from 11:30 to 4:00 to "tidy up". Wash clothes, wash dishes, vacuum, etc.

I don't see why people keep throwing around the scenario of Dylan taking off to see friends. Isn't this the same as running away? His dad knew nothing of him leaving, so this would be RUNNING AWAY. Correct me if I am wrong. That is the way I see it. LE has been adamant that Dylan did NOT RUN AWAY, which throws out every scenario of Dylan leaving on his own.

Dad says there had been plans made for Dylan to spend two days with his friends. The plans were not yet set in stone, but dad most likely thought that Dylan had gotten a ride to his friend's house. It is not true that dad knew nothing about him leaving, according to dad. moo:moo:

I dont believe the dogs tracked him from the house to the lake.

I can't seem to cut/paste it but Google says 4.8 miles, 1 hour 33 minutes.

I was basing that on a post a page back that referenced dogs tracking from house. I don't know if it is true either.

Like I said before, if no one knows what Dylan's intentions were, LE would NOT be able to say...he DID NOT RUN AWAY. Can you explain this?

I think dad knew nothing about HOW he left even if he did ASSUME that he had.

I'd be curious if that was his typical parenting style.

I was just going to post this exact question! 4 miles is a long way to walk to go fishing, unless he was going to meet a friend or something , but there is no evidence anything like that happened.

Well thats sure a hike!

Yeah, I don't think Dylan would have done it knowing that MR was coming home to take him to his friends at 11:30. That's a long way to walk with gear, fish, and walk home by then.

LE knows more than we know?

Please see below. This is what I posted from the time line. The bolded sentence below is my own thought. I took this from the timeline as I stated in my post.

Seven divers from New Mexico State Police searched Vallecito Lake through the weekend after the dogs followed the scent to the lake, according to KMGH.

I had remembered reading this but could never find it again. I ran across it again today while reading the Timeline post #5 reported by ABC News. this is why I have always thought the dogs followed scent from house or close by. jmo
