Jury is in. Judge just used the words 'epic snowmageddon'. :D

Witness: Dr Jackie/Jacqui Grimmett.

Sounds Scottish? Irish? There's something vaguely Celtic in her voice.

Agreed. She certainly has credentials - I'm really looking forward to her testimony.

Board certified forensic psychologist. Serves on the certification board.

Did competency evaluations for Colorado Mental Health... done a lot of competency and sanity evaluations. Has also treated patients, mostly veterans.

Explaining the difference between traditional therapy/evaluation and forensic evaluation.

Has been qualified as an expert at least 80 times in Colorado.

The witness is qualified as an expert.

She performed the second competency evaluation when the defense asked for a second opinion.

DBM.

She was approached by the DEFENSE to conduct the second competency evaluation.
I'm assuming the defense didn't agree with Dr. Grimmett's professional opinion.

Grimmett is testifying that she conducted one of the two competency evaluations on Stauch, not one of the sanity evaluations. A competency evaluation is a determination on if someone on trial is competent to proceed to trial or not.

I am surprised that, with the discovery of Gannon in Florida, they didn’t call agent Grusing back in to try to speak with Leticia with that new information on camera. Instead they had the psychologist tell her in the jail. Perhaps they attempted, and the attorneys shot it down. I suppose that’s the only angle they had at that point of someone that could speak to her without it being directly related to the crime-the angle of “losing a loved one”.
I think it was a matter of them not wanting her to hear it from another inmate or jail staff. And time was of the essence.

March 20 is when the public found out when LE and the DA had a big press conference to announce G had been found.

Grusing is based in Denver so would be at least an hour drive for him.

Met with LS for an evaluation that lasted 3 hours and 40 minutes. She only met with her once. LS is very verbose and likes to expand on her answers, so the interview took a long time. Witness had concerns about LS's prior testing due to invalid results.

Upon meeting LS, she was humming to herself. Her expression of emotions didn't fit with her actions. She said she was talking to a vampire.

Grusing, although retired from the FBI, has another full time job. And he is still consulting on the Barry Morphew case. I’m sure he is very busy.
