MR swallows really hard and looks like he's about to cry when Dr Phil offers to help him if he flew into a rage and he's dead.

his only grief is shown when a mental health professional offers to HELP him if he killed his son.
That tell me he did kill his son (in the campground, IMO) and that Dr Phil got to him by showing him attention, compassion and the offer of help. It's ALL about him. how his murder of his son is affecting him.
what a total case. psychopath, sociopath, narcissist, etc....

I caught that too, it was a very telling moment.

I think if LE calls him in again (which I believe they will) I would not be a bit surprised if he lawyers up.

what does Mark mean by "people beat the odds every day"?

tia

Sorry, I just re-read that and realized I left out an important point there. He's basically saying (IMO) that after 3 months he knows the reality exists that Dylan may no longer be alive, but that "people beat the odds every day" so they need to keep looking for him. He didn't specifically say "no longer alive" but it was kind of implied IMO. He knows that odds say they're not likely to find Dylan alive and well at this point. At least I think that's what he meant...

There's a very simple cure for a hangover. I would have taken him over to the hospital and gotten him some IV fluids. He would have been feeling fine in no time and he could have napped while laying on the gurney getting well.

what a total and complete jerk. I sure hope they find something soon to pick him up.

I find it ironic that yesterday MR claimed ER had an alcohol abuse problem, and he then shows up the next day for a polygraph hungover...that just doesn't make any sense to me.

Totally IMO and based on my admittedly limited knowledge of human psychology, but the whole time MR was talking about ER yesterday I kept thinking about how you hear that people accuse others of the things that they themselves do/are/feel guilty about. We've heard in various places that MR has a history of being violent, quick to "snap," alcohol problem... all the things he accused ER of. Who knows, but I couldn't stop thinking about that. MOO.

I wonder what the next move will be for the family as I can't see what else they can do "if" Mark is guilty .

I don't think putting up more billboards or going on tv is now going to change the outcome here .

Finding out WHO is in that lake!

I have not kept up with this case. Don't know much at all about it. I was aware of it, always new posts here.

Anyway, from my newbie to the case mind I got weird vibes from his Dad while watching DP today.
Mom seemed to have real angry emotion and Dad just seemed flat and annoyed/angry with her.

All just my opinion.

Well hes done this 3 times.
Once in his first marriage ad then 2 times with Dylan and Cory.
Maybe not the best way to handle a situation!

Now his son goes missing yet again what would you think?
OMG he took Dylan again!

Cory says he feels Mark took D to get back at his mom!

and after 3 months I would say something happened to him and kidnapping is a felony and if something happens where the person dies then the kidnapper would be punished to the full extent because it happened during the commission of a felony.

Wow. This episode of Dr. Phil is like nothing I've ever heard of before. I am astonished and just trying to absorb this information.

I'm with you! Both yesterday and today I've been having to remind myself that this is real, this is about the Dylan that we've all been so passionate about finding for the past 3 months. It feels like scenes out of a movie or something.

JMO, all the social media in the world is not going to help if in fact MR killed Dylan, and only he knows where he is.

For the most part, I agree. However, it only takes one person to share Dylan's story on their FB page and just maybe someone would recognize something from that night or day.

Something about the father doesn't sit right with me.

Ya think? I have been one of those who decided to not to make a judgment about MR until LE indicated there was suspicious behavior on his part. Watching the show last night was painful because MR said several idiotic statements (that EH could be involved with DR's disappearance, for one).

Now to read all of this -- disappointment and anger don't begin to describe how I feel, coupled with the dogs hitting on a scent yesterday. I pray for EH's and CR's sakes that this nightmare comes to an end very soon. As far as MR is concerned, he is reaping what he sowed. By avoiding the polygraph, MR just told the world he either is guilty or knows more than he has claimed. Absolutely pathetic. I can't even look at his picture anymore, and watching part 2 this evening will be close to impossible. For God's sake, MR is Dylan's FATHER!!!! :truce:

AZG, I respect the way you spoke to MR on the show. Calm, cool and collective. I'm sure it was not easy.

Why was only MR asked to take a polygraph? IMO they ALL should have taken one. EH seems to talk out of both sides of her mouth, and CR is filled with venom. I'd have felt better to see them all take it.

Finding out WHO is in that lake!

I don't know how it works but maybe using some of the fund money for Dylan . As surely they will want to know if its Dylan and won't want to wait another month or two . So bring in a professional company and if its costs it costs but it saves them weeks of torment in the mean time .

:cow:

I'm just not sure what to think right now, Kimster. I'm not saying MR is an alcoholic either, but it just seems so bizarre to me that someone would drink heavily the night before a scheduled polygraph. I can see how hearing CR say he hates him can be difficult to take in, along with DR missing, and everything else. I just don't know...

I'm not sure either, but when he got into describing the size of the bottle and specifying "not the big bottle" just the "pint" bottle, it struck me as it reminded me so much of those I've known with drinking problems. He certainly had a lot of reason to be under stress, so if he has a tendency towards using alcohol to deal with stress, I'm sure this situation has made it worse.

I also wondered if alcohol does in fact alter poly results. Anyone know? If so, I wonder if he knew that was the best way for him to get out of the poly? All purely speculation and wondering.
