Agree wholeheartedly. Just wanted to say that he has now admitted to killing his wife, unborn child and Bella and CeCe. Guilty as charged to every charge. He's done.
Now he will be lead around through life by the nose. Told when and what he can eat, when he can shower, what he will wear, who he can see, what he can have, when he gets clean clothes, what he can watch, what he can read, if he gets to leave his tiny little cell and when, the list goes on and on. His boss is now the correctional department thank goodness . jmo
But that is what he likes. He was a poor little boy who was bullied by a woman to do what, when, and how. He couldn't find his way out of a paper bag without someone telling him how to do it.

I watched the Watt's Radio Discussion.
It is prior to plea, if I watched the correct one.
Thanks for the Popcorn, and I shared my ice cream and chips.:):):)
Gitana, as always was terrific.
I would also like to hear later, the 'life' CW will have in Prison, the conditions there after sentencing.
The one tonight, with Tricia, Gitana, Liltexans and a fellow whose name escapes me is post plea.

Please, may I have the site: the one I watched, was produced a month ago, so I have no idea what you are all discussing.

So I'll watch again, without my chips and ice cream as all gone.

When I first went to listen, and pressed play, I got the old one. I heard about 7 minutes before I realised it was staying on the pre-plea discussion. I refreshed the page and pressed play again and got the new one. This may be what happened to you.

I am in Aus and heard it, albeit 15 minutes in.

Thanks for the podcast. I was particularly interested in hearing @gitana1 speak - it was nice to put a voice to the poster that has provided so much insight into the legal matters. I am so unfamiliar with USA legal process, I would have really struggled without her input.

The "poor Chris" narrative bothers me endlessly, but I feel I just need to accept it and move on. Even if the alternate fantastical reality was true, he is no poor Chris. He forced his kids into oil tanks at the very, very minimum possibility of his involvement. Poor, poor Chris. *sarcasm*

I admit in the beginning, I struggled with aligning what I believed him to have done, with the images of him I saw. The family looks so normal. He is a normal looking guy, in his photos I thought he had kind looking eyes and a nice smile. I never, ever thought Shanann killed her girls, but it was hard to wrap my brain around it. But I did. I think the apologists are forever trapped in those early stages and because they can't get their heads around him annihilating his whole family, they need to find the alternate reality. But hey people! He dropped his kids in oil. Can't you at least manage to hate him for that?! smh

I haven't seen anything on chess. Link?

Not tonight, horribly slow internet in the office. Even this site is almost nonresponsive. I can tell you where I saw it. The article itself is probably even linked at the beginning of the threads. It was the same one that interviewed Chris Watts' schoolmates and teacher. They were all suprised, saying that he was the nicest guy, the teacher mentioned him having photographic memory, bhah, blah. All girls were secretly in love with him. One of the kid who was interviewed played chess with Chris. (I made a mental note of it). The article also mentioned him playing some football (recreational?). It was shortly after the killings. I shall try to find it.

You would not believe the reasons that his apologists have for dumping them in filthy crude oil.
He wanted to keep them warm!
He knew where they would be and could visit them any time.
Can you believe it?

Wow. These people must have mental illness, surely.

Solitary confinement is nothing short of torture, especially when it's prolonged. You're not allowed reading material, to speak to the guards (or anyone), to watch television, etc. It is smaller than a horse stable. Many activists are out there working right now to have it removed from our prison systems. Being put in solitary is much different than being in protective custody where you're still allowed certain things yet are removed from everyone else. I'm not saying that I wouldn't want this for CW, but I definitely wouldn't want it for myself. I'd literally rather be dead.

What Does Solitary Confinement Do To Your Mind?

Agree; also, I think it is also very bad for the rest of the country. Because when prisoners who had spent a lot of time in solitary confinement are released out into the community, they are more, not less, dangerous, than before, and it is not their fault.

I don't know to what extent we're supposed to discuss that site, but since it was discussed in depth on the podcast, I'll point out the depths they go to in just one case, as an example. Re the christmas video, sw was " purposely teaching her children to be liars, because there is no Santa." Paraphrased. Cw was not, it was all sw. On and on. Ok that's all I will use as an example.

