Child porn doesn't have to be on the internet. It can be stored in hard copies which is why there are multi-jurisdictional task forces. Possession is illegal no matter how it was obtained. JMO

A married couple does discuss birth control and if a husband believes his wife is using birth control pills, he isn't going to use birth control himself.

SW implied they were using birth control because she chose to wear a t-shirt that said "oops." An
oops usually happens when birth control is used and it isn't effective. I had one and she now has had three and using a different method of birth control.

I doubt CW was thrilled or even happy with a third child. JMO

At about the 27:00 mark, the reporter asks if Nico was planned. AT responds, “Yes, he was,” and then describes how she learned that. "Shanann and I were going to get our nails done or something one day and she told me that Chris that night before told her that he wanted another child and she was all on board."

Apparently, any lurid insinuation about SW is okay without backing. But any mention of possible wrongdoing on the part of CW is gross speculation and grasping at straws.

My head is just spinning here with this.

This sums it up for me, too. Just like the thought of CW not wanting the 3rd child and not being happy about it, when he said he wanted it and loved the little peanut already.

Just like the thought that SW may very well have left a suicide note detailing her intentions and apologies, which she would have had to have written before she even got home as there wasn't time when CW went downstairs for a minute and she strangled both children. Meaning she had premeditated murdering the children and committing suicide, and there's a note stating this, yet he's charged with 5 counts... wait a minute, but that was the DA being political, not actually doing his job.

Am I in the twilight zone? This can't be reality, here. This has got to be some kind of "devil's advocate" situation and we're being tested about defense theories.

Not difficult to prove if the physical evidence is there. Abuse happens to babies too.
A gynecologist could easily confirm this.

ITA. There are now pediatricians specially trained in child forensic sexual abuse examinations and police trained in child sexual abuse interviewing techniques. The State Attorney told me such interviews have been successful in children as young as three. JMO

While a pregnancy might be unplanned, and birth control may not work, a man who actively does not want any kids with a certain woman would definitely use protection.

The murders are purely for revenge and to punish the husband and father in an emotion that overrides the mother's love for the children. She has no intention of "sharing" the children with another woman and would rather kill them than share them.

Marilyn Lemak killed her children because she found an email from David's new girlfriend and it said she looked forward to meeting the children that weekend. Marilyn made sure that meeting never took place. David later married the woman and had a child with her but he was obviously emotionally devastated by the loss of his three children. JMO

We have no information that CW was planning to introduce the AP to the girls and force SW to co-parent or “share” them with her. CW had not filed for divorce. He had not moved out to live with the AP.

In addition, SW is not known to have displayed the public reactions that ML did to the breakdown of her marriage. The most we have is that SW may have told a friend she might need some support soon.

In short, while the Lemak case is awful and certainly an example of a mom killing her kids, it really looks nothing like what we know of the Watts case unless we make up a lot information that currently doesn’t exist.

Not Medusa. Medea. Medusa turned men into stone with her gaze. Please, don’t say Medusa complex because Internet is full of jokes about Medusa and these guys.

And even Medea, actually, should not be used for these cases. Her main goal was not revenge - she was afraid that after Jason would marry the young princess Kreusa, his and Medea’s children would be slaves to Jason’s new kids with the other woman.

Women do this far less often, and almost always have severe and documented episodes of mental instability (police calls, DCF, involuntary committals).

Statistics are irrelevant to a jury. Marilyn Lemak had no police calls, DCF visits or involuntary committals. Neither did Susan Smith, who drowned her children because her boyfriend didn't want kids. JMO

I'm not saying he was or wasn't abusing them because I haven't seen any evidence. I just wanted to say not all children are verbal and not everyone that was abused tells.

I don’t know - maybe people are more aware than me. But I would be surprised if CW turned out to be the sexual abuser of own kids. He was too distant.

I doubt the shirt or the ambushing of CW with a camera in his face will be irrelevant at trial.

A friend knows only what SW told her and by that time, SW may have known about the AP. JMO

Re the significance of the disposal of bodies to the trial and religious significance of desecration.

We need to keep in mind that the defence will admit body disposal and thus there will be at a basic statement of agreed facts read into evidence on that point.

So while the wording of the statute creating the offence is critical, in this case the prosecution and defence won't be contesting the meaning of those words or the basic actions.

Instead the prosecution will be using the body disposal as proven circumstantial evidence from which to infer guilt on the murder of the kids

So in that context the prosecution can indeed cast a wider net not limited to the words of the statute.

Especially in this case where the defence is bound to try to argue that CW was the model loving husband/family man.

The prosecution can legitimately argue that these are actions which no moral (or indeed christian), law abiding man would take - based upon generally accepted standards of behaviour in our society - if he were innocent.

It is not only about the mechanics of concealment to get away with murder, but everything that implies about a lack of love, respect, morality and values - as applied to his children.

I find it to be a strong argument.

The exception to this is generally the domestic abuse type cases where one spouse kills the child and the other assists in the cover up.

But these cases are usually about one spouse trying to protect a loved partner - and often out of fear, not just of consequences but of the partner themselves.

In this case CW murdered his partner. So why would he erase evidence of her guilt?
