Edited to add: if so, this changes his whole family dynamic for me and what Shanann was up against.

I’ve certainly heard that before, but not via a channel I can share here unfortunately.

Yes. But that came from the perspective of someone who loathes Shanann. Shanann had a very different account. And there was mention of the grandmother purposefully giving another grandchild an ice cream with nuts in front of the one who was allergic.

Who does that? To me that's a pathological desire to undermine parental authority. To the point where you're willing to take an unnecessary risk or make a child feel bad, just to assert control or make a point.

Absolutely, Shanann was also angered that the MIL did not have a safe alternative for Celest. What kind of grandmother gives other children ice cream in front of a 2 year old and expects them to understand?? Cruel and no reason except for what you stated.

This story has been referred to so many times and I still don't understand the context as I missed the original story and then we were asked not to discuss it. Did someone accuse Shanann of giving the kids nuts, or the mother in law? Who is Mimi? Did the mother in law not believe the kids were allergic to nuts? Did Shanann complain about her mother in law? I have been curious about this since I first saw it. I only saw posts saying, "there were no nuts in the ice cream" and " there were no nuts on the table." What the heck is the deal with the nuts?!

SW asked her MIL to not have nuts in the house when they visited, in July. She replied that she never bought them. MIL was aware that Celeste had a deadly allergy to nuts, and the presence of them could have caused anaphylaxis . So, when they get to the house lo and behold there is a large bag of pistachios, out on a counter in the kitchen.
SW gets perturbed at this,tells MIL and the bag of nuts is put away. The following day, MIL gives an ice cream with NUTS on it, to another child in front of Celeste. When SW reproaches her about this MIL says " she has to learn that there are some things she can't have". SW is then upset, takes the girls and leaves and doesn't plan to ever go back. She calls CW to tell him and in turn he calls his mother to complain.
There was VI on this forum who said she was present when this happened and implied SW was over reacting. She said the pistachios were unopened, were out of reach and blah blah, not worried that they could have caused life threatening reaction just by being in the same room. As Gitana said, this comment came from someone who clearly loathed SW.

That’s how I remembered it too. It was posted in a support group for parents of children with nut allergies. The comments by SW in that group can be found online.

Thank you! I got bits of pieces of the story, but all this time never knew all the details.

I also happen to be transgender. I present as a man. And I look like a man. But I know what that life was. As a femine woman who raised three children who were not mine, I fought for lesbian rights. For 14 years. as a "hot" lesbian step mom. It was hard back then.
I also have a very big lawsuit going on. In a state that sucks imo.Please don't sleuth me. But I am winning.
