Cross.

Within several days he made the determination and changed Gannon's status to endangered missing.

Asked if he could see her phone. He took it from her.

He had been watching the interview from another room. Was also co ordinating with Rocky and other detectives at the time.

Defense asking for a timeline.

From 29th to 7th, between the phone and house being seized. Lt questions defense's maths skills, LOL.

I think defense is implying the witness was negligent in not seizing the house sooner, or too hasty in seizing the phone. IDK.

Defense implying they could have arrested her for lying (attempt to influence public servants), then. Lt Points out at that time they had no body, that it was only a misdemeanour with what they had.

Defense: Why didn't you arrest her then?

Witness: What would that have achieved?

Defense dithers.

Witness wants to know where this is going. "I want to help you." LOL.

Defense trying to get him to admit that if she had been arrested that she couldn't have dumped Gannon's body. He's not biting. Says they had no proof at that time Gannon was dead, could not have held her. "I think you're reaching."

Defense steps down.

Prosecution comes back, is getting the Lt to walk through probable cause 101. Makes it clear that they did not have probable cause to arrest her until she was actually arrested.

Talking about the calculated move to transport Gannon that distance, following road rules, concealing that from everyone. Talking about how it was all carefully calculated to conceal evidence 'especially 1300 miles away'.

No jury questions.

Next witness!
I’m struggling with the defense strategy. So far the attorney has asked questions that suggest other types of mental illness and has even hinted that HH might have been involved.

But nothing remotely pointing to DID. What am I missing? Defense hasn’t even tried hard to show that Letecia experienced a psychotic break.

Could this wench be any LESS interested, bored and seemingly inconvenienced? Gah, watching her makes my blood boil! (yet here I am....)
I don't think she really cares what is being said about her. She's showing signs of boredom. If she didn't act out during HH's testimony, I doubt anything else will bother her that much. Thankfully, I'm just watching with no blood boiling or hatred.

Right like we do not know why the aunt made her get a whole different van ,when they had one already . Seems like an odd thing for an aunt to refuse on when there kids is missing. Like let waste time switching vans and riding around. So I think i would like to have that answered by the aunt.
I think T was deep into her shell game with vehicles. Important to keep switching to keep LE guessing.

She thought it was working.

She was wrong.

LE had her number from the start.

Talking about how blood pattern analysis is useful with 'when we don't know what happened'.

Limitations are we can only use what we can see in front of us. Also, if the documentation or photography is bad, it's very hard to analyse.

Talking about how cleaning affects bloodstains. Can it cause it to run down a wall, behind a light socket, pool on the floor. Does cleaning a bloodstain remove useful information. Absolutely.

Responded to the home on the 5th. Explaining the process now. First and foremost briefed by detectives, then conducts a walkthrough. Processes from exterior inwards, then least intrusive to more intrusive methods. On the 5th, solely focussed on Gannon's bedroom. South and east walls in SE corner of the room. Labelled wall, baseboard and window screen, potential bloodstains, A, B, and C. Individual stains numbered, eg, A1, A2, etc. Took swabs of stains, too.

"Not a static event, a dynamic event."

"To have blood at that scale, there has to be some kind of movement."

Showing a photo of the bedroom covered in markers, now. Discussing the spread. Height of five to six feet tall, spanned at least six feet down the wall. One stain outside the roadmapping tape down by the baseboard.

Right but she had wanted to use the aunts van and was not permitted to per her aunt,so I want to know at this point what is her aunt thinking? It seems there was some issues she has to refuse T and her princesses butt.

Harley said she got the lotion and stuff like that for herself. Only the cleaning supplies were requested by LS. Also, the windows were open overnight on the 26th when Gannon was still alive.

I see two interesting non-cleaning supplies on the list. Baking Soda and Extreme Deodorizer.

Deodorizer (standard kind sold at such stores) is mostly baking soda and fragrance. As I posted above, these slow down decomposition and have been used for that purpose since Ancient Egypt. It was the first step in mummification.

I posted links above.

They don't have to.

In CO, she is presumed insane until proven sane. That's the entire premise of this trial.

Prosecution has to prove her sane. Burden of proof is on the prosecution.

This is not a typical situation for states that have NGRI. It's very weird to me. I really don't understand how you prove someone sane - but the jury is given that task here.

IMO.

He went missing on the 27th so I really think they went to find Gannon. I doubt it was because they thought she was being set up. I think it was because they though he was really missing and that is scary.
Just my own thoughts and MOO, but mainly I'm just curious how close of a family they were.

I think it was her mother, aunt, and brother traveled to Colorado, and within two days they were already there. Even if they all came out to Colorado to help search for Gannon, that is a pretty darn supportive, close family.

I guess Gannon was in their lives back east more than I might realize. Also, Letecia must've been closer to her family than I know about.

By Jan. 29th, they were here when Letecia did that interview, and she was already complaining people were threatening her and her family and accusing her of harming Gannon. That's what the interview was all about from Letecia's perspective. So, I'm sure her family heard all about it early on. How much searching did her family actually do?

I’m choosing not to listen to the blood pattern analysis live, the pictures it paints are too vivid and too cruel for me. Thank you all, as always, for keeping us all updated.

The next witness to be called to the stand is Alyssa Berriesford, a crime scene investigator with the Metro Crime Lab. She’s testifying as an expert in blood stain pattern analysis.

Berriesford analyzed the blood stains in Gannon’s bedroom on the walls, baseboard and floor area. “There was something dynamic that happened there, more than just a single event that happened in that room,” said Berriesford.

Berriesford added, “To have blood at that scale... there has to be some movement in that scene… a bloody object being swung was present in that room.” She said what happened in Gannon’s bedroom was “violent.”

Jurors are now seeing photos of blood stains that Berriesford analyzed. Berriesford is describing a photo of the wall in Gannon’s bedroom with blood stains going in different directions. “That tells me that there’s probably more that one event happening to produce these stains.”

A significant blood-letting took place in Gannon's bedroom per Blood spatter analyst now testifying. ( Markers on wall indicating blood)

Scene indicated a lot more violence than she would have expected based on what they knew at that point.

Some of the bloodstains showed different directionality. Showing closeup of the wall with four tiny stains. Different directionalities for the different stains. Lower one, downward, up top, upward, left to right.

Showing the outlet now, talking about evidence of cleaning. Visible bloodstain with blurred edges, indicating cleaning. Between socket and sticker scale is a diluted bloodstain. Staining also in the screw area of the outlet.

Went back to the scene at a later time with Tom Griffin, who submitted an expert report for this case.

Ooh, sheet collected from bedroom closet laundry basket. Witness opening to check item is the same as the one she collected.

Evidence admitted.

I’m waiting for her to lay her head on the desk and take a nap. She looks like she couldn’t be bothered like this has nothing to do with her. I wonder if she makes soft groans to her attorney friends in their special chairs she’s jonesing on. Poor Letecia feels neglected.

HH said her Aunt said something about insurance on the first rental van.

If LS was telling her Aunt that she was thinking of moving to Texas, South Carolina or Florida, I can understand why the Aunt would have concerns if the rental was in her name and probably coming out of her pocketbook.

Perhaps the first van was from a local company, not a bigger chain like Budget that has drop off locations Nationwide and better rates.

I think initially the Aunt agreed to get the first van for them just to get their things from the house and had no idea LS was going to leave Colorado .

Just my Speculation.

I'm watching on Law and Crime and haven't seen anything much that's gruesome. However, the testimony is painful to listen to - and tedious, too, as we already know what she did.
