"As for where the body may be, police told residents of Woodland Park that they should expect an increase in police activity around the area in the coming days."

Oh wow. I really hope so. I hope they bring her home by the end of the year

I wonder if someone's been talking. It seems strange that there was no mention of searching around there until now. Or if some evidence is leading them there. Let's hope so, for poor Kelsey's family's sake.

I wonder why she took the elevator and didn't walk down the stairs lol it's only 2 floors. I had jury duty last month around Election Day there.

SF seems to have an issue walking per the video from PF’s first appearance. When I think of that, and her possible limitations due to medical issues, I really can’t see the court giving her any custody over KB’s parents.

The one problem the B family faces in the custody issue would be that they will be taking the baby 1000 miles away to another state. The P family is intervening in CO while they can to probably get visition more than full custody because once the child is out of the first state's jurisdiction, it's another whole complication. The B's are present now in CO, so it's a good thing to move forward quickly, not a bad thing.

Can anyone clarify - I know SF filed the motion to intervene, but did PF's father also file, or was that MSM bad reporting? Thx.
So true. Feel bad to think a family loses a son to prison and rights to see their granddaughter. This is all on PF if he is convicted. However, it would have been merciful of PF’s family to have shown some sadness and concern for KB!

U
Understood. My post was in response to how bad the reporting in this case has been. Almost like it's a competition to see who can screw up the news the most... :p Sorry if that wasn't clear.
MOO Quoted Pommy Mommy....

Sorry @PommyMommy I just jumped in to give the DCFS information. I didn't really read what was before it. I just wanted to add info regarding custody when it refers to DCFS.

On a side note, not just to Pommy Mommy. My own mother was murdered last week, so I'm a bit foggy, but I wanted to share what I know about how DCFS operates especially when one set of parents is unsuitable.

Oh my goodness, I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. Please know how much I am thinking of you and praying for you. It was kind of you to come here and post at such a difficult time.

I am not sure if anyone read this or not- I certainly missed it! Go to this page and scroll down to where it has a video with the headline "Community holds vigil for missing Colorado woman Kelsey Berreth", and underneath the video, I found this in the article:

Sheila Frazee, the mother of the suspect, has also been detained by authorities but not placed under arrest.

The divorced mother of four, who is a registered nurse, lives with her youngest son at the ranch, which she outright owns according to public records.

She also owns two additional properties in the area.

Her son meanwhile attends to the ranch and also breeds dogs.

Did I miss that part? I don't recall anyone discussing this in previous threads, but I know I missed a few things from working the last few weekends.

I don't recall them mentioning searching the other properties- could they be possibly searching for Kelsey on those properties now, seeing that the police department said there would be searches done in the Woodland Park area?

Question...was KB’s daddy at Court today? Just saw her mother there.

Thank you. Ironically, it was custody related and involved DCFS :( but the perp is in custody. I am so sad, there are no words for my sadness, my mom was the sweetest woman alive. I'm a mess. I will say though, now that I know....LE will not let you say anything to the press or online. I am anonymous here, so I can say a little, but in real life, I have to remain completely silent. So I understand KB's family's silence.
So sorry to hear this. Sending you a hug and prayers for peace and healing.

What, tho, are the Bs taking the baby away from?
It’s really no dif’ than the arrangement she shared with her mom, only reversed. Now, she’ll be away from the paternal side of the family.
How bold of Ps mom to ask, want or expect custody of Ks baby. Tsk tsk tsk
I don’t blame Mrs. F, but I think it disrespectful to think she should raise (basically) an orphaned child that her son put in such a position.
Imagine how awful visitation exchanges will be for Ks mom.

The other properties were previously discussed and questioned about a search. Assumption was, I believe, they would have been searched. Also not sure of location of these other properties. I was thinking they’d be closer to Florissant than Woodland Park.

I was wondering as well. Also, with this being a temporary custody, are they allowed to take the baby out of the state or must they remain in Colorado for now?

They would have needed a warrant to search, though, right?

@musemoon

Oh my gosh. I am so, so sorry!!!!

The baby is just over a year old, and most likely won’t have any memory of any of this.

If only this were true! Well, part of it is - the baby won't have an actual memory of the loss of her mother and separation from her father and grandmother. But children don't have to actually "remember" separation from their primary caregivers to be affected by it when they are older. In this case the separation can't be helped, so we can only hope that she is one of those who adjusts well without later attachment issues.

My heart breaks for this little girl. Even though I definitely don’t think SF should get her, she is much more familiar with the child since it seems that she helps PF care for her. KB s parents are pretty much strangers to her I would think… Thankful that she is so young that hopefully she will form a bond with them. So sad that she will never have that mother again.

Oh I’m sure. I only meant that it was discussed that LE most likely was aware of the other properties. I haven’t read every post either due to the holiday, but I remember posts about the other properties owned by his mom.
