So it looks like court is set up for (my time) 11. I wonder if LS has to be there while they deliberate.

People of the State of Colorado v. Leticia Stauch - Jury Trial is Ongoing

This video doesn’t give the whole statement.
I love how they misspelled her first name on the screen.

Weird that I woke up this morning thinking of this video. I remember being on the early threads and almost all of us having a very hard time viewing her as innocent.

Since then, we now know that AS was telling her she could not come back into the house unless she told the truth. By then, LE was fairly convinced she had done something unspeakable to him. She, OTOH, was angry about being "kicked out" of her house, that Landen was there, and that she needed "her stuff." She was preparing to flee right before our eyes.

IMO

Wasn't Gannon going in and out doing the trash or whatever a way to explain away her activity on the security system motion detectors? Or am I thinking of something else? I'm thinking it was actually her throwing stuff away during the cleanup.

She's got 10 different stories to explain every single element of this crime, so the smaller ones like this are harder for me to remember clearly. Forgive me if I'm wrong!
Yes you are right. Early on we thought she was dumping buckets of water out in the backyard. But now, that we know that there is a trash can with remnants in it, yes, that's going to explain a few of the motion sensors. But if I remember correctly there were like 10 the security detected motions. Early on in some interviews or something she was coming up with an excuse blaming Landon for wanting to abduct Gannon. It's been so long ago I can't remember everything.

Correct me if Im wrong, but doesnt Colorado have a 100% conviction rate for jurors? Meaning all of them have to have the same vote?

Yes. "Conviction rate" to me means "percent of people convicted," though and doesn't refer to jurors. Yes, all must agree.

I'm not sure if there's any place in the US that's different than that. We've got people from all over, maybe someone lives somewhere that doesn't require unanimity for a verdict, but I do believe it's throughout the US that we must have all jurors agree. I believe there are some place experimenting with a different number than 12 jurors for some types of crimes.

IMO.

Yes, she does.

I would guess they keep her in the Court's holding cell for prisoners while deliberations go on.

During the 30 minutes in between the Jury notifying the Bailiff they have concluded deliberations, the Judge is summoned, the State and the Defense are notified to be there (hmm, wonder if Cook can be on time for this?), and the Defendant is brought up to the Courtroom.

When all is ready (Judge already knows the verdict, but we don't), the Jury is brought in as usual and we have to wait a couple more minutes for the Foreman to read the verdict into the record.

I'm getting teary eyed and anxious just thinking about it.

IMO.

BBM

People v. Stauch: Closing arguments have been made and jury deliberations are underway. Once the jury has reached a verdict, the Court will read the verdict 30 minutes later. Notice of a verdict will be sent from this account.

I think it's majority of 10 out of 12 here in England, but I'm not positive.

Thank you.. i was up all night again... I'll be a basket case by then.
It may not happen today.
they can take as long as they please, DA said.

if they're all going to need to get through and look at every piece of evidence again, it will certainly not be today but later this week. Just saying..

I am hoping that they are concentrated on the only issue that matters: sane v. insane. It has to be a very hard thing to deliberate (and they aren't allowed to use a dictionary! I wonder how many people know, off the top of their heads, what "moral obliquity" means. I had to look up obliquity, but it's the first clause in the instructions and it's important!

According to Webster, it means "deviation from moral rectitude or sound thinking" (that's NOT insanity in CO). So a deviation from sound thinking is NOT insanity in CO. Moral depravity is a little easier (and NOT insanity in CO).

I feel as if CO has written their laws in a user-unfriendly way (sorry CO, I love CO and spent part of my childhood in your lovely state, but seriously, this whole having to prove sanity and a person being declared "not guilty" on the basis of...the expert witnesses in this case? is really strange to me).

IMO. I guess every state has its quirks.

Cook tho'!
I needed that giggle, thank you.

But, it may not happen today.

They are not the same as us.
we'd have done it a week after he disappeared or sooner.

Truthfully, i feel the entire defense has just been a preparation for a string of appeals and I don't think it will bother her in the slightest how the verdict goes.

she'll just shrug it off and start demanding her constitoootional rights again..

She must know.

I did give her the benefit of the doubt at first. Mostly it was because she's such a manipulator, she used all the hot button issues to compel the public to feeling sorry for her. Being the step-mom, getting online death threats, social media being so flaming nasty, etc. All of society knows that step-parents get a bad rap, and we also know how vile social media can be.

I'd have to go back and check but I'm pretty sure it was the backwards Cousin It interview that knocked me off the fence.

Day two of jury deliberations is about to begin in the trial for the murder of Gannon Stauch.

I'm getting to you with the power of mobile hotspot from my partner's phone - my home internet went down about twenty minutes ago and I have no idea why. I'm hoping it sorts itself out, but for now, we have enough data to get by. My nails are pale shimmery glitter blue called Wonderland today, and I'm ready for justice for Gannon.

The jury can pick guilty, not guilty or not guilty for reason of insanity for the following charges: Murder-1st degree - after deliberation Murder-1st degree - child under 12 position of trust Tampering w/ a deceased human body Tampering w/ physical evidence
