How does LE know he did not have the intention of running away? Did Dylan tell someone he was leaving or where he was going?

If they have ruled out that he didnt run away then they know if he left the house on his own he didnt have any intentions of running away. I just explained to you how LE comes to those determinations. They base it on past history of the person by talking with family and friends that know them best and the amount of time that has passed. Its a process of elimination based on LE experience and common logic.

I havent seen LE say they dont believe Dylan left on his own. All I have heard them say is they are convinced he didnt runaway.

He wouldnt have to tell anyone that he was going to walk down the road a piece.

If it were a month or so....maybe, but they announced pretty early he did not run away. Dylan had a history of hitchhiking too and was not happy being with his father which makes run away a plausible scenario. So....LE knows so much more than us in my opinion....

On Wednesday, the task force officially ruled out that he was a runaway because of the amount of time he has been gone — 11 days as of yesterday, and because he has not been in contact with any of his friends or his parents. Like most 13-year-olds, “he was a prolific texter,” Bender said.

Thank you. Now I dont have to bring up the reasons they use anymore. :)

This is all based on common sense and not one person that knows Dylan including BOTH of his parents ever felt he had run away.

IMO

Whew.....this thread is like NYC: it NEVER sleeps! I need to be bionic!

Anyhoo, I was just thinking that Dylan was supposed to arrive at his dad's on Saturday but since there were problems with that flight, he arrived on Sunday afternoon/evening. Maybe the original plans were that he was going to spend time with dad on Saturday and Sunday, before going to friends' on Sunday night. But the flight changes threw off the original plans and gave Dylan and dad less time together. I can see Dylan being very unhappy about the change in plans to go see his friends on Sunday night. He probably got off that plane expecting to go straight to the friend's house and when dad said no, its possible an altercation ensued.
My question is, since I have become a bit confused as to what we know about the texts, was Dylan's last text to his friend saying that he would not be coming until tomorrow?
Wonder what his attitude was, in the text, about the plans being changed?

I really think LE know so much more than we do....they just don't have enough evidence..............or Dylan! So keeping quiet is in the best interest for Dylan to be found.

Ya know I think maybe they have some evidence.
they need Dylan.
I have a feelng they dont think hes alive I see no urgency in their actions.
I could be wrong!
I think they are back at the beginning. If they know where he was Monday morning they need to know where he was sunday night!

I have wondered the same thing. I also wondered if LE questioned the boys about Dylan's relationship with his dad.

I disagree. I understand what you are saying, just don't agree. I don't see LE making that statement on presumptions, especially with Dylan's situation.

It would be very easy for the perp to text on Dylan's phone before turning the phone off and getting rid of it.

But what about a runaway who had an accident? That is one thing
that keeps bothering me. What if he ranaway to go back home or to
friends but never made it.
Did you see the post I put up yesterday about the woman who
wrecked her car between walmart and her home and was missing
for 6 weeks. The family I'm sure assumed she met with foul play
or ran away . Turns out for the whole time her car was right there
in a ravine on the side of the road they all travel daily . It's strange
but true. :(

Maybe because he's Dylan's father, and he loves him, and missed him the months they were apart. Maybe he just wanted Dylan at home with him the first night, even if Dylan was just asleep on the sofa. I would have done the same in his place.

Yes, and wasn't he only supposed to be there a few days? I feel certain he would have to go back to school the Mon. after Thanksgiving, and a week can go by quickly. Perhaps Dad knew that once Dylan got to his buddies', he might just not want to come back, if he was having fun.

Little O/T but my oldest son has a teenager by a previous marriage, and when he comes to their house for visits, my son and DIL say he is never there, he goes out with his friends and they don't see him much at all. That's what teenagers do, it's not cool spending time with parents anymore.

How would the perp get between Dad and Dylan in the short window of time between arriving at airport and 8 pm ?

I dont think Dylan had a history of Hitchhiking.

I think it could have been mentiond by the kids but Im not so sure he actually ever hitched a ride,

Like if kids make plans and one says, "hey i cant get a ride there saturday maybe i can hitch a ride."

I dont think its ever been proven hes hitched anywhere.

I would love to hear from Elaine on the TV being left on at Mark's house, was this something that Dylan did at home. Did he leave the TV on after he left the house at home? I do not know anyone that does that, child or adult. Maybe I'm different. jmo

My DD leaves the TV on all the time. Drives me crazy!

Only one scenario would fit this theory.

Exactly when Dylan is supposedly in dads truck or asleep on dads sofa.

I know right?
The only problem with this scenario is it is also the one
scenario in which Dylan could not survive. :(

I do not believe Dylan survived.

Prayers upon prayers that he is somewhere and ok....but we know the stats.

Our goal is to find him, no matter what.

Dylan come home....we have grown to love you young man!

Sleuthing the father is not allowed. The discussion rules have been relaxed but that does not mean you can outright accuse him.

No 'tunnel talk' discussion allowed.

All opinions are welcome, please don't talk about being on one team or another. We all want the same thing... Dylan to be found safe

and brought home!!!

bumping this up. As Salem mentioned last night there is going to be zero tolerance.

Nurse, is that because of the last few posts ?
Sometimes when a bump up occurs, I am not
sure which rule was broken.
