I'm pretty sure they said the insole sample was from sweat, skin cells? but to be honest I was just typing just as fast as I could at that point and may have misunderstood.

MOO

Ah right - I should have said "DNA." Body byproducts. We really don't know what kind of cell.

Good catch.

At any rate, those shoes were being worn day-to-day by LS and they had Gannon's blood on the bottom. It really amazes me that she thought she had cleaned up enough, she didn't get rid of the shoes, and her shoes are now evidence against her.

I guess the main point is that LS lied to AS and to Grusing and the blood evidence from Gannon in that basement room cannot be explained by Quincy, Eguardo, Money Belly Lady or whoever else she tries to point to.

IMO.

They talked about an 'unknown male' in a couple of places as part of the mixture. I presume it didn't come from LE or they would have been able to rule it out, but it could have been from any other random person who had been in the house at some point. A visitor, a delivery person, a moving company person. Heck, depending on where it was found, it could have been from a construction worker or decorator who built the home, it was only a year or two old.

MOO

Exactly. Could be from a carpet installer, etc. Or a builder. Hard to get samples from every tradesperson who has ever been in that house.

IMO.

I'm really interested to hear about what DID is and how it manifests.

I think the defense's expert will fall flat.... because while DID may be real, IMO T does not exhibit it!

Making up a cast of characters to cover for her own actions is not dissociation. Maybe I could stretch my logic if T described the events from Edgjuardo's vantage point and  didn't ascribe actions to her own personhood (being tied up, hitting her head, "giving in" to the sexual assault, providing a suitcase, chatting for an hour)! T was so good at DID that she dissociated into two identities in two different bodies?! Wow, that's some superdissociation.

I find no confusion in T. Like it was all a blur and then suddenly she had a gun in her hand and a ghastly scene in front of her, genuinely confused about what could have happened. No, there's only the part T doesn't want to talk about.

IMO T is a complex case study in personality disorders. Possibly all of them except for DID. I'm calling her unique soup of disorders a full Cluster F.

So, complex from a diagnostic standpoint but about as simple a person as they come. Fragile, immature, self-absorbed, needy. Hyper-focused on what people think of her, desperate to be liked (especially by men), uses her energy to manipulate people into thinking she's what she wants them to think she is. Instead of doing the work and becoming something, anything even halfway worthy.

What a waste.

So, I'm glad I got to hear the end of Grusing's testimony and the interview, but I was really glad with the lineup of witnesses today. A lot of really important evidence, quite technical, that still required a lot of fast typing, but wasn't so emotionally draining as listening to LS yadda yadda yadda blah blah blah for days on end. I particularly enjoyed the serology and DNA testimony.

So were there any dna results from the carpet that was rolled up in the storage room?

  • #426
Slowly and Gannon looked disoriented to me. Not the typical 11 year usually running to get in the truck for some fun errands.

Which we unfortunately know wasn't the scenario. :(
I don't ever want to see the video again and going with my initial reaction: Gannon did not want to go anywhere with LS at that moment. It was against his will, drugged or otherwise. JMO

Yes, the cut piece had blood consistent with Gannon's DNA.

As I sighed about early on, pick any true crime series, say, Forensic Files... The amount of folks in prison because they baulk at throwing out a pair of shoes is just ridiculous. They throw out their clothing, burn things, maybe even change the tyres on their car... but keep the shoes. I'm sure folks that do both DNA and shoe impressions thank whatever higher power (if any) they believe in that people are willing to go out of their way to commit and cover up a homicide but baulk at throwing out a pair of shoes that still have wear left in them. They think they can clean them. They think that they can scrub them with bleach or throw them in the machine and they'll be fine.

Always throw out the shoes. (Don't do crime.)

It seems odd to me the DNA of both girls in the house wasn't collected to rule it out of the samples. I wonder why that wasn't done?
She's admitting to killing him in her plea, so I'm assuming that's why.

The exemplar samples were taken within a few days of Gannon's disappearance. If they had felt there was a need to take samples from the girls, then they would have then or thereabouts, long long long before LS pled to anything.

