...I’m not waiting until 9:00 to open WebEx. Just in case there is something brought up before the Jury is brought in. I’m going to peek in at 8:45...
I'm so glad you're going to be checking it out early. I know you'll keep us posted. I didn't expect the cameras to be set-up so that we could see anything until it's time for the Verdict.

Will they set up cameras early? I guess you're right that the Judge will have to give them more instructions after a weekend, probably want it recorded. I think it'll be quick though, and the Jurors will go back into deliberation. We, on the other hand, will be waiting and getting nervous the longer it takes. I do think the Jurors will get it right.

I was bitterly disappointed on Friday but having the weekend to readjust my thinking I realized a few things.

We know a lot more than the Jury. Those of us that followed from Day 1 and saw what Tee was up to on Social Media have more insight.

We were able to research Dr. Lewis and were discussing her “theories” and the Documentary. I’m going to suggest that the Jurors did not.

We knew about the 3 hour “get together” with Tee, Dr. Lewis and her lawyer on the Sunday which set us all abuzz. The Jury did not.

We’ve been discussing this case for 3 years. The Jury has not.

Although it’s a slam dunk for us it’s going to take some discussion amongst the Jurors to wade through the evidence. I think they’ll make the right choice.

I have faith.
I understand a jury has to be fair. What doesn’t seem right to me is for us to know more than the jury knows. They have to decide guilt based upon what the prosecution can convince them of, or innocence based on what a defense attorney can convince them of. It seems like such a game when we all know she is guilty. If there is a lot more out there, the prosecution should be able to bring it. I hate to think of this criminal going to a hospital and one day walking out. That’s so unfair to Gannon.

No, respectfully, :) I heard the Judge ask her when he was questioning whether she understood her right to take the stand. He specifically asked her if she was on some type of drug, and I thought she said no. Gee, was it my imagination?... I can't be the only one that heard that.
Hey @Curious Me, You're not the only one that heard that. I recall hearing it, but I somewhat doubted myself because there is so much info to retain. For some reason I remembered what was said on RA. ;)

What does everyone think we’ll see/hear Monday morning?

Some of my assumptions/speculation from viewing other trials :

Jury was dismissed at 5:00 p.m. on Friday May 5 and told that they would resume deliberations at 9:00 a.m. on Monday May 8.

I assume that Jury will be brought into the Courtroom at 9:00 and Judge Werner will greet them and ask them what he always asks- Has anything changed that would affect their ability to be fair and impartial. He’ll want this on the record in open Court.

I assume he will give them the advisement /admonishment that they are not to talk to anyone or let anyone talk to them about the case. One difference- they can now discuss amongst themselves, but only within the Jury room.

I assume he might advise them what will happen if they are still deliberating at Noon and if they will be able to leave for Lunch and for how long.

I assume he might tell them what will happen at 5:00 p.m. if they are still deliberating. Will he dismiss them until 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday or will he tell them that he will let them decide if they want to continue past 5:00 ? I know I’ve seen trials where the Judge did this. Perhaps the Redwine trial?

Will the Judge advise the lawyers to be close by and available in case the Jury should send him a note with a question?

Let me know if y’all think I’m off base with any of this lol.
Or if I’ve forgotten anything.

As you can tell, I’m already on huge pins and needles.

I’m not waiting until 9:00 to open WebEx. Just in case there is something brought up before the Jury is brought in. I’m going to peek in at 8:45.

You never know with this case so far.

I will not be surprised if the prisoner/defendant has a case of food poisoning that prevents her from being present tomorrow morning.

All just my speculation JMO
I was so upset on Friday evening, I am not getting my hopes up that the jury will make a decision on Monday, or even the correct decision. I don’t want to lose my faith in juries and Casey Anthony’s jury was long, long ago but I told myself I would never agin get involved in a trial involving a child. Yet here I am. I pray they she LS for what she is.

Decided I was going to take a break from murder and mayhem this weekend. That said, I've watched four episodes of Dateline and three episodes of 48 hours, LOL.
I must say that I'm nervous about the verdict. I guess it's because this is the first time I've followed a plea of insanity. Whole different animal, IMO. I'll see y'all in the morning. Sleep good.
I do the same. Thought I shall try the opposite ... I will listen to a ton of podcasts!
Don't watch tv, so podcasts are my jam. lol

Sleep well, and see ya in the morning for justice for Gannon!

All MOO. I am very dependent on visuals in my learning process and memorization. This chart helps me when talking about clusters and which ones Letecia seems to exhibit.

The Prosecution's Psychologists seem to pin point Letecia as having Borderline with Narcissistic features, but it seems like so much more. Whatever it is, I agree, it's woven deep within her personality. JMO though.

@Curious Me This is very nice. Thank you for sharing.

BPD with Narcissistic features oozes from LS's pores. If she did, I don't recall Dr. Lewis mentioning them. I was surprised Dr. Torres didn't note Histrionic Personality Disorder as it's often a comorbidity of BPD and NPD. And it wouldn't be too far of a stretch to throw in Antisocial Personality Disorder and give her a full house "cluster B cocktail." The long term prognosis for just one is extremely poor.

