Has anyone seen the baby lately?
I would think law enforcement has since law enforcement said in the presser that the child is with her father. I don't think law enforcement would simply just take someone's word for it.

Sounds like they found home made cinnamon rolls at Kelsey's on 12/2. The mother added they were cold. Who bakes before going into hiding ?

That's a good point. If she went to the trouble to make them, she probably expected she'd be there to eat them.

I’ve researched this in previous cases.

When turned off, cell phones do not ping.

When location tracking is turned off, it is still possible to track a cell phone, but the phone has to be on to do this.
The last part is when law enforcement is trying to find a phone by having the phone company ping the phone. Ordinarily and regularly it works the other way around. A cell phone pings towers every few minutes even if it is just sitting on your kitchen counter and more often when the phone is moving at speed, like on an interstate. The "ping" itself is actually data and that data is the location of the phone as determined by the phone either via cell-tower triangulation or GPS triangulation. Turning off location services has no effect on this process.

I find that really strange. Ok, her religious beliefs do not allow her to live with him until married, but having a child together makes that look a bit odd.
Having sex is sinning privately, but living together is sinning publically.

Yep. That is one of the precepts that is followed.

Wish we knew more about the area and if LE is actively searching there. No coincidence that her mother lives in Idaho and that's where the phone pinged, imo.

There are some interesting comments on the Woodland Park Police Dept. FB under the press release about Kelsey.

Specifically, one by someone with initials BWJ, and directly beneath it, someone with initials PC.

I make homemade cinnamon rolls, so I kinda like the detail.

It would be awesome if the rolls provide the clincher clue to solve the case. (Yeah, I know that is corny.)
jmo

Well, I for one would like to know if any of them were eaten and if she bought the Pillsbury type at the Safeway.

Her religious sect isn't big on celebrating holidays and they are vegetarians. So, don't know how that plays with Thanksgiving.

What is her religious sect?

Just finished reading this thread for the first time. What a confusing case. At first look, it seems pretty straight forward that something likely happened to Kelsey beyond her control and someone was sending those texts to cover up. But then again, I thought the same thing in the Michele Roode Boyd case. Michele's phone pinged in another state shorty after she went missing too and then nothing. She had abandoned her child and had packed a suitcase but left it in her car when she left. Her and her husband had been separated and living apart too and she also disappeared right before Thanksgiving. Michele ended up being found almost 2 years later living under an assumed name in another state. I'm still pretty gobsmacked at that case because I was certain someone had harmed her. I was wrong. So I'm not going to assume anything yet here, although it doesn't look good for Kelsey. Best case scenario would be that she left on her own-- maybe didn't feel safe where she was or didn't trust anyone to hide her or maybe she has had a mental break down of some sort.

The living situation/relationship situation when they have a baby together is odd. Some mentioned it might be their religious beliefs but most couples I know with strong religious beliefs and an "oops" baby would have gotten married when the baby was on the way or shortly after, not continued to live separately for 15 months and call themselves engaged. It makes me wonder if they only had it arranged like that due to family disapproval of the relationship? Perhaps Kelsey and her fiance do not have strong religious beliefs themselves but were living apart to respect their families feelings? Or perhaps they were not really engaged or in a relationship with each other at all but were saying that to make family happy? Maybe they live their own lives and shared custody of the baby? I wonder if there was a wedding date set?

MOO.

Thanks, good explanation. Kelsey was not officially missing at this point, so this wasn't a phone company ping to her phone.

So between Colorado and Idaho there were no cell tower hits, nothing on the highways, nothing at airports. But then one cell tower ping in Idaho. Then forever silence. The chances of this occurring "naturally" are very small. The chances of someone trying to sell a story- bigger IMO.

So KB's mom lives in Idaho? Does she have any family in Woodland Park besides the fiance?
Eta: Never mind. I found the answer.

I wonder if that was arranged beforehand? If I needed groceries and knew that I was going to be child free later in day, I would be inclined to wait to shop until then.
Not to say everyone would.

Nov 22 was Thanksgiving. If she had to shop on Thanksgiving Day, she might not have had much choice about the time of day. I don't know about her area, but where I live many grocery stores were only open in the morning and closed early afternoon so their employees could go be with their families. Also, she might have needed ingredients to bake the cinnamon rolls. Perhaps she wanted to bake those to take somewhere later in the day? JMO.
