Why the questions about whether or not they went to church that Sunday? Has it ever been mentioned before now? It was brought up in direct, cross, and redirect. But I don’t recall ever hearing anything about church that day until today.

You know what I didn't hear a lot about today? Gannon! HH may have been under the spell of mom but I did not see any rage or anger that Gannon is not alive anymore and that makes me very, very sad!!!! I got the feeling she was sad that she had to be there and face her mom but not for Gannon. We heard about how HH was left with no money and how IF her mom was going to do something like that she could think about her daughter. Wow!

Poor Gannon. He is getting lost in this all the drama and antics of LS, and while I do feel a little sympathy for HH that she is alone, I can't help but feel that Gannon never stood a chance in that house. He was thrown away like garbage and these people only cared about what was going to happen next....in their lives... to them and how they were going to move forward. Not a hint of sorrow or remorse for his death. It is absolutely heartbreaking to think about the hell that child went thru in those final days.

I fully understand your anger and grief and sadness watching this unfold. I feel the same way.

Unfortunately we HAVE to hear about the drama and antics of the Defendant as the Prosecution lays out their case. The Jury has been told that their task is to decide if the State has proven all the elements of the crimes charged and that’s how they will reach their verdict.

In addition to proving that she is Guilty, the State in this case must prove that she was SANE at the time she committed these acts.

We have to remind ourselves that in this long drawn out process, that every single witness for the Prosecution- every Deputy, every Evidence tech, every FBI analyst is HERE for Gannon and wants Justice for him.

I haven’t fully formed my opinion about HH testimony yet- there was SO much to digest that I need to watch it again.

I do think that she did a good job overall considering the time frame they needed to question her about and the fact that she was facing LS for the first time since her arrest.

I’m not apologizing for HH, but as far as her saying that she was left alone with no financial support- I feel that that was elicited by the Defense lawyer badgering her, calling her manipulative and saying she lied to get money.

When I first saw her fundraiser and it says she lost both parents at age 17, I kinda thought the same as the Defense.
But after thinking about it and hearing some of what she’s lived through, she really did become an orphan when her mother killed Gannon.

The Defense job was to make her look bad. And they did.

But I absolutely agree with you that the outrage and the tears should be for Gannon. And what was taken from him. And what the World lost by him being taken so cruelly.

Hope this makes sense. Still trying to process.

In my opinion that's fitting justice.

Sounds like LS has always been an unstable nut job. How she managed to land AS is beyond me. She knew if she was caught hurting Gannon she was going to lose the lifestyle she had with AS, and would be back to being a desperate woman, always on the move because she couldn't hold a job or keep a place to live.

HH has got to be so wounded inside. Her own mother doesn't even care how her actions hurt HH. No remorse or tears while listening to her daughter on the stand, she is ice cold. I love that HH is completing her education and appears to be thriving in her personal life right now (source, her IG account). LS can sit in prison and know her daughter is everything that LS wasn't, and wanted to be, beautiful and successful, without having to lie about her education, qualifications, and references.

So, is defense going to present evidence that Tee was insane at the time she murdered Gannon? How will that work? Will they walk us through what she was thinking, and basically recreate his murder as seen through the eyes of LS’s DID persona? Complete with descriptions of the demons she was killing.

Or - will they just bring experts to testify what DID is and what devastation it can cause?

Maybe they will do basically nothing, as it’s the state’s job to prove she’s sane. Will their closing argument to the jury say that the default assumption is she was insane with DID precisely on January 27, 2020, unless the state has proven BARD otherwise?

Can someone please explain why she thought Gannon was taking "bath salts?" Did she accuse him of taking them?
Was she slowly poisoning him and then trying to get others to believe he was experimenting with bath salt street drugs?
Am I close? This one thing I am having a hard time following.

My head is spinning with all these same questions.

Their opening statement was so dramatic about her childhood traumas. It was kind of shocking to me that they called her Mother a horrible Mother and mentioned “ all the men in her life “.
Then they said that although the Prosecution will say she was sane, the Jury will hear from her friends and loved ones that she was actually “ unraveling “ leading up to the crime.

Who are these people? I can’t imagine her Mother showing up after being spoken of like that. Aunt Brenda? Her sisters?

What weight would they bring? They live miles away.

Forget all those character witnesses.

What is with the Prosecution mentioning all these names like Jasmine, Harmony and Maria?!

So far I just don’t see the Defense convincing a Jury of DID.

That girl on the stand was on the verge of tears on every question. It took great courage to do what she did today.

Courage is deeply personal. Yes, it can involve big, bold acts that make the world take notice. But often, like today, it’s just about the bravery of one young woman, quivering, dealing with her own trauma, pain and grief...