LS proved herself to be a danger to anyone she cannot manipulate and she is an escape risk. A NGRI verdict would render LS a threat to staff and vulnerable patients as well as the surrounding community. I wish the jury could take that into consideration.

I'll see you all in the morning for a dedicated day of Verdict Watch for justice for Gannon.

I've been following via RA's live stream and it's been quite reliable.

Saw this today for BEREAVED MOTHERS DAY
They look so beautiful .

Tomorrow baby boy ,she will live in jail for 4 times as many days as Jesus let you suffer earth. Never will she know the joy the first 6 hours of your life, the desire to survive will eclipse her and she will want death in a sterile environment ,but it wont come to her until old age.

Did we hear anything in the trial about her presumably false claim (in a letter to the judge I think) that she has a son?
I thought her Aunt Diane already said that was tosh.

It may have been on SM so don't quote me, IMO.

  • #571
I wonder whether she will be dressed in black?
Sorry.
Nope ,she will be wearing the same alternating hair-fort -joker laugh-dead dildo on the right look she had on this whole 5 -6 weeks or the one she had on all her life. Neither of them seem appealing. IMO!

I did not , what is the WS version of the rumor run down? (working with perimeters as best you can ) Please? I got an inbox too.

Honestly, the more I've thought about this case since Friday at 5 when all the jurors left, I think they've reached a verdict and are going back just to fill out the papers. I strongly believe it's guilty, no insanity.

I am with you 100%! If I were on a jury and later learned there was information withheld that would change my vote, I'd be very upset to carry that burden. In this case, I believe the jury should know the defense expert witness showed up late ... every time. That behind the back of the court, defense counsel and the expert witness met with the defendant for 3 hours. These actions speak to the credibility of the one giving testimony. The jury is making a most important decision that impacts the victims of the horrific murder of an innocent child. IMOO.

When Dave Young began his closing argument with showing us a picture of Gannon, I burst into tears. I felt his anger because too much of the trial was about a deceitful Leteshia and her phony expert witness. Together, they made me so sick that I was unable to watch to video.

All is just my opinion mixed with tears and frustration with this trial.

Me too!! Again the jury deliberated for about 26 hours before reaching its decision in the Jodi Arias trial. Jodi Arias will spend life in prison......BAM!!!!

I’m still betting on a guilty verdict for murder but I’ve been wondering over the weekend: what happens if Letecia is found NGRI? Obviously she’d be committed to a hospital, but would she ever get out if she’s deemed not dangerous?

I found this NY Times article that talks about how people found NGRI often end up in a psych ward indefinitely. (Note: I don’t have a NY Times subscription but it still let me read the article) For minor charges, this can apparently sometimes be longer than they would have spent in prison had they pleaded guilty to the charges.

Most states evidently have no specific rule or limit on how long someone can be committed after pleading NGRI. Most do regular reviews and have a process for requesting to discharge a patient on the grounds that they’re no longer dangerous, but it’s never a guarantee that they’ll actually get discharged. The article goes into a lot more depth about the potential obstacles that could arise in the process.

This is a massive oversimplification, but it sounds like in many cases, DAs and judges have a lot of power over the decision to release someone NGRI, and may be able to override a doctor’s findings that someone is sane and no longer dangerous. In some cases, the judge can even override the findings of the state’s own doctors if they also find the person same/not dangerous. It sounds like they often exercise this power when a particularly violent or depraved offender comes up for review. MOO but if Letecia were found NGRI, I could see something like that happening with her.

None of this is specific to Colorado, but CO is mentioned in the article as having responded to a FOA request stating they did not have records pertaining to the length of stay of people found NGRI.

MOO; this is what I gleaned from this article and just wanted to summarize what I found to be the relevant bits. It’s definitely worth a read but it is a bit lengthy.

I'm with you both, and I like your positive message, @Warwick7. She's sane and guilty.

However, this is just a different kind of trial compared to the Jodi Arias Trial because of the NGRI insanity defense. She was going for a self-defense reasoning.

Seeking Justice for Travis Alexander I followed (both) those trial(s) extensively, and they sure didn't feel like a quick BAM. Jodi took the stand and was on the stand for 18 days. It was a circus, Judges and Attorneys forced to talk about lots of sex.

"The case attracted worldwide attention as salacious and violent details about Arias and Alexander were broadcast live. The guilt phase of Arias’ trial ended in 2013 with jurors convicting her of murder but deadlocking on punishment. A second sentencing trial ended in early 2015 with another jury deadlock, leading a judge to sentence Arias to life."

IMO it probably comes down to technicalities in what would be reasonable to admit as evidence, but you’re right; it isn’t fair to Gannon.

On the bright side, I personally feel like the prosecution has done a very good job at presenting their case. I obviously can’t speak for any of the jurors, but if I were in their position, I’d be partial to the prosecution’s argument in part because they brought numerous witnesses to the stand, while the defense only brought two.

MOO. I’m still feeling a bit anxious about tomorrow
