Seeing JH sitting there on that video had made me feel sad. I don't know why. I suppose i'm worrying he is mentally ill and what if he really didn't know what he was doing. I'm sure you will all give me a good slap and sort me out!

I actually cried and had to turn it off.

I 100% believe JH was legally sane when he killed and injured those innocent people, and I believe he should be held accountable for the 12 lives he took from this earth and the immeasurable pain and suffering he inflicted on so many others. But, I'm also a compassionate human being and feel empathy for all walks of life... right down to my core. It's such a complex situation. I hate what JH did, but I can't hate JH, the person. No matter how much I want to and wish I did.

Something planted all that hatred that he clings to inside himself. Something created his "aversion to mankind," despite his claims of there being no known cause. Whether it was years of rejection, a lifetime of being ignored and/or ridiculed, being the subject of vicious bullying, or negative events that had a significant impact during childhood---we will never know. If we are to believe what he wrote in his notebook is true, even he doesn't know.

It's hard to watch someone seem so human--just like you and just like me--knowing they robotically gunned down men, women, and children in a movie theater on a random night in July. Because that's exactly what he is, a human. But something (or many somethings) along the way took away all of the joy and happiness that life has to offer and put hatred and evil in its place. It's incredibly sad and very scary to imagine what that must be like for him.

Oh my goodness - this commander just could not grasp what was going on for 15 minutes- he needed his ambulances all lining up a block while folks are bleeding to dealth. It was so frustrating. As his incomp[entance increases you can hear subordinates trying to tell the guy we need to go get bleeding to dealth humans. He just could not get it. At 2330 head of cops requested to meet with him face to face in front of theatre NOW!

He was unreal..............................

Ambulances just sitting around awaiting for this dude to figure out what he was gonna do

I can't work out what made him do this terrible thing if he wasn't insane. Why else would someone murder so many people?

It also relates to Aspergers.

I'm so sorry to disagree....but my nephew is the most loving, caring kid....and he has great empathy. He has Aspergers

The Autism spectrum is large and there are so many different ways one can be affected. Someone can be really mildly affected while someone else can barely function.

I know, his brother is Autistic....and he's not nearly as soft and squishy....but he also hides it better. What gets me is that the Autistic one has more friends and better social skills.... he comes off as the guy with confidence....it's interesting. Of course I love those kids very much so I'm biased.

So far this is easy for me since I have used the simple Law explanations I have found which state ....Did his illness prevent him from knowing right from wrong?

And the answer so far is definitely NO. He knew right from wrong IMO.

Was he sick in his mind? Yes, but not to the level where he did not realize he would be killing people and it was wrong to do that.

So very simple for me so far. By LAW, he was legally sane and guilty.
A sick person, but legally sane.

It bugged me- so I sluethed:

Medical transportation from the scene in a mass casualty incident usually is coordinated
by the Transportation Group operating under a Medical Group/Branch of ICS. During this
incident, there was no designated Transportation Group or Group Supervisor. At 0
1:06.41, 17
minutes into the incident, an RMA supervisor was dispatched to Exposition and Sable to be in
charge of transportation. This unit arrived at the scene, but stayed in staging and did not establish

Within 15 minutes, there were five ambulances on the scene, but by this time, the police
already had transported at least three patients. RM 109 was on scene in less than three minutes,
but did not transport their first
patient until 14 minutes later. This is consistent with reports of
delayed patient access to ambulances, likely due to being ordered to stage. RM 101 arrived
within 12 minutes, and had patients ready for transport within five minutes after they arrived
ery efficient). Between the 18 and 24
-
minute points, APD transported an additional 12 red
patients before another ambulance transport was performed.
There were six ambulances on
scene in this time period, but the patients could not get to the ambulances,
or the
ambulances to patients

The fire captain acting as BC who was the initial fire incident commander, was notassisted with a second BC or higher level chiefs until much too late in the first critical hour and he was overwhelmed with radio traffic.

A critical series of mistakes were made processing police requests to the fire department for EMS assistance.

I'm no expert, but all I gathered from that first session is that he is a sane, somewhat shy, guy who likes juice and cares mostly about himself and a tiny bit about his family. JMO

I am right there with ya! I watched it all...and then just read through all of the last few pages (sorry I forgot to hit thanks...and I am not going back! LOL!!)

The one thing that stood out to me the most is when asked about his family and what they did...the first, and really only, answer he came up with was "make pizza". WTF?? That's not normal!!! Then he said made home made water parks...dug holes or something? I don't know.

I am pretty sure he had a very nice, upper middle class upbringing with holidays and whatever. I am an only child, but I can tell you all sorts of things about my growing up. And I didn't have any siblings to be around during family things.

That being said, he also didn't have a tragic upbringing. Doesn't even remotely sound like he was bullied. He did sports things, and school things, and played video games and whatever else boys 20 years younger than me did at the time. LOL!

Like y'all, the lack of empathy was the biggest stand out to me. And that his parents have only visited once a year. That is...I don't know what. Surprising I guess. Sad. Probably understandable...but I don't know what their reasons were. They are there in court with him everyday. I wonder if that is more about appearances than true support (please don't throw tomatoes at me for thinking that!)

And lastly...I was able to stay focused much better than I thought I would. I was so afraid it would be hard to follow...it is not.

2 down...20 to go!!! See y'all tomorrow!

Sounds like a total incompetent person and they should have been fired.

What gets me about all the stories like this of "officials" who fail miserably at their job role is you never hear about them losing their jobs over it.

Whoever made those ambulances line up and wait was a total fool who had no business coordinating something like what happened. Common sense would have made people realize to just let the ambulances go get as many as they could.

No matter where they park. Just GO and get as close as they can.

Now I understand why some of the victims were getting other rides in personal LE vehicles.

Asperger's is not actually recgnized in the latest DSM anymore. It is all Autism Spectrum Disorder now. He would be classified as autistic with his degree autism depending on his level of functioning. Those that you would think of as having Asperger's would usually be referred to as high functioning autism.

I had to stop listening to the live feed as there was too much 'static'. Does anyone know if we can listen to it via utube or other way without the noise? Thanks for the tweets...I appreciated them.