I agree that the eventual character testimony of relatives (who live on the other side of the country) or friends will have little weight compared to HH, Laina S, and AS who spent the most time with LS up to GS' disappearance. HH lived with her mother, she knew her the most. Therefore I think her testimony is potentially one of the most damning.

While childhood trauma stories can help give context to why LS is the way she is, I think the Defense is going to struggle to convince a jury that she experienced a big enough psychotic break to be legally insane when she committed the crimes of abuse, torture and murder of GS, then spent the next few months covering it up, lying about it, manipulating family, friends and LEO to believe her ever increasingly bizarre tales of being a random rape victim.

JMO, but I think they are doing a good job of establishing LS' psychological baseline. She has always been dishonest, abusive, manipulative, a fabricator and attention seeker. This is her personality. She had her social masks, as we all do. She hid the worst of herself to get what she wanted, but it still was present. Like when she would be mean to the children. Backhanding HH for disrespect. We also know that Laina was forced to apologise to LS by AS for lying about abuse. Clearly AS believed LS over the little girl and probably he regrets that now. What did GS report to his father or Landen that was dismissed as lies? We know she had a vindictive, jealous streak regarding Landen. I will never forget her using that waving goodbye image of GS on her FB profile page. That was a deliberate taunting of a grieving mother.

MOO only, but I think what she did to GS is a heightened exposure of her true nature, not an aberration. And, so far, the state is doing a decent job in arguing this position. We see the calculation and premeditated aspect in the video footage of her escape attempt. She clearly was not experiencing a mental break when she suddenly attacked the deputy. She was biding her time, playing docile, and waiting for an opportunity to surprise the LEO in charge of her transportation. No sign of agitation or unraveling psyche there.

I think this footage was impt for the prosecution, because we could see for ourselves exactly how LS' mind works, how she twists reality and gaslights people, how vicious she can be in a blink of an eye.

Letitia will be practising her testimoney, which, by God , after Harley monopolised all the sympathy and compassion that righffully belongs to Letitia, will have to be electric and convincing as all get out. I just cannot see her allowing her legal rep to do this job for her, he does not have the charisma, the pull that Letitiia believes she has, in bucketsfull. No one else can do it better. No way is she going to let Harley get away with all that 'going against her' stuff. Harley says now, she doesn't believe Letitia, which is the clang of doom for Harley.

Letitia will have to take care of business ( Harley's quite damning claims ) in the stand. She has to remember to bung on a few 'insane' yelps and howls, and , confusing goofy and ridiculous with 'insane' ,lots of finger messages, lots of wierd face pulling and jerking around.

Defense has no burden of proof regarding sanity in CO. It’s on the prosecution to prove her sane. They are better off closing with all the crazy {the defense, obviously)

*Trial continues (Day 10) (@ 9am MT) – CO – Gannon Jacob Stauch (11) (reported missing Jan. 27, 2020, Colorado Springs; found in a suitcase along the Escambia River Bridge (on US90) on Mar. 17, 2020 in Pace, FL., Santa Rosa County; ID’d on June 6, 2020) – *Letecia Lynn (or Leann) Stauch (36/now 39) akas Letecia “Tecia” Lynn Hardin (maiden name) & Letecia Lynn Hunt (1st married name), Tiffany Taylor Stauch & Taylor Swift arrested (in Myrtle Beach, S.C. on 3/2/20) & advised of charges (3/5/20) & charged (3/11/20 & re-filed 3/20/20) & arraigned (11/4/21) with 2 counts of 1st degree felony murder (after intent & deliberation), 2nd degree felony child abuse resulting in death (this count dismissed on 4/3/23), 3rd degree felony tampering with deceased human body, 6th degree felony tampering with physical evidence & 8 counts of crime of violence (special enhancer: firearm, blunt instrument, knife or sharp instrument & causing the death of Gannon). Held without bond. Plead not guilty. On 2/11/22 changed plea to not guilty by reason of insanity. (for original charges (3/5/20) see post 362 page 19 of thread #54).
*Charged (filed 5/20/20) & charged (6/5/20) with solicitation to commit escape. $2K bond. Plead not guilty.
Stauch faces a second case in which she is accused of attempting to escape from the El Paso County jail in May 2020. The second case against Stauch is on hold until the completion of the 1st degree murder trial.
Trial began on 3/20/23 with jury selection & ended on 4/3/23 for final jury selection with 11 men & 7 women. 12 jurors & 6 alternates. 4/17/23: Juror 12 dismissed. 11 men & 6 women. 12 jurors & 5 alternates.
Trial began on 4/3/23 with opening statements.
Trial will be from 9am to 5pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday each week. No Trial on Thursdays as Judge has other commitments. No trial on 5/12/23.
