I agree with you. David Birnie was a coward but she, Catherine Birnie yes she is so much LS. But LS is not as smart as CB. But LS reminded me strongly off BE The Claremont Killer, how the class in First year of High School witnessed him collecting materials, melting it a pot, the glint in his eyes and the smirk as he edged closer to the victim, the glee in his eyes as he tried to pour the molten plastic over the boy's arm, flash of disappointment when he missed by the fraction, then the look of inocence/stunned Mullet when Teacher came aware, students not being believed, there were other incidents always smoothed over by his bullying Mum, students resorted to igornying him so they would not attract trouble. Like LS getting away from her actions throughout her life, the thrill she could get away with anything she committed JMO if someone stood up/or spoken it would maybe prevented Gannon's tragic death.
I had to step back watching the Court Trial, I am a bit behind the thread watching the interveiws, hearing to evidence presented in what happened Gannon my heart broke. It reminded too much of a foster family I stayed, the gas lighting, the sudden vilolent attacks how two people ,foster parent and foster brother(Teenager) careful made sure their action was not seen by other family members as I was punched, whipped, stomped on: twisting it I was to blame inn what happened. No one would believe me. When family was not around food was with held from me. Sometimes when I ate food I was sick or drugged out, combined with the stress I had for a period of time stomach and bowel problems which was not treated at the time. Looking at thread I IMO see what was happened to Gannon with his health problems, LS always commenting on, she was the cause and she watched it. IMO.
My Foster Mother always knew when ,I was throwing up, blocked or loose bowels even when I hid it or they were not home and I cleaned it up. I can see how frightening it would had been to Gannon, eating food wondering will it make him sick, but by refusing, it would had made things worse for him. Then there would be days when the food was fine. LS IMO playing Potluck/ flip of a coin The video of LS and Gannon, which came short time after Gannon disappearance I barely listen, within seconds I turned it off I was shaking. At that time I was hoping he had run away, that moment I knew LS was behind his disappearence. But still I hoped he would found safe, my heart broke when I heard his body had been found. It brought back memories ,seeing justice being done I can see what Gannon was going through the pain,fear and confusion, my foster parent and son near the end they did not care I was turning up at school with burises etc Like LS they have got away with this almost two years, for LS, I think it was a longer time on and off for Gannon torture. The last few days I manage to catch up I think the fire was to damage not the carpet but the house in LS mind if Gannon was caught in the fire it been a tragic accident, in her twisted mind. But Gannon managed to put the fire out, burning himself. This act just fed her anger, there was no one to stop her , she was now totally out of control which sealed Gannon fate, she was going to kill him , (A) she could not cover up regarding Gannon other Injuries to many questions asked, if taken to hospital,(B) she was correct in her actions and totally believed she could get away with it.
There are times now, in my heart I wish Gannon had the chance as I did because someone reported things were not right at the house I was staying, to School and Police, they also bravely confronted Foster Family, I was removed from their care.
But tragiclly, Gannon was not given this chance, now we grieve, families are shattered we wait for justice for Gannon.

The murder trial for Letecia Stauch is resuming this morning. The trial is now in week 4. I'll be bringing you the latest from the courtroom and updates throughout the day.

Jonathan Grusing, a former special agent, is taking the stand again. He’s testifying about his interrogation and interview with Letecia Stauch at the Myrtle Beach Police Department after she was arrested for murder in March 2020.

Grusing testified saying that Letecia would challenge him on knowing statements about where Gannon was. He said, if he wasn’t correct with his guesses about what happened to Gannon, Letecia would get upset. He said it was an effective way for her to not answer his questions.

Grusing said Letecia was reluctant to answering questions and didn’t give him any clues to help find Gannon.

Regarding her intelligence level, I’m sure the 3 full psych panels all included cognitive testing with an IQ score. Judging by her lack of problem-solving skills I’d be shocked if it’s above the 80’s.

The defense asking laypeople if she’s “very intelligent” is akin to prosecution asking them if she’s “sane”.

I think she's at least 100. I hope we do find out this week! I won't be too surprised if she's in the high 80's. I hope they did other cognitive tests on her, though.
