The antipsychotic meds make you very sleepy also that's what the big gut is from as I know because my 32year old son has Schizoaffective disorder and bi-polar. I've been dealing with his delusions and voices since he turned 20 after going to college one year. I'm all to familiar with this horrible brain disease. I tell people it's like cancer of the brain. Deteriorating and no cure. My son was very smart too. He graduated HS with high honors and a 4.0 average. I can relate to JH poor parents. It baffles me to this day how this happened to my son who's now in prison. He never hurt anyone but he could have eventually I suppose. He was always the teachers model student.

So sorry to hear about your son.

It seems I hear a lot about brain defects can appear rather suddenly in people after they get older. Its sad that it happens to people and it must be shocking when it happens to people at a later age and there is nothing to expect something like that happening.

I have a relative that is schizoprehnic (sp) but she had it since her teen years so it did not come on too suddenly for her. Lately, i have heard of cases where it seems to develop in the 30s or later.

I don't know if he could have gotten this drug from Lynne Fenton. She was disciplined in 2004 for prescribing Vicodin to her husband and an employee who weren't her patients. Is this something a psychiatrist would prescribe?

No, psychiatrists shouldn't be prescribing this medication, they are Psych specialists in the medical field (i.e., technically a medical doctor)but should only prescribe medications for MH/MI--at least this is true in Texas and New Mexico. They are allowed to prescribe pain killers but it is very rare that they do so, also they are HEAVILY monitored by DEA.

Most psych's will refer to Primary Physician for this medication

He took Vicodin before the shooting. He clearly worried he might be hurt. When it came down to it he must have decided not to risk being shot.

I'm in the UK so I don't know what Vicodin is. Is it a prescription drug?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's a very powerful drug..and yes it has a history of prescription abuse... Link which gives you all of it's affects!! oh yeah..Whomever prescribed it best have a damn good reason for perscibing it!!!!!

http://www.drugs.com/vicodin.html

I also found this interesting youtube video which could very well explain how JH could appear to have dilated pupils..He seems to have mastered many behaviour/ body controls thru his mind...watch this short video and see what you think~~

Again, Edson is working to establish the records he wants Christopher Russell to read to the jury, so they can enter into evidence the invoices for whatever was purchased.

Just catching up.

Regarding the Vicoden. No, Dr. Fenton would not have prescribed it - at least not legally.

However, it is a VERY WIDELY recreational drug...and for a college student, SUPER easy to acquire. I am not saying it wasn't prescibed to him at some point - he could have had dental pain or any number of reasons he could have received it.

But it shouldn't be a shock to anyone he had it if it wasn't prescribed. Just as easy as getting marijuana. Of course, in CO it is now even easier to get that, since you can go to the corner store to pick some up. LOL!! But back then, it would have been no more difficult for a college student to get pot or Vicoden.
