I just had a thought. I wonder if the DA had a lot of evidence of CW affairs and sexual proclivities and it was explained that this would all come out in trial with witnesses and evidence. And everyone will know. I think this would explain CW's capitulation, his anger, and frustration, because it is not something he wants to come out!
The reality of it was applied with full force, as it should have been. I have felt slightly light in the last day just knowing that justice will be served.Exactly. A death sentence would come after a painful trial. Then there would be decades of appeals and he likely would have died an old man, which is the same result we have here.
I was hoping that the DA would go for the death penalty, only because I hoped that it would force his hand and make him plea.
It’s over now, as painlessly as possible.
I think they know but think it might implicate other people, indirectly, and since CW, who is the killer, acknowledged it, they want to close the case w/o disclosing too many details. Sooner or later, people will fill in all the blanks, of course.Regarding the order of these horrific deaths, I may be interpreting wrong but I believe the prosecutor said in the press conference that they don't know. And the only way they could know would be if CW told them, but they cannot believe a word he would say so it remains unknown. jmo
ETA: that tells me they weren't able to put together a timeline through the autopsies. I'm curious to see the theory they hopefully put forth after this FA is sentenced.

He pleaded guilty and signed his name to murders after deliberation. Not acts of spontaneous or impulsive acts. You can read in the link to his plea.

No. They said they do know. And the only person implicated in this horrific crime directly is Chris Watts. This prosecutor is not afraid of details. He demanded them.I think they know but think it might implicate other people, indirectly, and since CW, who is the killer, acknowledged it, they want to close the case w/o disclosing too many details. He confessed and signed to premeditated. Despite your references to outside speculation which is now mute considering his signed confession. jmoYes I did. But as you can guess, I am not a lawyer. I totally misunderstood “intimacy” in that context, another phrase they used, and remembered one of APs describing him as “animalistic”, and started thinking. How would I know that intimacy in juridical lingo also means “family life”?
But still - does it mean, necessarily, premeditated? Or is the parlance also used to close any chance of the defendant blaming it on temporary insanity, or “crime of passion”?

Rourke will comment on what they believe the motive was, at least in part, after business is taken care of on the 19th. My guess is they are going to say he wanted rid of the family to pursue his affairs. He didn't want the burden of child support and an expensive divorce.I think they know but think it might implicate other people, indirectly, and since CW, who is the killer, acknowledged it, they want to close the case w/o disclosing too many details. He signed to premeditated. It is what it is. jmo despite the people who crawled out of the woodwork. He did it, he's a monster... and signed his name to it.Yes I did. CW is a weak, soulless, entity. I agree with @gitana1 that he will likely commit suicide at some point because he will not be able to handle hearing what other inmates say to a child murderer because he believes himself superior and entitled. Men can get by with killing wives and girlfiends but when you kill innocent babies you fall at the bottom of the pecking order in prison. Yes, our jails should be safe for people to pay their debt to society, and CW owes us a debt of four lifetimes, but let's not be so nieve as to not acknowledge the reality of what prison is really like.
This case has been solved. Jmo... which really isn't necessary because he signed to all charges as charged. This case has been solved..It is not about CW. I don’t want to get into details; I truly enjoy the fact that this forum is free of politics or religion.
So - let us put it so. I understand why CW came to the hearing in a bullet-proof vest. (A coward! No, he’ll never kill himself in the prison).
But the fact that we are calmly discussing the fact that maybe CW will be killed in prison by an inmate since, sadly, he avoided death penalty, seems somewhat unethical to me. This being said, I am as angry with CW as anyone else.
I don’t want to attack anyone who thinks otherwise, btw. I recognize that the people have the right to feel this way after what he’s done. I wish all killers of young children or babies were brought to justice. It is very sad that it does not always happen. Some cases might never be solved.
It is more of a global issue, not specifically CW.

The bottom line is his confession filled in the blanks. Accept it. The details are forthcoming once this FA is sentenced. No one else is implicated.
Details without implications will be released by the prosecutor. jmo Chris Watts is the only implicated party here. jmo
This case has been solved.
