Jury questions.

GOOD QUESTION.

Asked if she recalls seeing any part of Gannon in bed. She saw his head.

ANOTHER GOOD QUESTION.

Asked if the van was in a different place in the parking lot in Florida. She didn't recall.

Asked if Gannon was treated different, stricter or harsher. She says no.

Asked by prosecution if she recalled seeing the suitcase at any time during the window of the crime she says no.

No cross.

HH is finished!

Jury is leaving.

And, we're done for the day!
GREAT QUESTIONS

I’m surprised she said it didn’t seem that Gannon was treated differently by her mom.

I have no doubt he was. But HH may not have been able to recognize it, or LS may have turned evil when nobody else was around
Well, we know LS was smacking HH around the face on the regular for any perceived infraction, that that was HH's 'normal'. LS could easily have been doing it to all three kids, equally. Doesn't make Gannon any less abused.

I don’t think Al noticed particularly different or cruel treatment towards Gannon either, but it clearly happened. Sometimes, it’s not easy to spot if you’re not already looking for it, especially when it’s more of an emotionally abusive way. Sadly I know from my own childhood. Letecia seemed to favour more of a “mean girl” approach to Gannon for a long time. Mocking him for his health issues etc. I don’t know when it became physical against him.

Well done, Harley. Powerful and excellent testimony.

Did LE not see a big bulky green suitcase in back of the van??
Does seem a tad unbelievable that HH never looked in the back of that van ever.

Cross on Harley Hunt is starting

Harley tells Tolini she doesn't remember walking in on her mom rolling in a ball crying in the past.

Harley says she's come across her mom crying before in closet and she's walked in on her mom in closet texting.

"She was always just worried about me" - Harley about her mom growing up. She said they would have code words like Harley's middle name. "She would say it so that I would know it was her talking to me. I just thought it was normal mom things.”

Harley says mom would be sudden in moving them. "She would be like 'i'm not happy, what do you think about moving here?’"

Harley tells Tolini her mom looked legitimately worried when they we're looking for Gannon the night of his disappearance

Have to step away from feed to go do my 4 pm news story. Will be back shortly.

Harley tells Tolini during the whole trip, she didn't believe she would do anything to hurt Gannon.

“The thought just never came across my mind, I just never thought my mom would do that…I never even questioned it, it just never came up.”

Prosecution: “Do you still love your mother?” Harley didn’t answer, and put her head down as she became emotional.

Excellent point. It’d be interesting to know if anyone else was aware of Letecia backhanding and manipulating Harley.

I got to watch most of Harley today, she did an amazing job, as hard as I’m sure it was for her…..I also think it did her good to be able to tell her story and face her mother. She will always have some for love her, not like her but it’s her mother.

Is Harley back tomorrow or are they done?
I'm not sure. Both sides had her on their witness list. I don't know if this counts for both, or if they'll recall her later once we switch to the defense.

I'm so glad they asked about the van, I couldn't understand why the prosecution didn't, but after she answered I figured they had asked her that beforehand and knew she didn't know.

Same with the different treatment of Gannon. I'm glad they asked even though she said no, it shows they're thinking what we're thinking too!

Copied from @gerbil from previous thread.
"I've been shaking the echoes of the trial out of my bones by gardening the last week ..

I've cut down a small cars worth of wildly overgrown laurel and holly bush, gained a whole load of extra sunlight, and I'm planting a lot of blue flowers (both bulbs and established plants) that should come back again next spring/summer, and the one after, and the one after...

Makes no difference to the grand scheme of anything, but it's a small thing that'll keep him remembered here."

Same for me.
I have achieved a great deal in my garden: especially weeding around my gazanias, in the nature strip (so don't need to mow lawns).
We need a form of daily meditation, after listening to this trial, as otherwise, our minds keep thinking of the horrid examples we have just heard.
Let's hope GUILTY, without ever parole.

Yeah, I’m sure Gannon was treated differently.

Regarding not looking in the back of the van, I don’t personally find that odd considering Harleys experience with questioning her mom. She had no reason to look back there if Letecia never told her she needed to.

When you’re in that environment, a kid learns to keep their head down and not make waves. I think that came across very strongly in Harley’s testimony and I’m so glad she’s managing to overcome it now. I wish her all the best, it’s not an easy journey.

We will hear the truth from Laina. Let’s hope there was no perjury today.

Abuse is usually a silent weapon.
100% agreed. That’s also why I’m not surprised Harley didn’t witness Gannon being specifically treated differently. Although now the question is in her mind, she may have some more horrible realisations down the line.

Does seem a tad unbelievable that HH never looked in the back of that van ever.

It wasn't there when they packed the first van, she retrieved it later when she "went out for dog food"

There were rumours back along, nothing substantiated though.
