CO - Dylan Redwine missing from Vallecito ***SEARCH DISCUSSION ONLY***

Maybe time to do a full out search of the lake. I think that needs to be cleared asap.

In my opinion unless Dylan is found during these searches, I don't believe at this point in a criminal investigation LE would share what they did or did not find. Protecting the integrity and any evidence in the investigation should be of the upmost importance.

I was struck by the fact that the article did NOT say he WAS or IS a suspect.

it is funny how differently two people can be struck by the same thing. The beauty of varied viewpoints and what they take from a statement.

It makes the world go round.

JMO but I assume that once LE has stated a particular individual is not a suspect, they would not feel the need to keep repeating that over and over again every time they discuss the case They have said MR isn't a suspect several times since last November and this has been quoted in numerous different platforms, but somehow folks don't believe them anyway.
Given that the article was about the weekend search I doubt LE would have tipped their hat about any new suspects in that context anyway.

Mark was not on Tricia's radio show last night. However, Tricia did read a text message she received from Mark. It starts around 4:00 minutes into her show. Mark was not at the search this weekend. Mark was busy in Denver preparing for his "Crusade for Dylan". He only found out a few days ago about the search. Due to poor communication it has made getting home difficult with the only direct route closed due to the wildfires and unable to participate in the efforts as only authorized personnel are invited. He is as close as a phone call away.

He has printed Flyers to hand out in the lower 48, provided Tricia with flyers, created business cards and a website for Dylan.

In my opinion, a brief summary...Mark was not at the search this past weekend.

I didn't realize people were posting here. I think the humidity has boiled my brain. Does anyone know if this is/was "the big search" that was talked about a couple of weeks ago on Tricia's show?

God bless Tricia for helping distribute flyers.

So rather than staying close by during the search, he's going to start driving around the lower 48 states and hand out flyers?? Hmmm interesting

The way I read it/heard it, MR was away when he learned the specific dates for the search.

Seems being there would not have been productive as MSM is reporting no clues found.

"Searchers looking for signs of missing teenager Dylan Redwine failed again to find any clues after another search around Vallecito Reservoir over the weekend."

Yes, it is the big search that was talked about on the show. So IMO, he know exectly when it was going to be. Also MOO, it was posted on his "endorsed" FB page on the 10th of June. MOO

Yes, this was the big search talked about on Tricia's show. The search included 7 agencies.

Snip - In addition to the Sheriff’s Office, other agencies involved in today’s search will include the
Durango Police Department,
La Plata County Search and Rescue,
Durango Fire & Rescue Authority,
Upper Pine River Fire Protection District,
La Plata Mounted Patrol and the U.S. Forest Service.

According to this MSM article friends and family participated in the search. Which is a contradiction to what Mark said about only authorized personnel being invited.

Dylan Redwine case: Searchers spent weekend looking for missing teen

Snip - DURANGO, Colo. - A large search for missing teenager Dylan Redwine failed to find any clues over the weekend.

The search near Vallecito Reservoir included friends, family and professional search teams, according to the Find Missing Dylan Redwine Facebook page.

BBM - In my opinion, Mark would have been one more set of eyes and feet. Just one more could make a difference. He may have just been the one to find a clue that could bring Dylan home.

In complete agreement Lash!

And I don't believe LE would feel any obligation to the public to release information on any clues they did find. Doing so could compromise judicial proceedings plus serve as an alert to the perp.

Excellent choice of location. As Mark mentioned on the radio show, he thought it was a stupid place to look:BBM
"We were almost to the point where we were out of cell phone reach when I got a call from um…Elaine’s friend who had indicated that there was an Albuquerque news reporter there and wanted to do an interview, so we kind of turned around and… I… I…I probably did… and…and this is what Brandon and I talked about…made a comment that it was kind of stupid to be going up in the middle of nowhere on the mountain range across from the one on my house when there’s no direct route there."

If Mark and Brandon turned around, whatever area they were looking in may not have been covered as well as it could have been. That alone makes it a great place to search again. Having a search that was not completed in an area is worse than having no search, especially if LE thought it had been searched. (I don't know that LE thought it had been covered, just going by Mark's interview with Tricia that they turned around). JMO.

I am glad to see them going over old ground. The snow melt runoff could unearth all kinds of things.

good point Ghostwheel -- reading Mark's words again makes me wonder why he is discussing the proximity to his own house! In the prior radio show he talks about how one would have to get there (go down to Bayfield and back around). Maybe he still believes this area is a stupid place to look and that's why he didn't make it to this search?

It is quite a way away, however if you look at the attached maps, I see at least one really good place I'd be searching. I haven't checked other areas on the map yet, but this one has hardly any houses, a dirt road off the mail road, and lots of places to hide things.

The zoomed in map I posted is the lower loop in the road of the zoomed out map. I am amazed at the detail you can see in this year's maps.

ETA: There are a lot of dirt roads up there, too. Lots of good places to search.

Looking at these maps though is just so overwhelming, especially keeping in mind that they were only able to look 100 yards off either side of the road. Wish there was a better way! I wonder if they took dogs this time and how far out a scent would be picked up.

Thanks Lash and findDylan. I thought this was the big search everyone had been talking about for the last few weeks, but the comments about MR being unaware made me unsure.
