I mean it's basically a given that the Thayers and no one else saw this coming, when his own wife clearly didn't even see it coming...the point is, he spoke to them on Monday, the day his family was "missing" (aka murdered) about selling the home. In what context would that be okay when your friends are scrambling to find your wife and kids, and you're on your phone and eating pizza and sleeping through the night? It's just a stretch at this point to try and say his actions are being taken out of context. The context of the big picture has plenty of evidence, and it is within that context that all of these other details fall.