That is, without a doubt, one of the stupidest things I've ever heard in my life.

IMO

For the benefit of those that missed the podcast, I'm going to prepare a summary of the main points of the podcast with Tricia, liltexans, gitana1, Levi Page. Some but not all is verbatim.

VI Colorado303 was going to discuss how social media can rip a family like Shan’ann’s apart but she decided not to participate because she didn’t want to say anything that could have even the slightest effect on CW’s sentencing. She was worried that she would blurt out something that she shouldn’t. She will come on the show after the 19th.

Nick Thayer said he couldn’t participate because Shan’ann’s family had asked everyone not to speak to the media until after the 19th, at which time he too is happy to come on the show.

LP: The death penalty is made for people like CW, people who pray on people that are weaker than him – little girls, a pregnant wife that isn’t going to have the strength to fight him off. He chose them in their most vulnerable state and it speaks to his cowardice.

G1: I was very surprised and shocked out of my shoes. Once he’d made up the story about Shan’ann murdering the girls that he actually killed, that was so disgusting and it really shows his character and his ability to go to any lengths to destroy the reputation of his victim in order to escape accountability. This is a guy who thinks he can get away with a ridiculous story because he’s used to getting away with things and he thinks he’s going to again. That, coupled with the fact that he’s a family annihilator, in my opinion these kinds of people who decimate their entire family and don’t also kill themselves are the type of people who are so terrified of being unmasked and seen as less than perfect, and shown to be a person with negative emotions or someone who’s done something wrong, they’re so terrified of that, that it’s almost impossible for them to admit to guilt if they’re not going to kill themselves. So when family annihilators survive, they typically almost never admit to guilt.

I was shocked when he pleaded guilty but was not shocked that the DA accepted the guilty plea. The only plea I thought he would accept is life without parole and guilty on all first degree murder charges because that DA was not going to accept less than full accountability.

And they took about 20 minutes to spit it out, playing the video, then castigating sw because she was giving orders to the girls and ordering cw around, and she let the girls cry, etc etc etc. All her fault. To be fair, one of the 2 hostesses mildly did not go along with the "teaching the girls to be liars" spiel, but the other hostess sure did.

And it was their father who kept them on his lap and forced them to stay on his lap. What is he? A father or a mouse?

Continuation of summary of the main points of the podcast: Tricia, liltexans, gitana1, Levi Page. Some but not all is verbatim.

LP: I would imagine that his defence lawyers advised him to plead guilty. I think that played a big role. A defence lawyer sits him down and says, “Look, this is the evidence against you. There’s no way that we’re going to be able to get a not guilty verdict. It’s going to be even a stretch for us to get a hung jury so you need to plead guilty and end this or otherwise you could get a needle in the arm and be on death row.

G1: I don’t know that a defence attorney in a case like this would advise them to plead guilty. I don’t think that’s exactly what happened. I do however agree with Levi that they sat there and they laid it all out for him, all of the evidence, much of which we don’t know, but a lot we do already and it’s pretty powerful, and I think they explained, “All of this is going to come out in an extremely long, drawn out trial. It’s going to be a circus, a dog and pony show, and you’re gonna be found guilty. Your defence is terrible. It’s not gonna work. So you have to think about the ramifications of that. Do you want to spare yourself, your family, Shan’ann’s family, everyone who loves these victims. Do you want to spare everybody that trial or do you want to go through with this and end up in the same place or worse like Levi said”. That’s what I think it came down to.

There was a lot of discussion on the board about it and I think a lot of people had the belief that he didn’t want to sit through that, hearing all that evidence. I mean everything’s going to come out – text messages, live testimony, very dramatic, from the woman he had an affair with – the affair, talking about his demeanour – all this, everything we don’t know about – internet searches, all of it was going to be testified to in dramatic fashion and that’s going to burn in people’s memories. A guilty plea is not going to burn in people’s memories as much as a full bore trial would.

T: I think it absolutely did.
