I truly worry about her ability to get out, though (like that guy in Canada who chopped off a fellow traveler's head, on a bus - served a very brief sentence before he was stabilized and released on anti-psychotics).

She's a con artist and was able to charm AS and LH, well enough that they thought she'd be an okay parenting figure for their kids. She will do the same at the mental hospital.

And after a while, she'll get out. IMO. There's no determined sentence with the NGRI - she's not guilty, at that point, and when she's no longer "insane," she gets to walk. She's capable of playing that long game and being a model prisoner. IMO.

I hope both of Gannon's parents are pleased with a Guilty verdict. I really hope that's what happens.

IMO.
That Canada case was absolutely horrific, but that guy was like, textbook definition insane. He did seem genuinely horrified and remorseful once his delusions had stopped. Not sure how I feel about him being out given that he could potentially become dangerous again in the future, but I bet the fact that he expressed remorse played a big role in him being released. Obviously Canada’s legal system is super different from the U.S. anyway, but I’d honestly be shocked if anyone was ever willing to release LS provisionally for any reason after what she’s done. She has too much pride to truly apologize.

(IMO)

I thought the jury questions were great. They were pertinent and definitely showed they weren't being intimidated by the witness' claimed 'expertise'. MOO

Someone needs to make a documentary exposing Dr Lewis.

Doesn't the MMP-2 test for malingering?

Interesting that Dr. Lewis is perfectly willing to entertain the idea that Leticia is lying when it comes to possible abuse of Gannon using enemas. But not when it comes to claiming her already deceased stepdad just died in order to get out of work. Or faking an accent or persona to get a less harsh prison sentence.
I'd be interested to know if , in NZ, a stepmother would be allowed to administer such a thing to a stepchild. ( love the avatar, btw, ) It seems a terrifically invasive and risky procedure on a child, by an amateur. What was the father thinking in going along with this?.. or the kids doctor? . or his mother? or, . anyone , anyone ?? Where there protocols set up where she was supervised at this procedure?.. of all the elements of this murder, this aspect is so ghastly, that poor poor kid, it defies belief, ..

Why Letetia would 'volunteer' to do it, to a child not her own, even her own , is a whole other story, found in the DSM-IV , under fetish and sadistic behaviours, I reckon.

I don't think I will be able to believe LS will not take the stand until I hear the defense say they rest and I haven't seen her up there. She has all night and all day Thursday and all night Thursday to change her mind and create a list of questions for her lawyers to ask her. She is just idiotic enough to think she, in a child like persona, can double speak answers to the prosecution and prove to the jury she is insane now as she was then. She's not above trying to pull one last fast one.
I’m thinking the same thing. She is so flippant that I would not at all be shocked if she decides to testify last minute.

I really hope she doesn’t, though. At this point, it’s not going to affect the verdict one way or another. I have to wonder if she’s intimidated after seeing Dr. L get absolutely destroyed in cross.

oh , she'll find a way. ... . shouting from the well of the court, .. at some point , the judge may, and probably will ask her if she has anything to say, probably after sentencing, and she'll go off like a penny bunger. The deputies will have to go into a scrum to get her out, she is so involved and wrapped up in this endless glory , this hour by hour attention paid to what she said and what she did, and when she did it, and why she did it, and on and on. She does not want this trial to ever end. It is the culmination of her whole life. Finally, attention is being paid.

Gannon was a means to an end. It could have been Liana, it could have been poor Albert, it could have been anyone. Gannon was handy.
Agreed.
This is her autobiography and show.
She's looking to be remembered and talked about. She wants to be infamous.

she really just answered “yes” when asked if she did tests to check if symptoms were being faked?

That is obviously a lie considering how much she likes to go on tangents, but I think the jury is wise to that.

I don't know for sure but I would imagine it would be okay as long as it was a prescribed treatment & one of the custodial parents gave permission. Blended families and extended families are pretty common here. But since medical care is free for kids up to 15 years old, I don't see why parents or guardians wouldn't be encouraged to bring the kids to be checked out/treated by a local GP if they're experiencing intestinal issues on a daily basis. Registered nurses are certified & can also administer/prescribe some medications to children.

I'm glad the juror asked about the use of daily enemas affecting the relationship, since Leticia and Dr Lewis both mentioned it. It was something that made me go hmmm, too. Especially since it's clear she has a sadistic/petty streak.

One forgets , Z, that universal health care isn't everyhere. ! Of course, here, and there where you are, stepparents and parents would take the kid to the clinic, to be treated by a professional. I have no idea how much it would cost to have a child being subjected to regular weekly enemas, in Colorado. It would probably be exorbitant, and a huge impost on a household budget. Even so.... if it was free, Leticia would probably make sure she did it, because she knows everything and there is a tremendous amount of punishment and revenge one can project in that procedure, he a small child , she a maniac adult.

What a peculiar and diminishing life she chose to lead....

I've been wondering if this was somewhat of a munchausen by proxy situation. I think it's interesting she was giving him laxatives, inserting enemas, and his toxicity report indicated he had hydrocodone in his system. I know he had gastrointestinal issues but I wonder to what degree she was exacerbating these symptoms to show how good of a mother she was by "taking care" of him.
I agree. I've also wondered if some of it started that Sunday to lure AS back home. I can't remember which one, but in an interview LS did with a detective stated something to the effect of, "telling Laina to hype up or exaggerate something happening so AS would come home early". I definitely think she created problems whether it involve G behavior or health when AS would be gone so it'd look like she was always having to parent or take care if him on her own.

I obviously couldn't hear it, but I'm imagining that it went a bit like this:

Dr Lewis: "Yes."

(Narrator: "She did not do any tests.")

MOO

Juror question 5: Earlier, you said people with DID are more susceptible to believe what people say to them, then why do you openly talk about potential theories and explanations in front of the defendant during the interview.

In both the HBO documentary featuring Dr. Lewis and publications citing her critics, each opined they were uncomfortable with Lewis's interview technique where they believed she encourages the subject's alleged alter -- similar to what we see in court objections "leading the witness."

I can understand this criticism. IMO, I believe the subjects experience Dr. Lewis as sympathetic and easy to talk to because she does not appear to react to the most horrific details. Unphased, she just moves on to the next question. It's actually kind of creepy that she also retells details and seems disconnected from the words coming from her mouth. MOO

Man, you guys, I just noticed my join date on WS was March 4, 2020. I remember learning about Gannon on Facebook a couple of days after he went "missing". I was just drawn to this sweet little boy like everyone here. I found WS soon after and lurked for a while until eventually joining. What a long road it's been. May justice soon be served for Gannon and his family.

Good point. She definitely made it known to Al that she had to “come up with an excuse” not to go to work so that she could stay home with him when she could have just left that part out.
