Mr. Brauchler made his obligatory silly comment at the beginning of questioning, which I interpret as a way to make the witness more comfortable...something like "Google? I have never heard of that. What is it?"

The witness then proceeded to explain in a very serious tone. LOL!!

And I SO appreciate your posts corundogs.. You always make me laugh when my eyes are starting to cross! lol

Does anyone have an idea of how much a defence attorney would cost if you were to pay for it yourself?

I guess one could be paranoid..but there should be no fear IF one is conducting a lawful lifestyle. I'm worried about the search engine side of things because of following trials I search things that could be mis-construed... If something ever happen to myself or anyone I know...LOL

YUP! I will read about some crazy thing, or truly awful thing, and my first response is to google to see what it is about. This could look very bad for me! LOL!! Hopefully, when this type of stuff is looked at, they look at EVERYTHING...and see that 30 seconds before I googled, I read about this awful thing on an innocent website!

I was just thinking that yesterday!!

My emails mostly consist of photos of my new grandson (precious boy!) and me showing my husband things I want to buy lol!

Typical costs:

A lawyer will almost always want to meet and discuss the specific circumstances of your case before quoting a fee, either an hourly rate ($100-$300) or a flat charge based on the type of case, such as $500-$1,200 for first-time drunk driving charges. However, legal costs for a complex DUI/DWI case can easily run anywhere from $2,500 to $25,000, according to MSN.com[1] .
A retainer is an up-front fee you pay to hire your attorney, usually a percentage of the total case fee or the equivalent of several hours work. A lawyer working on an hourly basis deducts that hourly rate from the retainer as the work is done; when the retainer is gone, you are billed for additional payment.
For misdemeanor charges, retainers usually start around$2,000-$4,000. In felony cases the retainers can be $5,000-$10,000, but could easily be $25,000-$50,000 or more for extremely serious charges, such as homicide or sexual assault.
If you can't afford to pay legal fees and you are facing criminal charges that could result in a jail or prison term of six months or more, you are legally entitled to a lawyer at no charge to you; the judge will either appoint a private attorney or assign a government public defender to represent you.

I would assume in a case like this, where there have to be so many attorneys involved, we are talking hundreds of thousands of dollars! If someone said private defense attorneys for this trial would run $3 million, I wouldn't bat an eye! I could be way off, but that wouldn't surprise me in the least!

Wow! Thats a lot of money! The reason I asked is because I wondered why is parents didn't pay. I think I read they are quite well off. Maybe this would be out of even the richest person's reach...

Defense previously filed motion to supress saying these were obtained from cell phone w/o warrant
https://www.courts.state.co.us/user...nce Records Obtained from Match.com D-117.pdf …

WOW! I just did a quick rundown of that - will read more carefully in a bit - but they really didn't want that AdultFriendFinder thing to be seen! Not easy to explain away the "Will you visit me in jail?" if the jury sees it. Better to call it a bad search! SMH!!!

I wonder if this is why they are using Google to introduce this and not his actual cell phone??? Anyone know?

I wonder if JH exchanged fruity emails with women and he doesn't want the jury to see these.

Gnaw Doubt that..But the admission of this disc is very important as subsequent witnesses will be discussing some of those emails..i.e. x-girlfriend. The defence lawyers are going to try and keep out everything possible..but given it's the burden of the prosecution to prove/disprove everything..Benefit of the doubt sides with them most of the time..JMOO

You can’t say who exactly created the account. (Always a problem with internet crime; can’t prove it was that person)

The adorable Mr. Brauchler says "Bless you!" twice to someone sneezing in courtroom in the middle of questioning! LOL!!

ETA - I wasn't watching, but I don't think it was the witness. If I am wrong, someone please correct me!
