Are the homes in SW’s neighborhood close together? One thing I noticed in the XMAS video was that Cece’s crying can be heard from one end of the house to the other. Makes me wonder whether there was a struggle when CW committed the murders or if he killed them while they slept. Surprised neighbors have not commented on loud crying coming from their home (just Dieter’s barking).
The houses are extremely close together. Google maps street level photos
are old (2012) and the Watts house is just a vacant lot. But below is a satellite shot of their housing tract. The Watts house has the red teardrop indicator.

Was watching AB and she reiterated the sheet info from the affidavit. When first emtering the house police noticed sheets had been stripped from the master bed and [were on the floor?]. Police searched the sheets for signs of foul play but found none. Then they say the sheet in the oil field matched two pillow cases and a top sheet they found in the kitchen trash can. Which means the sheet in the oil field probably wasn’t from CW/SW’s bed but one of the girls? If she killed the girls, why in the world would HE throw out their sheets? And if he killed her while she was strangling their daughter, why strip the master bed?

I’ve believed he killed the girls before SW got home from day one. But if she saw the girls dead in their room would she ever have made it back to the master bedroom? I don’t have kids but I assume a parent would peek in on their kids if they just got home. About the only thing that makes sense if the girls were killed first is if he displayed them on the master bed for SW to see when she got home. Which seems even too evil for him.
Maybe something as simple as one of the girls wetting the bed set him off?

Yikes, I just went back to thread 19 and read...wow. I am really just disappointed. I don't blame that person at all for not wanting to come back. They weren't allowed, in a kind manner, to even clarify their statements. I can't possibly be the only person who was intimidated when I first arrived at WS; I can't imagine coming on here for the first time and being spoken to in such a manner. That person seemed to have a different perspective and I would have loved to have heard more :(

A few other thoughts of mine, in no particular order:
  • Just because he did this awful thing does not automatically mean he was abusive prior. My son's father hadn't hit either or us prior to his first (and last), and ultimately fatal, attack on my son. He didn't start hitting me until after he'd hurt my baby.
  • His disposal method also isn't proof of anything except his disposal method. I'm sure I'm not the only person growing weary of hearing, "but he put his babies in crude oil," so therefore he's clearly capable of like, skinning people alive and wearing their skin. It's heinous, yes, no argument there, but I'm not sure why it's being thrown out as a "be all end all" to every argument/differing idea/thought out there.
And someone came into my office and distracted me and now I lost my train of thought lol. I really wish we had a document dump or something more to discuss at this point.

I’m so sorry to hear about your son....big hugs. I agree 100%.

That sounds very confrontational and I don't believe that is what WS is about.
I don't think any of us wanted a "confrontation". I think all of us were eager to hear what the alleged "insider" had to add BECAUSE of her/his assurances in their initial postings.

Testing on hair can help pinpoint time of death.

I made professional inquiry about this earlier, and this is what I understand:

1) Investigators will identify hair strands in truck as SW, BW, CW, and those belong to others;

2) Isolated test of SW, BW, CW hairs to determine pre-death hair, and postmortem hair;

3) Forensic analysis of postmortem hair can be used to determine a timeline of death. For example, if baby girls murdered on Saturday, and SW on Monday, the aging analysis of banding would confirm SW preceded in death by the girls and support or negate the timeline.

Based on what we believe to be true (i.e., girls were alive at birthday party Sunday and therefore killed either Sunday after party hour up to Monday before 5AM, and SW killed on Monday (she didn't arrive home until Monday), it's questionable if the results would differ. However, there are exceptions of course, such as environmental conditions including where bodies were kept before transport, how long they were kept there, etc.

Were the girls killed Sunday afternoon, placed in dark, cold place as compared to SW believed killed Monday-- assuming in the house between the hours 2AM - 5AM? If this scenario true, more likely to have definitive test result than if all environmental conditions the same.

It's science, it's complicated. MOO....

I am new here and have been reading the posts. I live in the same town and it is beyond awful that something so horrible could happen anywhere, let alone here I've always heard and believed that sometimes people have a feeling that something is going to happen to them before it does. I've been wondering if it's possible that even at their young ages, maybe BW or CC had a feeling or a dream or something and that is why they covered the doll? I mean that could be completely just kids being kids but it seems so much more than that in my heart. And it makes me wonder if that's why Shanann didn't feel good on the last night in AZ. Maybe she had a feeling too. This all breaks my heart so deeply.

