The next witness to be called to the stand is Detective Tim Ferrell, with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. He described what he saw at the Stauch home on the night of January 28, 2020.

Detective Ferrell said detectives found a pair of shoes on the washer/dryer that seemed out of place, with a pink residue on the soles. He said investigators had suspicions that it was blood, and the shoes had attempted to be washed.

It doesn't really matter whether any of us think she's sane. It's the jury who has to decide that. It's possible that a person or two could look at the extent of the injuries and conclude she was acting like a wild, non-human beast in a frenzy. IOW, "crazy" in colloquial English.

The jury is not making a psychiatric or psychological determination. They might be instructed to use the "reasonable person" standard. Just substitute the word "insane" for "negligent" in most definition. Would a reasonable person believe Letecia Stauch to be insane at the time of her murder of Gannon?

Don't know about you, but this is one I'm not willing to wager, one way or another. I have no clue how the jurors might think about it, especially as LS seems to be one of the more "advertiser censored" crazy people to appear in a US court in living memory. But, the Manson family were found sane enough - she's no more insane than they were. IMO.

But my opinion doesn't matter here. And there will be an expert (Dr Lewis) to testify that LS is indeed insane. And experts who say she isn't.

The jury gets the task of deciding and while I have strong views on what I would decide, I can't speak for each individual juror.

In this case and in my opinion.
I believe those jurors will know this was a deliberate act and whether or not they “think” she is insane, they will say she was sane. And mean and hateful and narcissistic and, and, and.

Prosecution calling up Det. Tim Ferrell to the stand.

Det. Ferrell responded to Stauch home on Jan 28th, night after Gannon was reported a runaway. When he arrived on scene he just remembers Harley Hunt being there. They went in and took pictures of the scene and looked for things out of the ordinary.

Det. Ferrell looking at pictures of the Stauch's laundry room from Jan 28th, 2020.

Detective talks about this pile of laundry. In the pile, they noticed a sneaker with pink substance/residue on the bottom of shoe. Detective said it stood out. They thought it may be bloody shoes that were soaked to try to clean them so they swabbed them.

Det. Ferrell: “It seemed out of place and very strange to us at that moment.”

Ferrell pointing to melted carpet area in the living room.

We are looking at pictures of the trash outside of the house. Melted part of the carpet and padding from under it are in the garbage bag/bin at their house.

2ft by 2ft part of square carpet with burn area and wax substance found in the garbage.
2 foot bt 2 foot? That's huge. Not just knocking over a candle (per her pinky promise video).

Ferrell said detectives also observed and took photos of evidence in and around the home. He said there were burn marks on the couch in the basement, and a piece of carpet that had been cut out.

Ferrell also said there were trash cans in the backyard, which included the piece of carpet that was cut out. They also found a candle with a piece of fabric inside the candle that didn’t match the burned carpet or the couch.

Candle had a piece of fabric inside the hollow top of candle, not identified from what. I'm wondering-- Fabric from someone's clothing? Opening it in the courtroom, the candle, and it, the fabric, appears to be a sock stuck inside the candle.
What? A sock?
Why?....

Detective is being shown and they're going through photos taken on Jan. 28th. In the courtroom they are showing items and areas of Gannon's room with (blood) residue, and a mattress with discoloration on it. They are showing guns found in the MBR closet.

Ferrell said detectives also found guns in the master bedroom, including the master bedroom closet. Ferrell said, “Something seemed off. We couldn’t put a finger on it.”

In cross, detective says there were utility workers in the area the day of the Gannon's disappearance. To her knowledge, she doesn't remember anyone reporting hearing gun shots.
utility workers being 'in the area' and not hearing shots is not that convincing , imo.

'In the area' is a large swath of potential locations. And they were ikely making their own noise and focused on their activities. Besides, I think the shots were fired in the basement. And she probably had the tv or radio on to block out the sound.

This sounds like a BIG surveillance detail. Multiple cars switching out, had to be smooth, a lot of manpower.

Detective says they had different cars following Letecia and Harley. Saw them going into a Marshall's. Undercover officers followed them into the store to see where Harley's phone was. Warrants for Harley's car and phone were in the works as this was happening.

While in store, officers saw both Harley and Letecia using Harley's cell phone. Letecia left the store first. As she walked towards Harley's car, officers started to go approach her and detective says Letecia saw an officer coming towards her and "bolted" running away.
