Nope, waiting on the autopsy results to be released.

It actually makes more sense for him to be telling the truth here, atleast in regards to the method used to kill them.

This is contrary to my standard protocol of assuming that everything he says is a lie.

Exactly. We have accepted a known liar, and killer at face value on something very crucial.

It’s going to be a long haul waiting for the trial (if there’s a trial).
For the sake of the families I hope there will not be a trial.
I wonder if it is normal for a DT to advise a client to NOT go to trial or if they usually encourage the client to go to trial if its a high profile case?

Thank you Liltexans for putting up with us, cleaning up after us and for re-opening the thread. We will try to be better behaved so we don't get any time-outs or have to go to bed early (and when I say we, I mean me :D ).
I love that you have brought back the victim-friendly guidelines to this thread. It's what keeps me hanging around here. :)
Victim-friendly is what WS has always been known for in the past. You can go to a variety of other lesser-known sites/groups that allow trashing of victims. I try not to make problems for our moderators because I do appreciate the forum.

Very little today, most time spent focusing on other crimes.
1. Will C.W. reenact the killings as he remembers them in court? Crime journalist, Pat Lalama said if C.W. tries to reenact this story that would be like throwing fresh meat to a lion after that abominable display of deception when he gave those interviews, lie after lie, after lie. Unless his defenders think he’s 100% innocent and telling the truth all he would do is give the prosecution so much fodder, it would bury him. No way is this going to happen. Jodi Arias did a re-enactment at her trial. Didn’t turn out so well. When you lie and make up stories it doesn’t turn out so well. You can’t reenact it. Susan Wright’s Prosecutor dragged Wright’s marital bed into the courtroom, and the prosecutor got on the bed with a man who played the victim. The prosecutor straddled the man in that bed and acted out stabbing him. It was very effective, and it worked for the Prosecution.
2. Former police, Tom Morris Jr. explains, this case, the diabolical way CW got rid of the bodies, putting the two girls into an oil tank, burying his wife in a shallow grave 40 miles away, that also says to a jury that this man could have called the police when he first saw his wife strangling his children. He didn’t do that. Even if you reenact the situation, a jury is going to see through that. AB said, “But juries are unpredictable.”
Thanks Layla, for your summary!

agree, the interpretation of some of the videos is a stretch to say the least. In the “abusive” water bottle squirting video l, I watched it after reading some comments about horrible she was, I thought I was going to see her almost water boarding her, instead I saw a little girl laughing and squealing in delight.
My point of view for this video is that she used a spray bottle rather than one of those water soaker guns. Had she used one of those toys, I personally think everyone would view this video differently. I agree with you @Nancy Murphy that they were having fun plain and simply. MOO

It's the only thing I believe him on.

Thank you, Layla! And for anyone who hasn't seen Kelly Seigler in the courtroom on the bed reenacting the stabbing in the Susan Wright trial - run, don't walk, to YouTube. LOL It will blow your mind. :D

Omg, their little pink noses...so precious. Such a loss of life.

I watched a few seconds but then I quit. I can not watch them anymore. Although I did not know them it breaks my heart just again and again for them. :(

Kelly Seigler is my hero! I love her to bits, and Yolanda McClary. Amazing women! Cold Justice.

I’m not sure if advising clients not to go to trial is a normal practice. I don’t think it is. Maybe @Amandaaa or one of the other attorneys can chime in.

I think it’s likely he’ll spend life in prison for killing his pregnant wife.

The prosecutor in this case should push for jurors to take a field trip to the burial site, IMO. Have them look at the massive, ugly, frightful looking tanks for themselves.

I know, you almost can’t help but love them because they, like all children, are precious and innocent.

Their job is to achieve the best possible outcome for their client. This is based in large part, on the evidence against them.

If the DA goes for the death penalty here, and the defense thinks the prosecution’s case is strong, they will likely push for their client to accept a plea in order to avoid the death penalty.

It’s ultimately up to CW though.

I don't usually get emotional about cases. On an intellectual level I find it a tragedy and their deaths pointless, and I often feel indignation, but I have never followed or written about a case that really punched me in the gut and made me really sad. There have been a few videos in this one, and one particular picture, that have gotten to me, however. Maybe it's because I work during the night and sometimes my daughter gets up and lays down in my office with me. I'll occasionally take a break and catch up on the forum. Late at night, when I am watching the videos or looking at the pictures, I will glance over at my daughter and it does kind of hit me hard. Children's murders get to me anyway-many of us try so hard to keep our kids healthy and safe so when someone intentionally kills their child, it hits on a bunch of levels.

For those who haven't seen it, I recommend this episode of 48 hours about Christian Longo, another FA.

The Pretender

The episode is about 45min. I'd seen it before back when it originally aired, but was interesting to watch it again with fresh eyes (since following this CW case). There are some amazing similarities, IMO. Jmo

I watched Fatal Vision on Monday because I wanted to see if there were any similarities between CW and JMcD.

I think its well worth watching, (although I'll watch anything with Scott Foley!!!!!).

I concluded that JMcD was an alpha male with heaps of self-confidence that bordered on arrogance. A leader not a follower. I don't think he was insecure in his masculinity, just the opposite.

CW strikes me as submissive and insecure with himself, more of a follower. Its possible that his buff physical transformation made him more confident and aggressive.
MOO

Did you ever read the book Fatal Vision? I actually found his relentless womanizing and cheating on his wife, his long stretches away from his family, always inviting outsiders into family gatherings, including an adoring(male) co-worker, to be huge indications of his insecurities and inability to to be closely bonded with his family. Regardless of his arrogance and confidence. Overcompensating methinks

Awesome! Thank you so much. I will watch it later tonight.

I understand it's uncomfortable to discuss the possibility that his story is true. However, nobody here is "trying" to believe him nor rationalizing his actions.
Respectfully and IMOO, I disagree because if you're looking for a motive and considering his story could be true then you are trying to find an excuse somehow to blame the victim. Again, MOO

If this is goes DP, I've no doubt they'll be making a trip to CERVI ...