No immediately visible signs of foul play ( Monday- LE)
No immediate arrest ( only the BOLO Tuesday 7am)
A dog howling c. 4am ( welfare call by neighbour)

What we have, at the moment, all leads to the same scenario. There was no big fight in the small hours.
IMO

When a new poster comes in with an introduction like this on a high profile case.

"Hello all! I’m new on here but have been reading these threads for 2 weeks. I have known both CW and SW for many years. I am open to questions."

The poster needs to be ready for some questions.
The mods did a great job last night . We are on a crime forum and are discussing it on a legal and non personal level. I would think if I knew them and was still in shock/ mourning there may be some questions asked I would not be mentally or emotionally prepared for . I have lost friends I loved . I thought I would be ready to discuss and then became overwhelmed . This is way more extraordinary than most of us have dealt with .

To link to a specific post, click the post number and a little window will pop up with the url to copy. In order for me to see post numbers on my phone, I have to flip my phone into "landscape" mode (sideways). HTH
Brilliant! I learn something everyday -- thank you.

Now it makes sense that she said he had “no game” ... I think he duped her into thinking he was meek and obediant.

BBM
He was meek and obedient- until he wasn’t.

Oh no I wasn't talking about any of yesterdays thread. It was reply to a comment by that individual poster made earlier.

They could if they thought they might hurt the investigation, but I think that’s doubtful. They also aren’t likely thinking that far ahead in regards to the jury, as that’s likely a couple years away. Of course that’s if it even goes to trial.
I’ve read on other threads (mostly Facebook friends and family on SW) that some posts were hidden by the family members once CW became a suspect. I’ll post the screen shots if I come across them again but one did say “can’t wait to get home to Chris and the girls”—-and was posted that Sunday evening from an airport (can’t recall which one)

Finally got posting privileges today! I've been lurking for quite awhile but finally decided to join in the discussion.

I've been going back and forth between the girls being gone before she got home or the whole family being wiped out at once. I'm leaning more towards the girls being taken out Sunday evening and the plane delay throwing a wrench in his plans.

IMO this was premeditated, but not planned out. He didn't want his family anymore and he definitely didn't want child support payments for 3 kids.
Welcome aboard. Pretty much my thoughts.

:DAs deep as this one? Clip from yesterday's show.

Crime & Justice on Twitter

( Bearing in mind what we know as fact already: about the combined work of the couple promoting Thrive; joint transformation photos in the magazine showing weight loss; Shan also posted the clips of his home weight lifts. AFAIK this weight loss was seen as an asset by Shan's company.

And we still don't have any credible authentification of multiple affairs yet, despite what AB states. Plus we had guesses by posters that Shan wrote his Insta posts for him and that. I'm still waiting for her update on the "gay lover" she interviewed last month. )

So you don't need to be a rocket-scientist to u'stand that this clip is a spin for a female audience.
The expert used a rather unfortunate phrase when she said, Chris "could kill it out there." o_O

Allabouttrial "by that individual poster" is that directed at me?
For the record, I did not post any questions to Trinket78 nor did I comment on any posts related to that thread sequence between WS members and Trinket78.
Oh nooooo. I don't like quoting names so if you go back a couple of pages you will see.

:) Welcome to Websleuths, @PixieQ ! :)
Thanks for joining us!

@isalybra Thank you for coming on here and it is so very understandable that you need somewhere to work out your thoughts and feelings. I am so incredibly sorry for your losses, I truly can't imagine the pain you are fligh through. I live in the same town and I didn't know them but the pain as you said, is unbearable. I am new to this site too and I just wanted to thank you for your input. I think we're all trying to make sense of something that absolutely just doesn't make sense. It absolutely terrifies me that something like this could ever happen to someone I love and have to try to make sense of the why afterwards. Again, sorry is such an inadequate word, my heart truly aches for you and I pray for comfort, piece and healing for you and everyone who was blessed enough to have a part in SW, BW, and CC in your lives! She seemed like such a bright light!
:) Welcome to Websleuths, @JEM1975 ! :)
Glad to have you with us!

BBM According to the affidavit, Det. Baumhover noticed that the master bed was stripped of its bedding, and was lying on the floor. This took place on Monday and we don't know if bedding means comforter, pillows, or what exactly.

Also according to the affidavit, police found the pillowcases and top sheet in the kitchen trash on Wednesday.

IMO, the sheet found out at disposal site was the fitted sheet that matched the top sheet and pillowcases in the trash, all from the master bedroom. FWIW

And eating pizza and sleeping while his family is “missing”. No wonder the Thayers called the police.

I honestly think he was expecting to be arrested at any minute and didn't see the need to continue the charade. IMO, he was waiting for his father to get into town so he could see him one last time before turning himself in.
