May relate to every movie and tv show she ever watched. She stole her perps, and she stole her psych disorders. MOO, she's very unoriginal.

The first Defense Team.
Katherine Stroebel is the brunette standing, Lynn Chalmers the blonde seated next to the Defendant.

This morning when asking Grimmett a question he referred to Stroebel as “ Katie “

I don’t think the blonde in the gallery today is either one of them. But I could be wrong.

I believe this is her chief source of education...both real and imagined.

Impeaching the expert? On what basis?

Whu huh?

I think he's being condescending in a passive aggressive way that looks like friendly banter when it's not.
He’s bloviating. IMO

"I don't believe anything in this article is different than what we already discussed."

I think he's talking about Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria, now. Millions of people also live with this. It's not exclusive to Borderline, many people with ADHD also experience it. It is manageable with approaches like DBT (which was developed by someone with Borderline herself.)

Judge is only allowing them to read in certain parts of the article.

They're trying to impeach the witness.

Judge says they can read the parts they want from the article into record, but he has made the ruling.

They're saying that the competency evaluation seems 'a lot more thorough' than usual. She said most competency evaluations aren't part of a murder one case. But he's also kind of implying she didn't do a proper full evaluation because of COVID restrictions.

Here's a link on new research - they've found a gene that's associated with an anxiety diagnosis (apropros of yesterday's theme of anxiety disorders):

I'm guessing this is not the only gene that will be found, but the article states that 25% of Americans will report a symptom of anxiety to a treating physician at some time in their life (of which GAD and PTSD would be subsets, and many would not be formally diagnosed with any DSM Dx IMO).

This makes me nervous. He's trying to get the State's witness to agree that sometimes PD's can be mental illnesses. He's also trying to establish that a Dx of Borderline PD is a differential Dx for DID.

IMO.

Please don't be nervous.

Countless individuals have been diagnosed with PD's that are not deemed to have serious mental illness and are certainly not insane.

IMO, jurors are sufficiently armed with testimony to know who/what LS is and is not.

I think it's been hours since anyone mentioned Gannon.

Tolini is moving on to "his next chapter." Oh, my!

Is he being kind of flirty?

He is trying to appear charming, it's coming across as slimey imo.

Impeaching the expert? On what basis?

Whu huh?

And then saying that the expert had testified for him in the past

Agreed. My son is autistic and my nephew has ADHD, I strongly suspect my husband has one or the other, possibly both, and in all three the RSD is strong!.

Fun fact - the actor who plays Jasper in Twilight is Jackson Rathbone. He also played a character named Adam in an episode of Criminal Minds. Adam ends up being a murderer with DID. I bet you that LS had seen that episode.

I feel like we've moved away from Court and we're having a panel on What Makes T Tick.

Nothing compelling here to divorce her from her freely chosen actions.

Can we get back to Gannon please.l?

Defense is doing the exact thing they always do that makes me detest the job so much.
Even though this man knows his client brutally slaughtered a beautiful, helpless, defenseless child, he still tries his best to sway the jury.

Feign means "to give a false appearance or to fake something (such as illness)." Feint also involves deception, but usually refers to physical movements meant to distract an opponent, such as a fake punch. Lastly, faint as an adjective can mean "barely perceptible" and as a verb refers to losing consciousness.

feigning
noun
the act of pretending or putting on a show in order to deceive:

The feigning of hurt feelings is just a manipulative ploy she uses.
adjective
putting on a show in order to deceive; pretending:

“It hurts,” moaned the feigning child on the floor, gripping her ankle in a convincing display of pain.
