My reading of it is that they found/collected a bag at the burial/disposal site - with possible bare footprints on it - but maybe I’m not reading that properly
That’s what I think as well. I’m confused as to why this is relevant. Unless they’re simply covering their bases and want to put him at the scene (not that there’s any doubt, even by his own account).

In considering the release of the autopsy reports prior to trial, I was reminded that if not for Colorado Gov Hickenlooper's recent veto (June 2018) of Senate Bill 223, the autopsy reports for the minor girls would have been required kept confidential, and county coroners allowed to release that information under only limited circumstances. Protecting minors information and protecting those children's families from additional pain already had broad support in Colorado, and I'd be surprised if the autopsies of the minor girls especially are released prior to trial. MOO

I would imagine, if the footprint is his, he perhaps stepped on the bag while he was stuffing it full of evidence he wanted to get rid of at his house. That's where he would be barefoot, not at the disposal area.

Weird his feet would have been bare. If they aren't his footprints, who else's could they be?
His feet may have been bare in the house as he placed the children and SW in the bags? Or as he used the bags for god knows what. Maybe it just ties him to the scene more, as proof that his print is on a bag found at the crime scene. In case his next confession claims he didn't do any of what he said he did!

I think so too, but his attorneys will insist no deliberation or premeditation. He made too many mistakes.

Respectfully disagree. NAU derailed his agenda. When NAU called CW the first time, CW lied about SW and her babies whereabouts.
When CW got the second call and learnedNAU called the cops and asked for a CWB; then CW ran all the traffics lights to get home.

Just wondering if CW's texts messages to his murdered wife have any correlation to NAU's calls; timewise speaking.

I agree - don’t see it as being all that relevant but hey, never hurts - belt and suspenders and all...

Someone was like “hey, is that... a FOOTPRINT?” And then they realized that they take fingerprints during the booking process but not footprints soooo... another motion, asking for “stuff”! :)

They should add littering to his long list of charges.

They said non porous, so maybe? Uh... does that mean someone stood on the bag in bare feet??
If it's the garbage bag, then maybe he stood on it bare foot during the time he was stuffing the bodies into it, at home.

I'm thinking the same.

Thats definitely plausible. Perhaps he put the kids in garbage bags to conceal their bodies during transportation. Shanann would have been too large, which is why he may have brought a bedsheet. Morbid, but possible.

Confident in his ability to lie. Was he scared? IMO, heck yes! I believe him when he says his heart is beating a mile a minute and he is in a nightmare he wishes he could get out of...just not for the reasons he wants us to think so.

Oh I see. Yeah, I can see that- he was confident in his ability to lie. Although I think he could also have just been going through the motions b/c he felt like that was what he was supposed to do. I.e he totally knew his goose was cooked and he knew the lies weren't going to sustain him, but he'd already started down the interview path.

I don't personally see it as "cocky", I see it as desperately trying to cover one's arse. I'm not saying that's acceptable, just saying it's not cocky to me. It's trying to desperately self-preserve.

CW was in self-preservation mode no matter whether he killed the girls or did not kill the girls. The fact he chose the "media blitz" strategy isn't particularly noteworthy to me. JMO JMO, so please no tomatoes. I am very shocked he chose that strategy though.
I understand your viewpoint, but an FBI Profiler said this showed great ego and confidence to do it. Yes, I believe he did it out of self preservation, but it took great confidence to believe you can handle it when you do not have to do so. Now some think he enjoyed the limelight. Maybe he did....I did not personally think so, but who knows.

Exactly. It’s not just that he had the ability to lie like that, it was the confidence in which he did it. It’s takes a lot of arrogance to believe that you can lie to millions of people, and have them believe you.

This ^^^

That was my initial thought as well. And while I agree with some of the other posters that it might not be super relevant, it provides one heck of a visual. I can imagine exactly how that would happen and .. yikes!

I wonder if the COD is listed as "undetermined" for the girls? Is that why the prosecution wants it blocked? Or listed as strangulation, making them fear CW's story will become fixed in the public mind?

I don't understand why they want it blocked!

Edit: Ugh, posting probs today.
The press will likely go after the reports. The Ohio Supreme Court just ruled today that the press can have access to the Rhoden family murders preliminary autopsy reports. It took them nearly 2 1/2 years to reach that point, though.
The Latest: Few details about slayings in autopsy reports

@gitana1 @Mrspratcher does that mean it is now case law and it will be reached quickly as to if the decision is to the point, that is if it is relevant?

ETA nevermind this is in Ohio

I hadn't thought about that. When he said he called/texted her, for some reason I assumed earlier, but now I wonder if it was only after NUA called him. I look forward to seeing all the digital forensics/electronic evidence. Tapping foot...:D
