I don't know if this has been said before, so I apologise if it has. I've been pondering over a few days and as lots have noted on here before, there is snippets of truth in LS lies and she said in one of the interviews that Gannon knew she was planning to leave and wanted to be with his Mum and her story (lie) was she was going to take them back to LH.
I think Gannon had told her he wanted his Mum, and I think he said it in despair. I want to live with my mum, you are not my mum, something along those lines. I think this was what made her do it.

Appreciate your post. I've been thinking this was her trigger ... she appears to have to be center of attention. Even though she didn't love Gannon and she was ready to move on, but she wanted revenge. No way would someone else be more superior than her (in her mind). moo

Yes, they were all peri-mortem, but we cannot know (due to destruction of his body).

One theory I've had is that LS was already experiencing significant amounts of anxiety about her treatment of Gannon. He was getting older and was going to tell on her, and not just in a child's way - in an increasingly convincing way, perhaps to a mandated reported. She knew she was in trouble.

She sensed AS pulling away from her. If she sensed it, Gannon probably did too. Perhaps sweet Gannon would tell someone about his homelife?

So she decides to do something about him (she doesn't "like" him - because he holds the key to her grifting future; he can tell what he knows, and that's awful for T's American Dream).

I am not sure she set out to kill him that weekend, but I think she was practicing at first. Once he was burned (did she really mean to kill him then??) she was up the creek without a paddle.

While his body might not have told a lot about his abuse (even if discovered after a few hours), if Gannon had lived, he could have told about his abuse. That may well be the motive for this crime.

IMO. She killed him to keep him from telling his parents what was going on in that house (which likely was devious and left little physical evidence, but still involve abuse of a child - such as the frequent enemas and her likely use of his medications/giving him medications not prescribed for him).

IMO

JMO, if I had been one of these jurors, especially with all the antics of Dr Lewis at the end, it wouldn’t have been hard to convince me that going home for the weekend and returning with a clear head on Monday was the right call.

And if LS spends the weekend in suspense … too bad.
100% agreed! Friday being end of the week can be tough...moo

Letecia Stauch trial: Jury dismissed after 4 hours of deliberation

Zachary Dupont [email protected]
May 5, 2023 Updated 49 min ago

The jury started deliberations Friday afternoon in the trial against Letecia Stauch, who is accused of killing her 11-year-old stepson, Gannon Stauch, more than three years ago.
After five weeks of trial the attorneys in the case gave their closing arguments, where the key focus for both the prosecution and the defense was the sanity of Stauch. Following the end of rebuttal 12 jurors were sent to begin deliberations, and after four hours of deliberation the jury was sent home for the day at around 5 p.m. Deliberations will resume on Monday morning.

Prosecutors Dave Young and Michael Allen spoke heavily about how Stauch's actions weren't those of someone suffering from psychosis, but rather those of a manipulative person who did not suffer from any severe mental illness.

Our mutual friend also expressed confidence that with every minute the jury is out deliberating her fate, Letecia's anxiety level is increasing exponentially.

The proverbial sword is now dangling over her head.

All she can do is sit helplessly and wait for it to fall.

The anticipation is killing her.

Slowly.
I like that and can actually visualize it.
LS deserves nothing less.

Media says the jury failed today to....
But, that's so not right. Scott Peterson went on for days and yet he is in prison.
Emotionally, I agree with the media.

I had hoped the verdict would be in today. I would imagine they have lots to go through and if it was a straight guilty on murder without the insanity issue they would have been done. The idea of insanity complicates the discussion. I think they need time to sort through each count carefully and methodically.

With Alex M trial, there were tons of pundits calling it not guilty but so many of us looked at what was presented and knew it would go against him. I think this trial is going to be the same.
BBM This is spot on, imo. Agree that once the insanity issues are cleared and/or/a full explanation is provided to any/all jurors who are not understanding then a verdict will be reached. moo

Me neither. I’m stunned. I know which way this is going to go, but I’m just annoyed at the delayed ending.
They had to eat. That took awhile..
Then they spoke for the first time, all 12 together..
and had to elect a foreman, I don't know what methodology is used for that process.

Then they had to divide 60 pieces of paper between 12 of them..
That bit alone would take me forever..

Then discuss each piece, 12 opinions on each piece.. still new to each other..

Coffee break, more relaxed now with each other, chatting and joking, maybe...??

Then back to the pieces of paper

90 minutes lunch?

30 minute coffee break?
30 minutes trying to figure out how to elect a foreman/
12 opinions on everything..

Realistically the prosecution handed them everything on a plate leaving no room or very miniscule amounts of room for debate, should have been quick.

I'd say by lunchtime on Monday it will be sorted or there's a problem.

I can't imagine what that problem might be.

Is that over simplistic?

Nah, jury didn't fail to reach a verdict. They're not done.

T failed. At everything in her path.

The jury is deliberating. Taking their charge seriously.

They got this.
AGREE !!!

She is a weather gal after all, so hopefully she will see the T-Storm coming.

So, I heard most of Prosecutor's closing statements today, but due to darn work well, I missed ALL of defense closing statements and when the case was handed over to the jury.
I will need to go listen to today's youtubers.

