It says video recorded... that just means, as far as I can tell, that they taped it, like they did with the sessions with Dr Torres and Dr Grey that we saw yesterday. I don't see anything about it being done over Zoom. Did I miss something?

MOO
IMO, it's going to be video communication via whatever medium is being used in EPCJ.

Also, Dr. Lewis is very, low tech. She writes all of her notes in longhand and depends on her adult son to transcribe them because he can read her writing.

Since I wasn't big on multiple personality disorder long before it was renamed DID, I wanted to do additional research for any updated info since the identification changed in 1994 to dissociative identity disorder, and didn't want to be surprised by some novel assessment.

I only wish Dr. Grimmett's testimony came a week earlier to save me the time since she confirmed in her testimony that DID remains very rare -- she's never seen it and probably won't ever see it.

What percentage of the world has DID?

Dissociative identity disorder (DID) is a rare psychiatric disorder diagnosed in about 1.5% of the global population. This disorder is often misdiagnosed and often requires multiple assessments for an accurate diagnosis. May 17, 2022

IMO, the rub here is that the defense expert, Dr. Lewis, 85, is pretty much the pioneer for promoting DID as a criminal defense for murderers, But then there's not too much competition for experts of a rare mental condition used to keep criminals out of prisons.

But probably more important as evidence of LS being misdiagnosed by Lewis is that most patients generally spend 5-13 years in treatment before being diagnosed with DID. We know that LS fails this generality miserably.

IMO, the defense more or less threw a dart at the wall to come up with DID since narcissism is not a respectable or sympathetic excuse for murdering a little boy.

To summarize, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-5)criteria for DID include at least two or more distinct personalities. Each personality varies in behavior, sense of consciousness, memory, and perception of the outside world. Persons with DID experience amnesia, which essentially are distinct gaps in memory and recollections of daily and traumatic events. They cannot be directly related to substance use or part of cultural norms or practices. Importantly, these symptoms must cause a notable lack of functioning in day-to-day life

IMO, LS diagnosis was purchased and I believe the jurors will see through the smoke and mirror of sympathetic Dr. Lewis.

It was Lewis who advised the Defense to change LS’s plea in February 2022. Without doing an evaluation.

I remember! Long before they identified her other than an out-of-state expert, and before she ever evaluated LS, the defense first tried to entertain that partial NGRI defense that was supposed to cover only the period of packing up little G-man, driving him to Florida, and tossing him over the rail. In other words, it's been a joke to them all along.

It's in the discovery request that @Seattle posted today. It's on a list in which all the other employees of the detention facility appear to be mentioned by class of employment. It does not request any specific things about LS except her handwriting.

IMO.
Thank you!

I don't see how we can know, either way. But I doubt that Dr Lewis travelled to Colorado Springs. Perhaps she did. Somewhere there's an article on her consulting method. I'll try to find it.

It's less important to me that they video'ed it (hopefully without LS's knowledge), than that Dr. Lewis actually came to CoSprings.

Given that there were some difficulties getting her to present her report on time, I am surprised if she made the trip on those days and then didn't give the report to the Court in a more timely fashion (while the events were fresh, as video cannot record the micro-expressions and other aspects that are necessary - IMO - to a Dx of DID).

Now I'm really wondering if those interviews will be shown in Court. Three days is a lot of interviewing, if in fact we are to understand that Dr Lewis spent 3 days interviewing her. The way it's worded (defendant "participated" instead of "defendant was interviewed by") is, I guess, what makes me think it was a tele-visit.

I'd like to read the words "seen by" but I sure am curious to see what "participation" Letecia brought to those sessions.

I hope Dr Lewis isn't going to try and present "alters" from three days of interviews, whether in person or otherwise. It will be much more convincing, though, if she was there in person, IMO.

It doesn't have to be Zoom - but I can't shake the idea that this was done remotely. I feel as if the discovery documents would mention this as an in person interview, if it were. But maybe not.

IMO.

Good point. That also makes me wonder how it is that the defense has money for all this travel by Dr. Lewis (two trips, now, on the table). Maybe both sides had the same budget (the State had to fly in their experts, too - but they didn't have to pay for previous trips, before trial).

I really don't like that, in essence, this DID/NGRI began before the evaluation. Maybe that's the source of my suspicion.

IMO. And I have a bias. None of the psychiatrists I've worked with are able to diagnose DID without long term, regular therapeutic contact with a patient. It's a very debilitating illness, with the primary symptom being amnesia. I don't see any amnesia in this damnable woman.

It's great to be able to type that and just say it's my opinion.

JMO. I hope the State has good cross-examination of the defense's expert. it's actually a strategic move by the defense (their only one!) They are handing the whole case over to Dr. Lewis and her expertise, basically.

I'm even more behind now. I am at the video evidence of the interviews with Dr. Torres and Dr. Grey.
I have so much to say.... but I will save it until I am caught up.

Have we figured out where Edjguardo came from?

Noting along with everyone else, she's not capable of original thought so....
Eduardo Escobar baseball player. Different spelling, but it's coming from Tecia and she probably doesn't know herself. She's a whack job, but totally sane, IMO.

No court on Thursdays, so maybe you aren’t as behind as you think!

Nah, Morticia is elegant and relatively pretty ;)

And quite classy. No one in the Addams family is remotely like Letecia. Letecia is heinous. It's still mind-boggling, what she did to Gannon. I wonder if she had made other attempts on his life at other times. I really do.

IMO.

Wondering, is it just me or do others see BIG blank spots in the forum posts? It almost looks like something's missing.
It's odd. I've never seen it look like this before.

Maybe I misheard but didn't we learn that was her brother's middle name ?

I saw some random person on Twitter say that but I think his middle name is James after his Dad.

That third one must be the "biological son" that T keeps mentioning in her letters to the Judge.

The "main personality" must not show up much, as Taylor would be very confused to have a different husband and to have different children (none of them with an A name).

IMO.
I just had a random thought reading your post.
How old was she when her half-brother was born?

There's actually someone named Eguardo??

There are a number of Spanish-language products named Eguardo (anti-virus; home security things). And it is considered to be occasionally used in Mexico. There are some video games also using the name.

But if you search for Eguardo's on FB (much used by Mexicans, Mexican-Americans and other Spanish speakers), you find zero of them. At least I did. The artist's actual name is Edguardo Simone.

I really dislike T's use of Spanish names for the Bad Guys in her story.

IMO.

I've made no recent changes to anything but yes, this is the way the forum looks now. Huge gaps between posts.

I just had a random thought reading your post.
How old was she when her half-brother was born?

I don't know - but that's interesting. Her brain is really befuddled and unusual. Her mother was (apparently) originally a Hardin. Then married and became Lowry, right?

I think I can find the half-brother's birthdate if I try. I hate to say much about him, but birthdate might be publicly available.

IMO.

Didn't take long (I have a couple of subscription databases that rely on public information). He is 13 years younger than Letecia, I believe. He was born in 1998, I believe.

So. You may have solved that mystery. T. reminds me a little bit of my Histrionic cousin (we buried her last week and it's a very sad story). She got things all muddled. It is awful, actually and very damaging to the whole family. Could that be who T. is referring to? The...aggrandizement of the relationship is a very familiar thing to me. The half-brother becomes "the biological son." It's a kind of loose association.

IMO.
