Yes, a buccal swab was one of the tests requested along with finger and palm prints. (The bare footprint request just came out today).
did they request all his fingers printed or just a single finger being printed? Stupid question I am sure.

It was Frederick Police Department Item #26. Who knows what items 1-25 are and how many pieces of evidence follow #26. Still a lot we don't know, as they are still actively investigating.

Exactly. They will systematically go through each piece of evidence collected and photograph it, test for prints, examine for any residue, etc. Some tests will permanently change or destroy the item so they are done last. I know the glue-spray latent prints test does permanently change the item because it's basically covered in dried super glue. All of this just takes time and resources. And paperwork. Everything is documented carefully so there's lots of paperwork.

Are they possibly looking for an injury? or simply the imprinting of the fingers and palms?
I think it's just standard prints.

I don't recall but I believe it's People's Motion K and probably uploaded in Media thread.

But they are asking for a Polaroid Photograph so that seems to me they don't just want the prints they want the photographic image of the hands. I can't imagine a Polaroid photograph would help with finger prints?

I think CW did not take the time to shower at the home before going to the oil field. I am thinking he may have showered at work after dumping the bodies?
Do we know if there are shower facilities for employees at his work?
I think there may be because of the nature of the job and staff showering at work before leaving for home at the end of their shift. Just wondering.

Are uniforms required at his worksite? Or just a badge id?. If uniforms required, then most probable lockers and shower facilities.

Did they request a cheek swab for the dna sample? or is there something else they are requesting as well to obtain his dna?

Maybe something totally different. We don't know what story CW is telling to the LE. Maybe DNA is necessary to corroborate his story, and he is not telling the truth?

A Polaroid does not leave negatives, to minimize the leaks?

If the hands are next to a measuring device for scale, it would. Digital photos can be altered an old fashioned photo cannot.

I know mechanics wear coveralls so perhaps CW did as well. I assume they had shower facilities as his job could expose him to oil and chemicals that need to be washed off accordingly.

I believe the photographs requested are of the DNA collection and digit, palm, printing process to prove chain of custody, etc.

I think they said on Ashleigh Banfield last night that the “Polaroid” thing is just a request to photograph the collection procedure itself so everyone can see it was done properly.

I don't think Polaroid Photographs would capture with clarity hand prints.

Thanks Seattle1, now I understand.

It’s just to verify the process I believe. To demonstrate that the prints are his. Not to photograph his hands in detail or anything.

Edit* Third person to answer the same question.

The defense response said they wanted a reason why the DA need it. iow, did you screw up and not collect it when you were supposed to do it? Possibly laying the groundwork for sloppy LE work. JMO

Technically, if there is any close relative of CW who does not support his actions (a cousin), they could use his DNA. Just to at least proof if it was CW or someone else.

Heck, in a jail, they don't need a swab. A used cup is enough. Anything. And they just need the judge's order.

My husband worked in a coal mine. He would take clean clothes to work on Monday, change into them when he got to work, shower and change out of them when he finished, leave them in his locker and bring them home on Friday to be washed.
I had two washing machines, one for the family's (including his everyday clothes) and one for washing his work clothes. Y
You could not keep the coal dust out of the washing machine and it would taint the water.