Fantastic pics!
Just jumping off your post, it has always bothered me the color of the “candle wax” on the floor vs. the color of the wax in the jar that it allegedly came from. I know this has or been discussed way back but it’s escaping me at the moment
Thank you!
And the color of the candle wax I have no delved into too much as I assumed the white you see on the jar was most likely just part of the design of the jar? Maybe even a layered candle. I would love to be able to find that particular candle. I do want to note for that amount of wax spillage, the candle had to have been burning for quite a bit.

In Dr. Lewis's documentary (Crazy: Not Insane), she seems very reliant on two tests -- an MRI and EEG.

I thought the Motion by the EPCJ's medical contractor (Wellpath) shared some insight about both tests that are likely typical evidence that's used to refute Lewis's stance.

IMO, unless there's a baseline, what's to say that an imperfection revealed on a test after the fact did not exist until after the murder, or that it was a defect since birth, and it did not cause LS to murder anybody before?

Well that's certainly true. I also believe everyone working this early on had their eyes on Stepmom for very good reasons.

IMO, he looked drugged. He went against his will, but I was thinking maybe he was seriously wounded and demon stepmother Letecia told him she was taking him to the hospital. :( I still feel shaken by all the details, the extent of the evil intent, and so sorry for Gannon.

Just want to say, that looks like so much candle wax for a short time burning a candle.

Has todays testimony ended?
Yep. We got a two hour lunch and then still finished an hour and a half early. Witness testimony is taking less time than they thought.

Forgive me for asking, but do we know that is spilled candle wax? As opposed to burnt carpet or even a blood stain?

This is the 5-page list of about 150 potential witnesses that have already been called or may be called by prosecutors to testify in the Letecia Stauch murder trial. District Attorney Michael Allen said 7 more witnesses will be testifying before they're finished their case.

We’ve learned who a few of the prosecutor’s witnesses are who still have to testify this week: - FBI Agent Kevin Hoyland - Dr. Jackie Grimmett with the Colorado Mental Health Institute in Pueblo - Dr. Loandra Torres with the Colorado Mental Health Institute in Pueblo
- Dr. Christine Mohr, Larned State Hospital, Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services

Here is the notice of endorsement of witnesses by Letecia Stauch's attorneys: - Dr. Ronda Niederhauser, UCHealth Memorial Hospital We expect to hear from Dr. Niederhauser late this week.

Sherrie Holes, a forensics serologist, testified saying a piece of carpet, electrical cover, scrub brush, empty vinegar bottle, an Amazon box, and a shoe believed to belong to Letecia Stauch, all tested positive for presumptive evidence of blood.

Holes said the shoes had a strong cleaning oder. She said the pink suitcase with a blue blanket inside, also tested positive for presumptive for evidence of blood. Fingernails from Gannon Stauch also tested positive for presumptive evidence of blood.

Donna Monague, the next witness to be called to the stand, developed a DNA profile from Gannon Stauch’s toothbrush.

Monague testified saying the carpet, outlet cover, electrical socket, carpet, scrub brush, Gannon’s bed, pink suitcase, blanket from suitcase and the Nike shoe that all tested positive for presumptive evidence of blood, all matched Gannon Stauch's profile.

The amazon box and vinegar bottle all matched Gannon Stauch's profile too.

Some of these items had two contributors, and were a mixture of unknown profiles. However, the major male profile matched Gannon Stauch.

No more witnesses will be called today. The murder trial for Letecia Stauch will resume tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.

I could see her brain whirring fast, her biggest concern is that she wants her shoes returned to her.. that's TEEE's big concern, her consTITootional property rights..
I want to shake her so badly....

Listening to the TS interview with Grusing and hearing her say that at the end of all of this she will never have to work another job made me almost hurl. I know she was referring to some wild idea that she would win some lawsuit. But, I keep thinking that she won't work another day in her life because she will be in prison for life..... if it wasn't so tragic for Gannon and his loved ones, it would feel relieving and a little pleasurable for me. Justice for Gannon!

I wonder if Laina or Landen will testify. I’m guessing no.
