"Larimer County Sheriff Justin Smith, speaking at Thursday's press conference, listed the task force's priorities.

"First objective: stop the shootings. Next objective: solving each and every one of these cases. Our next objective: deliver the same kind of news, that we've been able to solve that homicide as well."

He said the objective of quelling such attacks was a success, as no more random shootings have occurred since 2015.

"In April of 2015, when Cori Romero was shot at, we knew relatively quickly that we had what appeared to be a random shooter on the loose in Larimer County," Smith said. "By May of 2015, when John Jacoby was shot, it appeared we had a serial shooter in the area; we put the task force together because we realized the power of these agencies together working with the public was much more powerful than any of us working alone.""

"Mary Connole, younger sister of the murdered William Connole, also opened up about the case Thursday. She appeared tearful, but relieved.

"This case is now in the next step," Connole said. "We need to let the system do its job."

Connole was sympathetic to the family members of other victims of Northern Colorado's random shootings.

"This is news that the justice system is working," she said. "(William) was just a guy walking down the street.""

"But Jacoby's homicide remains unsolved."

Snip

""It's hard to put in words," John's brother Mark said, describing*his feelings as a roller coaster. "We were feeling encouraged (at the arrest), relief, and then at the same time, after the news came out that they weren't connected, disappointed, of course."

Mark said he and his family are relieved for the Connole family for getting some kind of resolution.

"We know Ms. Connole and talked to them, and we're kind of in the same predicament and same boat, so we feel for each other," he said.

The Jacoby family has their good days and their bad days.

But these next couple of months, they're spending their time reviewing the*good memories with John and his commitment to the Windsor community.

"We just have to remember that he was always happy," Mark said. "He loved the Windsor community, he loved his neighbors*reaching out, going to other Windsor community events.""

Imo, at this moment, if I were to respond to the above article, just because a connection has not yet been proven, it does not necessarily mean imo yet that there is not a definitive connection to JJ/CR UNLESS they can say they can officially rule him out, lIke MJK in L ajd L's case for example. IMO they just might need to process the current evidence and new information they've come into...this is HUGE. There is soooooooo much to look at with this nutjob. I hope his SM stays up as long as possible.

Eagerly anticipating more charges.

Eta: I will be quite surprised if he's not responsible for other shootings, but now that I think about it more, I am a little worried suddenly...for a few reasons...ugh...sigh...

Cmon, please be him (CR's shooter and Jacoby's killer). It's gotta be him....but if there is one thing I've learned on WS, it is that there can be similar killers operating in the same area at the same time, for example JLM and RAT, or whoever killed Lyzzie and Lyric and BG...there is no shortage of nut jobs running around us.

Man, suddently got a sick feeling...

I am soo excited to take a look back though the initial threads...thank you for having this resource here for not only us, but LE, the families....we've got an excellent case(s) file here, imo; I've given these threads some of my deepest efforts ever here in a case...there have been great minds and contributions...man, all the photos, and articles, and Forager's map and spreadsheet, just no words...we have been a very small, but tight team here. All of you know who you are.

Foxfire!!! Do you see any frangibles in any of the pics? Did I see some kind of weird homemade singleshot, vintage style, or was that something else? Also, seems to have an interest in posting about militantay/historical stuff, didn't get a chance to read, was racing to screenshot, barely absorbed anything...

Can you (sorry, me = cra cra, yes, I am literally talking to Foxfire) , Hatfield, etc comment on the calibers of some the ammo? Think I saw some shotgun shells too...

Bingo, Connolly was shot with a shot gun. Sigh, just absorbing all of this...

Foxfire, man...

FindHG and Forager, get your butts back here now!!!!

About to run out of editing time in this post., sorry for tpos, etc

"At 9 a.m. May 5, the third annual 5K Johnny's Community Run will take place at Boardwalk Park, 100 N. Fifth St. in Windsor. For more information on the walk or to register, go to johnnyscommunitywalk.com.

"It's kind of a special time with the run coming up," Mark said. "We get to think about Johnny and share stories and share his spirit and love for the community and friends and family."

Money raised through sponsorships and the walk will continue to go toward programs that John held dear: scholarships for Windsor High School students as well as community groups and nonprofits, including K99's 28 Hours of Hope.

Mark said the family is still very grateful for the work of the Northern Colorado Shooting Task Force and the Windsor Police Department.

The family members receive monthly updates on the investigation. They urge the public to come forward with tips about John's shooting as well as the others."

Eta: Some quotes from WC's sister:
"Connole's sister Mary was grateful for the arrest.

"The task force has been so incredible," she said. "I have just believed that they would find this guy. And let's hope that this guy they found is the guy.""

""He was just a guy walking down the street," Mary Connole said. "He was my older brother. He was a father. He was a grandfather. He was like your brother.""

Snip

""It means that the justice system is working and that we have some pretty incredible people working in Larimer County," Connole said of the arrest."

From above:

"Shot Missed 6/3/15

Shot fired at, but missed, an unnamed motercyclist on the night of 6/3/15 at Denver Ave and E 18th st. (Not far from Connole shooting, and same night).

Denver Ave and East 18th St., Loveland

Blair Schiff, KUSA"

There's something here, don't know what it is...
