AFAIK, LE hasn't commented on the video surveillance. One thought I had is that perhaps they saw one of the local RSO's cross paths with Dylan in Walmart or McD's and are looking at that angle.

:sigh:Or maybe he's just not on the surveillance tapes at all.

I would bank Dylan is on the video surveillance.

I'm wondering who "we" is. Also wondering why he goes into the detail about the flights, transfers etc.

Many things in that interview that is concerning. Not quoting Dylan at all...just that Dylan acknowledges his father....and knew he would be back....gosh does that sound like he hid him away somewhere....just odd how that sounds.....

Also a struggle?

His friend "trying" to text him...why trying and not successful?

When asked what he would say to his son....he isn't even speaking to him...just says he loves him and is praying for him....and then...."He was the light of my life" Odd to say that right when you are supposedly talking to your son....thinking of him in the past.

Also that he was successful in getting his son on the plane and safely home to his mom LAST time he visited in September....what! and then he goes into the who thing about a 13 year old traveling......omg.....this entire interview is very very very sad for Dylan....

I mean seriously and I'm not being sarcastic. He looks blue collar, the longish hair, baseball cap, flannel shirt. But doesn't he speak like a well educated man? Curious.

You know it really took me when he said he was a big city guy. Uh, his idea of big city and mine must be different because that is the last thing I would describe him as "a city slicker".

I hope I'm wrong about him and Dylan shows up tomorrow and says he did run away. But I don't hold much hope in that.

And dang it nursebeeme, I just made a real relevation regarding my ex and I was so excited, had that poster not posted that I'd have never put 2 and 2 together, even after 15 years. But didn't mean to violate the warning. Sorry!!

Truly I'm not trying to sound snarky, but this is my honest, heart-felt thought.

She was thinking it was Dylan's favorite song. I've read that from multiple sources on the Find Dylan website. In fact, they are trying to get the group Puddle of Mudd to do something special in his honor.

It's not about what ER wants or what she thinks. It's all about what Dylan wants!

As a mom who took her son to see many bands when he was a young teenager - bands that he wanted to see - including Slipknot and Marilyn Manson, I have the utmost respect for ER's choice to honor Dylan with a song he loved regardless of what anyone else thinks.

Supposedly, according to his adult cousin, Dylan loved the song when he was 3. 10 yrs. ago...

Mine too, and myself, sometimes. If I am trying to make sure that nothing I say can be taken out of context, I'll be more careful about which words I choose. I look very blue collar, and dress the part, but as of today, I hold a bachelor's degree.

My husband is the same way. He speaks like he's educated, because he has learned that more people are willing to listen, if you sound smart. Maybe that is Dylan's dad's thought? More people will listen and hear about Dylan if he sounds like he is well-educated as opposed to if they had to listen to him talk like a regular Joe?

For all we know about Dylan's father, he could be extremely well-educated. We don't know very much about anyone in this situation yet.

My BIL is extremely educated but prefers to live and look very blue collar. But when one speaks with him they realize very quickly what the see is not what they get! He's also a bit (a lot) of a hermit.

This is not to accuse anyone, simply to float a theory, yet another idea. That's all. I have no one specific in mind as I type this.

Maybe Dylan did meet up with a friend that day. Maybe he met a friend halfway. Maybe he took his backpack because he had something (video game, phone, pair of shoes, whatever) that he had brought with him to sell to one of his friends, and he didn't want dad to know that he had extra money, so he never told him he had brought it with him. (I was infamous for this as a young teen. I'd sell off all kinds of stuff to my friends, and tell Mom that it broke or got lost, because I just liked having my own money that no one knew I had.) He meets up with friend, the friend wants the game, shoes, whatever, but doesn't want to pay for them, and something unspeakable happens. Kids kill other kids all the time.

Just another idea I had while lying in bed last night. I know police have talked to his friends that they were aware of, but what if there were some they didn't know about, or some that they only briefly made contact with.

Me thinks it was to draw attention away from him actually landing. What did happen at the airport and on the way home. Spin the conversation somewhere else and keep blithering and the person will forget what really wanted to know.

the reason I said that was because after my divorce my ex mother in law had tons of pictures, but she never shared any of them with me. when the kids went to visit their dad it was go and visit his mother. she bought them toys and clothes but would not let any of it come home to me. and that is when I was getting no child support and just struggling to buy food for us.

Even though she was a ***** to me I continued the relationship for the children. I thought they needed a mamaw and a papaw. But, it was rough. It did turn out okay but the dynamics can be horrible. jmo

It just sounded like a scripted, rehearsed, well, not rehearsed but that he had KEY words to make sure he said. That's all. And yes, I see what you mean, there but by the grace of God go I.

There has been a lot of angst and discussion about MR planning errands the day after his son arrives. Well....seems like MR planned on Dylan being there Sat. instead of Sun. evening! Dylan planning to be with friends Sun. evening makes sense, now. And, IMO, doesn't mean he didn't want to be with dad! MR probably figured that Dylan would be with friends on Mon. so his errands wouldn't interfere with visit time.

I have to say that I agree, there is a possibility that he did make to meet with someone and something happened. For pete's sakes, look at Autumn Pasquale. Very possible. We just don't know and we have picked the straws apart over and over.
