I can’t go there, yet. I need more information. I need to see the texts CW and SW sent to one another in the days leading up to the murders. I think there will be some very telling information in those. It would be great to see the other texts CW sent duringbthat time period as well.
That would be interesting, for sure.

Another reason I lean toward her not suspecting anything is her friend's comments. When she notified LE for a welfare check, her concern was SW having a medical emergency. It didn't seem to occur to her that CW could have had anything to do with it until she saw his behavior in the house and it seemed abnormal for a man whose wife and kids had disappeared. It doesn't seem like SW expressed any hesitation or fear about going home on that trip, even if she and CW were privately having problems.

I really do think she was blindsided.

I agree with all of your post. I don't smoke but I know others who do for pain management (and recreation). Some include senior citizens with very painful leg problems. It helps them.

(So we don’t get too off topic I’ll close with this, that many people like me with serious medical conditions would much rather partake in natural herbs than take strong prescription medications with horrible side effects and/or become legal heroin addicts (pain pills). I’m not alone in this as many MMJs say the same thing and move here every day just for this reason. Now before I get a mod slap for O/T, that’s all I’ll say about that. Not to mention I see no problem with recreational either.)

I do think it’s likely either of them could have used pot, it wouldn’t even have to be smoking. It could be an edible at night, for instance. Maybe a nice chocolate chip cookie :) I have medical issues similar to Shanann so it wouldn’t surprise me. But perhaps Thrive products were more appealing/helpful to Shanann.

Everything is jmo.

PS: No Stoner Shame Here!!

I think it’s very possible that CW didn’t complain. Just went through the motions of making it through every day doing what he was supposed to be doing, while silently smoldering beneath the surface and sneaking off and to do what he really wanted whenever the opportunity arose.

You can buy CBD over the internet, for pain management. Don't need to move house...

O/T but CBD is not the same as marijuana. It doesn't contain THC, which is the psychoactive cannabinoid of cannabis.

Can you elaborate as to why you say that? Is it because she had seemingly endless energy?

Also- she very well could have used, and just used a strain that was more uplifting/energetic. Which there’s nothing wrong with that. Again, it was just out of curiousity. She was open to trying lots of things for health related stuff. She was a member of the FasciaBlasters FB group I’m in & posted a video challenge a year ago.

That’s definitely possible. It’s also possible that he changed when he wasn’t in public or in front of the camera.

It’s dangerous for us to make assumptions based on some Facebook videos, as he may not have been so meek, behind closed doors.

To be fair, s/he was asked " did you see any domestic violence..." so I interpreted her certainty as she certainly ( 100%) knew of none rather than some legal interpretation of proof ( proof of absence of DV) rather than me assuming that poster was a liar.

I believe I asked that question but was rather shocked to read the answer that there was no DV. I mean what C.W. did was the ultimate act of Domestic Violence.

I suspect their Marriage was co-dependent. One or both of their identities were entangled in the very existence of their Relationship. It’s complicated.

It's interesting how we each take the same data and interpret it differently. My take was different than yours. I felt they were poked in the chest for everything they said. If that was me, I would have run. In fact, when it started to be snarky (again, just my OWN feeling last night as I read all that..) I was wondering what happened to the normal objectivity I see displayed here. (Mostly).
Scroll and roll is good advice. This is a very heated thread sometimes!

Yeah I do think it got snarky. It can be hard when emotions are high in such a horror of a case to stay cool all the time.

But there's value in hearing what someone might have to say who could be an insider even if we don't like what's being said.

I don't blame people for asking a ton of questions though. His or her opening volley was "Ask me anything."

Finally, it could be the potential insider was chased away by aggressive posts. Or it could be she couldn't verify she knew the family and was told not to post as such.

Unless a person is privy to their conversations with a mod, we can't know.

As to the dynamics between CW and SW...

