Dwight Falkofske, automotic forensic specialist for the FBI. He's the lab guy that extracted the raw data from the car parts. He's an electrical engineer with FBI training. He's twice been an expert witness. Worked on the Murdaugh case! In 2020 was a contractor for the FBI. Qualified as an expert witness.

Seems to think there were four devices, last witness said three.

Says that the job went right to the head of the queue because of the case being a missing child.

Says that they provided investigators preliminary data early on, the final report was a year later.

Only one of the items had relevant data. Talking about the chain of custody.

Getting asked to explain how the electronic control unit works. He has notes. He's talking through how he processed it instead I think?

The extracted raw data from the chips. Combed the file systems for information that was relevant. Location data. Geo co ordinates and timestamps. They make it into a file that can plot all the co ordinates onto Google Earth. Also provided a PDF of points of interest. Provided these to case agent Feb 12th. Verifies that the evidence, a SD card, contains the final data.

Defense checks that the final data did not have any discrepancies with the preliminary data. It didn't, so they have no objection.

And we're done with this witness!

Witnesses are going faster than they thought, so we get a long lunch! Two more witnesses today, locals.

Three tomorrow morning from out of state. Friday may be a down day?

Back at 1:30

Back after a.m. break. Next witness called is FBI special agent David Donati, who worked in #COS at the time of Gannon’s disappearance and who handled Stauch’s vehicle’s telematics system, which tracks GPS data, car movement, dates & times, etc.

Donati said he sent that device securely to FBI HQ in Quantico, VA for experts to analyze. He said he received data points from Stauch’s travels from that analysis but did not elaborate on what that data said.

Glad it’s almost over.

Next witness was FBI electronics engineer Dwight Falkofske, who explained to the jury how the device is combed for information, including geocoordinates and time stamps. Still no info on what those coordinates/dates were.

To bad for her she wasnt interested in any of that way way before now. Google searches ,rentals cars ,text messages phone swaps... It is almost like she grew up without basic T.V. Like weird.

So far, this has been a well-run courtroom by a great Judge. Very pleasant trial to watch compared to some that are a pain with all kinds of objections and sidebars. We'll be getting expert testimony from mental health witnesses which hopefully will be interesting. The State lined up their witnesses in an order that built in a logical fashion. Things are making sense, and I hope the Jurors feel the same way. Lunch time.

Weird right ,she murdered him..I hope in closing they pull the timeline in and show us exactly where she was and what she was doing while v/s where Gannon was at each moment. I think they have done well with not putting out on what "they think " happened .
But i really want them to!

FBI Device Analyst Dwight Falkofske, who testified for the state as a car electronic device expert, detailed Alex Murdaugh's car activity the night his wife and son -- Maggie Murdaugh and Paul Murdaugh -- were gunned down.

Unfortunately a very busy work day and I haven't been able to watch. I'm trying to get caught up through WS posts. Thank you everyone.

And a bit of juvenile humor, since I am reading and not hearing what it actually is, I got a giggle when I read what I thought the likely pronunciation of this witness' name is. ;)

Judge Gregory Werner said witness testimony is going faster than expected this morning, so the court is breaking for lunch early until 1:30. Allen says he has 7 witnesses left, 2 of which are expected to testify this afternoon. 3 more are expected tomorrow.

Are any of her alt egos , alleged, cats? She is behaving like a tom cat when he is visiting a place that is not his own and where he needs to 'sidle up' to people...?
She psysically sickens me.

:D
The defense will be calling their witnesses to the stand late this week. Judge Gregory Werner said they’re ahead of schedule and could possibly begin jury instructions on Friday, with the jury reaching a verdict likely next week.

I bet LS was wishing he would do as his name suggests considering his job and how it helped nail her :D
