The burden is on the state to do exactly that: prove beyond a reasonable doubt that LS was sane when she murdered Gannon, and that DID is not responsible for LS's actions but she alone is responsible.

I recall AS testifying that GS was in counseling after the divorce and custody revision and I wonder if he was still in counseling at the time of his death.
I'm curious because after LS accused GS of coming at her with a knife (which I don't believe) -- I wonder if he confided in the therapist about being mistreated by LS.

Also, didn't LS tell detectives during the missing person report that GS took medication for ADHD? Or maybe she said vitamins. I'll read the tweets for clarification. MOO

The state has to prove its case regardless. These facts are important to have on the record to demonstrate her guilt. It is an added bonus that each of her steps and her conversations show that she was in control of her actions at all times. We (and she) knows she did these actions. To prove she was sane the state has to make sure they connect each and every dot in her actions and decision-making. From what I have seen they are doing a great job so far. The harder testimony is going to be about her sanity, which we will be turning to in short order. Notice each person who testified has been asked about her decision making, use of another name, and connection to reality-- laying the groundwork.

Little tip for condensed watching, I find a youtube version and start it after it has been live for a while and set the play time for x2 or 1.5 speed. I mainly listen to it and can change the speed if I the person is hard to understand or I want to see the evidence. Then I skip over the breaks. Very sad for her brother. I hope he and his mom and aunt who obviously dropped everything to come search for Gannon get the support they need.

Tolini spent the majority of his cross-examination asking Lowery about how his father — Stauch's stepfather — was abusive to him and his mother before he died in 2004.

During opening statements last week, defense attorney Will Cook said childhood trauma suffered at the hands of the men who dated and married her mother was part of the reason Stauch suffers from dissociative identity disorder. Cook also claimed that Stauch’s disorder caused her “psychotic crack" and why defense expert Dr. Dorothy Lewis found her to be insane.

Lowery said his father used to beat his mother, and that once as a child his father forced Lowery to drink so much alcohol that he passed out.

While Lowery was telling the alcohol story, Stauch nodded her head in agreement.

I think the knife story about the knife is all in her head made up from her past when she was giving her little brother a knife. she is ugly on the inside that one jmoo

Last witness of the day was a forensic nurse examiner with UC health who met with Stauch on Jan. 29, 2020. The nurse testified that Stauch told her that she had been sexually assaulted the night Gannon was kidnapped.

The nurse testified that Stauch initially agreed to a "SANE" exam, but left the hospital before the nurse could complete it. The portion of the exam that the nurse did complete she stated there was no evidence to back the claims Stauch had made to her about being assaulted.

That's a wrap for today, trial will resume tomorrow morning.

Appending to my own message to add although I didn't hear medication mentioned during the 911 call, I think I could have heard the Rx Vyvanse as "vitamins."

I think she said Vyvanse in the bodycam footage which is a prescription ADHD medication. I have always thought from the moment we learned that Gannon had ADHD that LS was probably abusing his medication if he was prescribed Adderall or Vyvanse. Her actions, manner and way of speaking are kind of a dead giveaway in my mind because I know someone addicted to Adderall who uses the same kind of language and mannerisms as LS when she is speaking.

Thank you @Bbgiraffe. I heard about the ADHD diagnosis for GS for the first time from LS during today's (Trial day 6) 911 call (non-emergency). I'll try to go back to the bodycam footage and listen for the Rx.