Came home after work to see jury in deliberations, then went to dinner, came home and Jury done for the weekend.
UGH..--- I know we are all waiting patiently for the GUILTY , not Insane verdict.

So-- we wait... I am here with all of you patiently waiting.

I am here for Gannon !!!

I think I would probably want to sleep on it if I were a jury member . Not because of doubt but wanting to hear fellow jurors out and exchange for the first time. There have been good juror questions. En fin a lot to discuss together.

Speaks volumes to go for a fresh start on Monday

Many thanks for the updates , comments and friendly company!!

I think i still have the VHS recording of the verdict being read against Scott! I was cheering at my TV the way sportsfans do when their team wins. Glorious justice.
So was I. All alone in my living room cheering. Felt funny when I realized what I was doing.

I'm working all weekend, but I'm off Monday and can deal in real time!

RBBM

In my opinion, what made her do it is that she hated and resented him, and destroying him made her feel powerful.

Anyone who didn't already have that hatred in their heart and the desire to kill wouldn't consider homicide if their stepson said this. They might be hurt, they might be angry, but they would not ever in their wildest, most emotional thoughts feel that killing was a good resolution for perfectly normal, preadolescent frictions caused by growing independence and the complexities of a blended family.

What made her do it is that she selfishly thought she had the right to choose violence and act out against everybody in her life. By killing Gannon, she hurt absolutely everybody. By hiding him and lying and lying and lying, she turned the screws to an unbearable sticking point.

She's a sadist and a narcissist. It wouldn't have mattered what Gannon did or didn't say, how affectionate he was to her, none of it, because SHE decided she didn't like him, and that removing him would fix her life. Those phone calls, they're very telling. She thought Gannon's death would fix her marriage. It's sickening.

MOO
I love what you have put forth here, @iamshadow21, as much as I hate the truth of it and am sickened by LS and her horrific, disgusting crimes against an innocent young boy.

Although I have only been watching from the sidelines, I wholly trust in you and everyone here who are carrying the torch for justice for Gannon day by day.

You are right about this ^^, in my estimation.

I can speak from some unfortunate experiences having known stepparents whose behavior was very antagonistic towards their stepchildren.

While their behavior never rose to horrific and murderous proportions like what LS allegedly did to Gannon, they were were still horribly competitive with them in terms of A$$ -- assets, attention, and status.

Their narcissism and self-absorption and lack of decency and caring parenting behavior for any of their partner's prior progeny, very sadly, simply meant they didn't care about anyone but themselves, no less the child they had decided was 'in their way'.

I may not know what I'm talking about here, so please feel free to correct me, just weighing in from the sidelines.

Keep up the good work, Justice for Gannon is coming! JMO

As we wait
Just reflecting on how shocked I was at how much brutality, how many savage separate life ending attacks she forced him to endure.

And endure he did. :(
Hearing him and his despair about the burns and what a long insufferable night he must have had.
We know for sure he had those and likely the blunt force head trauma but thats only a guess. I surmise that because I suspect he would have been restless all night with the burns...(pestering her....) a catastrophic head injury likely had him in and out of consciousness. (and calm and still )

Gannon as your momma said....'you are my hero little man" xx

I have never understood why anyone would beat kids or hurt one. Let alone kill a child. If LS didn't like Gannon, fine, ignore him, leave him in front of the TV. Give him a bunch of cheap burritos. Done.

There is really something wrong with LS. And that whole cross country trip, with Gannon's body in the trunk. She didn't even try to hide the body, just tossed it of a bridge.

Oh it's such a letdown to not have a verdict yet and have to wait until Monday. I had to step away for a few hours after the jury went home, I was just so disappointed.

Like many, I can't help but wonder WHAT could possibly be taking so long. But I thought of several things... If 12 of us were to get together in a room to finally discuss the trial, after having been unable to discuss it at all while it was happening... Would we be finished talking after a mere 4 hours? Haha. Not likely. A LOT happened. This was a very long trial with 700+ pieces of evidence.

Imagine taking the charges one by one and discussing them in depth with 11 other people, allowing each person to share their their thoughts... So much s bound to come up - some remember something one way, others remember it differently - welp, gotta make sure we're getting that right... All these things take time. And the actual filling out of the paperwork can be tedious.

I think they followed Judge Werner's recommendation to not start with a vote and that meant starting with a discussion. It takes one person that loves to talk and literally hours can go by. But there is a lot to discuss and a lot to communally roll eyes about, and all in all, I'm not really surprised that it's taking a while longer than we hoped.

Hang tight everyone, Justice may be slow but it will be worth the wait!

May Gannon's sweet face be what lingers all weekend on the Jurors' minds while they hear her on that news video claiming to concerned with finding him. The gall, as in bitter poison of serpents, of that woman.

Jurors have all the puzzle pieces and just need to put it all together. Hearing Gannon say he's just worried about his burns. That puzzle piece of the Petco trip. Give them time to discuss it all and have the pieces click together. The realization that she was knowingly up to no good.

May they hear her ugly voice saying yada, yada, yada to Gannon's desperate searching father. Not crazy, but a nasty, manipulative woman. Come Monday I pray they will be ready to all agree on a verdict. Put her away for life please. MOO
