I don't know what to say. What difference what that make? We still don't know how many videos she made, during the vacation or ever, so to my mind it's very difficult to analyze SW's feelings towards CW, the AP, the weather, the train schedule, or anything else from guessing how many videos there were. He MURDERED her.
Because posters are saying that she did not make videos because something was wrong. But she did make videos

It doesn’t sound good :( whichever way they were put in there, that poor man will probably never be able to look at those tanks again without thinking of Bella and Cece. Thanks for asking him what can’t have been an easy question to ask.
It was not easy to ask but we had already discussed the case, as has almost everyone around here, and he knew I was sincerely asking for his knowledge of the tanks.

oh, ok. I didn't know what you meant. Anyway only she knew how many videos she made vs those made available to the public. And without intending to start the whole topic again, i still think she posted a lot of videos so her parents could watch the kids grow up, and that since she was there with them, there was no need to publish many. But she probably kept taking them with gpa and gma with the kids.

Wouldn’t a Father whose family is “missing” want to stay at home in case his family re-appears?

Oh, that’s right - he killed them all. He knew where they were. That’s why he didn’t need to sleep there.

Exactly. If my family went missing you couldn't pry me out of my home to go stay somewhere else. No way. Do we know if the police asked him to not stay in the house that night?

  • #405
Well he obviously snapped.

But why at the time of night? He was the one philandering. He had a neighbors camera on his house which makes the missing scenario harder to prove for him.

So what made him snap at 3am?

It just sounds like she was leaving him.

I think he seen something on her phone without her knowledge and he went beserk. Maybe N.C home listings or something. Idk

IIRC I think we only have his word, which IMO doesn't mean anything. Unless I missed something in an article.

I haven’t read anything to indicate that. I know that during his wannabe Oscar performance on the porch, he indicated he didn’t want to sleep there another night. Perhaps too many memories of what he had done the night before.

Hi Dex :),

Indeed, I know I/we have asked ourselves the same questions, what made him snap if he did snap, but maybe he had already snapped, as in had already murdered the girls and was pretty much lying in wait for her when she got home, planning to kill her. Just jumping off your post.

Quite a few possible scenarios here as we try to imagine how this all actually went down, as far as premeditation, snapping...it’s all surreal.

That's kind of you to say, and you're welcome. I'll share one of my secrets! I use Pinterest. I have a board set up for each case. In this particular case, I've added sections for Family Annihilator resources, Strangulation, Court Appearances, etc. On each pin, I enter keywords such as "Dieter," "howling," etc. I can go straight to that board and/or section, enter ctrl F for "find," and whatever keyword I need. BOOM, there it is. :p

ETA: It also allows me to keep things that are not allowed to be posted here.
MOO

Ha! I love it. Most Pinterest accounts are full of Super Bowl Party ideas and plans for patio cover makeovers. And our WS member's Pinterest has Family Annihilator statistics, howling dogs and strangulation facts.

It would be interesting to know the actual monetary damages, remove the oil, clean out tanks, refill, if possible. I doubt that they discarded the oil. And the interruption of operations. The truck was probably held for evidence. Just the hassle, and being involved in the crime. It must have been substantial amount of money, time, effort.
Add to that all of the work of the Frederick PD and surrounding agencies did on the basis of his lies. I'm glad they were able to get what they needed to arrest him quickly instead of this playing out over a course of weeks or months.

I hope that she does not disappear or is suspected of some crime. Imagine the field day that would be had from examining her Pinterest account!

I am not sure it was really a ' snap.'

I think he had contemplated killing the family for awhile. And during those 5 weeks of bachelorhood, he made up his mind. IT HAD TO BE DONE.

He planned to do it soon. After she returned. He'd choose one night, dispose of them, then return home from work and begin calling around, acting concerned.

WHY that night? I don't think he snapped. I think she forced his hand. I think she told him she was leaving with the girls in the morning. She knew about his girlfriend and she was done. He had to make up his mind, but she was leaving in the mean time, going to her friends house.

He PANICKED. I don't think he snapped so much as he panicked. He knew that if he let her leave the house that morning, he'd never have a chance to 'disappear' them. It was now or never...

Anadarko petroleum corporation definitely has grounds for a civil lawsuit against CW.

Both oil tanks had to be completely drained for the body recovery operations. That probably cost quite a bit of money. I am sure that they just want it to go away, and their name be mentioned as little as possible.

He’s broke. No point in suing him now.

And he would have that pesky child support to pay, have to sell the house and give her half of any profit realised, and would have to have his children for custody visits.
And he would be forever known as a man who broke up his marriage to a pregnant wife and two little children because he was playing around.

If your wife had really walked out with your two little children, the first thing to do would be pick up her phone and call everyone she knew, to help you locate her.

Yes. I think that's why the Thayers were so concerned with his disinterest. I am sure they were doing just that. Calling all of their mutual friends---urgently asking if anyone had seen or heard from them.

And he apparently showed no interest in their ideas of where to look, etc. He couldn't even bother to feign interest, it seems.

Yes, and IIRC, I remember being surprised when he said he would be staying at the Thayer's "unless something develops in the next couple hours" (hope I have the quote correct from memory)...he didn't say "If we can find them" or "If they come home."

YES. Once she left, all the 'bad things' he wanted to avoid, would begin. He'd now have three children to support and to share custody with. He'd work all week to pay for the child support and their benefits, then he'd have to watch 3 kids on his weekends. Hard for him to accept that, after he just had that glorious 5 weeks of bachelorhood.

I can understand if he wanted someone to come and stay with him. I don't know that I would've wanted to be alone. But for him to actually leave the house...

or more importantly (for me): guilt, remorse, crushing sadness, loss, grief...