In 99.9% of the marriages with dysfunctional dynamics, the end result is not murder. We're not going to see anything in videos, texts, or otherwise that "explain" the murder of this family, because its not explainable. CW had his reasons, but they are not going to make sense to anyone. At best, we might be able to determine what his motive was.

Even so, no one else knows what goes on in a marriage. To claim you know with
absolute certainty is at the very least hyperbole if you weren't with them 24/7.

Very interesting hyperbole however. I really wanted to hear more.

Exactly, but still curious why such an affirmative opinion.

And the doggoned WRONG water bottles at that!

Yeah. That struck me! Water bottles and slippers are probably not going to get a couple of scared kids comfortable with Santa! Where's the good stuff?

It did make me wonder for a small moment, although I know that wasn't really Christmas for the kids, but more an opportunity to film them seeing Santa, were finances a bit tight?

Oh another off topic note it reminds me of a story of my older brothers and I coming in the room to see Santa climbing out of the chimney. My oldest brother was five and very talkatative and engaging. He went right up to Santa and talked a mile a minute and asked a bunch of questions. My other brother and I, ages 3 and 2, sat howling on the couch in fear, terrified of this strange apparition in our house.

What's funny is we all completely suspended disbelief. Here Santa was a skinny man with a thick Spanish accent and we never once connected him with our skinny dad who had a thick Spanish accent and suddenly was nowhere to be found.

In their video she even slips and calls him Chris, twice! But Bella never figures it out. Sounds like Daddy. Had Daddy's eyes. Even Daddy's name. Nope. That's just scary Santa!

Kind of funny, if not a bit off topic.

Thanks for answering my post, I just am not onboard with that analysis, anyone who claims to have followed the thread for awhile would understand the thirst for real facts to be verified, and what happens when tidbits are tossed out. (However I REALLY like your avatar photo!)

I’ve been following this thread from the beginning. I completely understand why a person claiming to be an insider should be verified. Not just for this case, but for all WS cases. However, I don’t understand why so many posters were down right rude. I was literally cringing as I was reading some of the posts. IMO...There’s no need to treat others that way and it shouldn’t be tolerated. As I’ve stated before, we will never get VI’s if they are treated like that. JMO

Well, I wonder what CW is doing about now? It is a little before 1:00 pm MST. Taking another nap from depression? Staring at the ceiling? Listening to the jail sounds?

As a lifelong MJ enthusiast, there is no way in hell SW or CW used MJ.

I see all types of people at the dispensaries, from all walks of life, moo. Again I have no idea if the Watts used marijuana products or not, but since the discussion has come up, I can’t rule out anyone. I toked with someone the other day whom I never would have thought...

I also know a lot of women who especially enjoy the edibles at night, as I mentioned.

Anyway, whatever the case, I don’t see any specific mmj relevance yet to this case.

And the person who claimed to know them well claimed that he had asked her over and over for a separation.
Why did he not just leave? What was stopping him walking out the door if she treated him so badly.

Based on his defense for killing Shanann and blaming her for killing Bella and Celeste, we can probably assume that he will claim that she threatened to hurt the girls if he left her. MOO

Planning ways to kill himself, moo.

CW really screwed up.

As if murdering your whole family wasn't bad enough. He got caught and put in jail immediately. He never had a chance to pretend to be a grieving father/husband (which would mean he still got to enjoy creature comforts while doing so), or go on the run or to kill himself.

He quickly went from living freely- wearing nice clothes, sleeping in a comfy bed, going running as often as he wanted, eating good food.... to wearing an orange jumpsuit, in a noisy place with a crappy mattress and bad food with lots of carbs. No more Thrive supplements either.

And to top it off... he chose a crime that is not going endear him to other inmates. He isn't going to be the cool/tough guy who makes a lot of friends in there.

I wonder if he is currently looking back at his old life and realizing that it wasn't as bad as he thought and/or wishing he had made a different choice.

Made a good point no more Thrive. Wonder how he's going to look in Oct when he's back in court.
He may still look good since he has 23 hours a day to work out. There's really nothing else he can do in his cell MOO
