How did he act weird at the neighbor's house after the murders? Was he too calm, talking nonsense? What alerted the neighbors??

Hi Kensie! You said you were coming in late to the thread, and something that would be very helpful, is that this case has a media timeline! It would be great for you to go back and just skim this to catch up and for other folks coming into the thread. It really gives a great idea as to how things evolved.

MEDIA, MAPS & TIMELINES - NO DISCUSSION - - Shanann Watts (34, dec.), Celeste"Cece" (3) and Bella (4

Oh, that's interesting. The way I interpret that------they don't want to call in a group of prospective jurors, and have to bounce a bunch of them for being anti-CW. They want an unbiased prospective jury pool to choose from?
Or maybe they don’t want to have to bounce all of the potential jurors who keep up with news. Lol moo

True... I have witnessed a quiet, shy guy/girl finally retaliate against someone causing them stress. In middle school the guy let loose on a bully like a windmill in a tornado... crying the entire time. Bully never bothered him again. In the 5th grade a girl hit that same guy with a tree branch laying on the playground after he kept pestering her. He didn't bother her again either.

My quiet, shy 4th grade self pummeled a bully who was picking on a little blind girl on our school playground. I beat him senseless and even broke his glasses while in my dress, anklets and patent leather mary jane shoes.

He never even saw me coming:)

I can’t figure out CW’s thinking, concerning why he thought it was necessary to kill the children, or in what order he strangled everybody. But it doesn’t really matter, he did it. I suppose it had something to do with staging a scene that would make him look as innocent as possible.

Maybe the girls were smothered/suffocated with a pillow? or drowned on the bathtub? But I think he did it.
As a said earlier on the threads, too much, too quick; pondering the idea of someone assisting him.

back to the rabbit hole...

It's going to take a lot to take the shock value out of the strangulation deaths of two precious very young children.
One of which saw her murderer as her "hero"...:(:rolleyes:o_O

Thanks Dixie!!! I keep forgetting about the media thread and I appreciate you reminding me.

That very well could be the case. I think that he was very confident that they would never be found for any COD to be discovered.
As our oilfield person @Silver~Bell has mentioned, it's very likely that the bodies could have remained hidden for a very long time since it's quite possible CW was the only one that went to that site with any frequency. Even where he buried SW may not have been discovered. IMO the chain of events that occurred prevented his further plans.
All MOO

Have you been through bankruptcy? Have you fought with your HOA about promises made and not fulfilled? I've been through both, HOA took me to court 4 years after my bankruptcy, I won. It had nothing to do with not changing my spending habits, it had to do with they were in the wrong. Do we know for a FACT that isn't the case here?

Edited for double quote
We know for a fact their HOA, Wyndham Hill Masters Association, Inc., sued them for not paying their dues that totaled a little more than $688. The total they would spend with court costs were $1500+. Anything you decide happened based on your own experience is just that. People go through bankruptcy for many different reasons. It does not always clean the slate or put them in a better financial situation. If you can't pay $688 dollars in HOA dues, then you have financial problems. At no point have we heard there was an issue on why they did not pay.

Yeah, a hero who saved no one and them had to dump his little girls in crude oil because he was scared.

But who would assist him? LE has interviewed and didn’t arrest AP. Who else could there be? CW doesn’t have any friends, does he?

I think that he did it all by himself.

Chris Watts case: Prosecutors ask judge to block release of autopsies until trial
9-18-18

[snip]

Prosecutors have to file the motion to stop the coroner’s reports from being released publicly because they are subject to Colorado’s Open Records Act. However, state statute allows for a judge to block the disclosure of such reports in cases the judge determines could cause “substantial injury to the public interest,” according to the recent filing.

There were several other motions and rulings made Monday in the case as well. Weld County District Court Judge denied Watts’ defense attorneys’ motion to investigate whether police or prosecutors leaked information about the case to the media.

His attorneys also filed a response to a request from prosecutors to obtain DNA evidence, buccal swabs and finger and palm prints in which they said that Watts “cannot make out the government’s need for buccal swabs, finger and palm prints, nor digital photographs.”

“Because of that,” his attorneys wrote, “Mr. Watts must conclude that the required seizure of Mr. Watts and the subsequent search of his person are unconstitutional …” BBM

Not interested in any actions to find his family and talking about selling the house the day after they went 'missing'.
Are you referring to the “financial trouble he might be selling the house “ Thayers interview ?

Neighbors said he showed no remorse, did not shed one tear and did not want to discuss neighbor's ideas as to where she might be, etc.. and stayed on his phone most of the time.

Really? Doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand why they would be requesting that. Weren't people suggesting he was intelligent? Surely they can find someone to 'splain that to him?

I really like the show Bull. I know it is fiction, but it does give you an idea on how jurors are chosen. When I was in a jury pool,we had to answer two pages of detailed questions before they interviewed us. Yesterday, as I read and lurked on this thread,it hit me that the defense needs to find people that don't object to where a body is put after it is dead. I cannot get past the fact that those two little girls were placed in oil tanks. The same way that I could not fathom that poor Lucas was "supposedly" found dead in his bed,yet his body was dumped in a culvert.I remember seeing his mother collapse as the van with his remains stopped by her. I don't care what the lawyers would instruct me to do..I cannot get past the fact that these girls were dumped like that and their father then begged for them to come home. MOO MOO

I thought the same thing Pommy... but I bet it's coming from his lawyers. IMO a guy that left a bed sheet matching those at his house at a crime scene he wished to conceal surely wouldn't come up with this on his own.

Omg, that image of JO falling to her knees haunts me too. I think I'll forever live with the image of Shanann's dad in the courtroom in my mind as well. :(
