PLEASE watch this video FROM APRIL where Shanann lays out the family's plan for the summer, including the trip to San Diego (her and Chris) and the North Carolina vacation. Both were planned well before the marital problems (ie: Chris cheating on her) began. As the discovery documents indicate, that came out of left field and began DURING her stay in North Carolina and they had NEVER had issues like that before.

I wonder why did Shanann decide to leave the husband home alone for 6 weeks? Was it common for her to spend 6 weeks in NC in summer, or was it something new? And if it was, perhaps it signified some change in their relationship?

The oil industry is bust or boom. Many, many young people run into financial problems by having great money. Most other people there age in that area live well, too. When the industry goes, "bust" it is disastrous. You cannot easily find another job that will pay as well. I remember seeing a bumper sticker years ago after about a huge downturn in the oil industry. It said, "Please let us have another oil boom. I promise that I won't piss it away this time." That sums it up pretty well.

In another video where Shanann was demonstrating facial products, she said they went to North Carolina every year. Perhaps Chris did not want to go this time and saw this as an opportunity to have uninterrupted time with NK.

I'm not sure the source of the quote, but an IT guy for Anadarko started looking through e-mails and found suspicious e-mails between the two indicating that NK and CW were having an affair. He turned that information over to investigators. She was being investigated heavily before she went in to meet with the investigators. She made the initial contact with LE, but not until others had reported info on her. LE already had lots of information going in to that interview with her. This is from the discovery dump.

That seems to indicate that she did in fact approach law enforcement on her own volition.

I’m not sure how to reconcile this with the email from Anadarko about their discovery of incriminating emails between NK and CW.

Perhaps she was telling the truth after all, and she came forward before LE received communication from the company.

The source is the Discovery dump. Either pages 1925 (@the bottom of each page or 1740 of 1960. NK’s failure to contact or the timing of NK’s contact is not mentioned in your quotation. Is it possible they contacted different LE offices around the same time?

She may have been disingenuous, but make no mistake, CW was the master manipulator.

He likely learned this behavior from his family, but that by no means excuses it.

CW manipulated Shanann, his mistress, and just about everyone he came in contact with.

He convinced people that he was something he was not, a decent human being.

I’m sure there was DNA taken during the autopsies to verify paternity. I would think it would be standard practice.

I think I actually read most of it and I don't think it went into fact checking everything he said about finances for instance? (and I'm not saying that means much in the bigger picture of the case anyway)

Not directing this at anyone in particular but...

By questioning SW's choice of job, the amount of money she made, the amount of money she spent and then a few comments here and there about CW being under a lot of stress, it seems people are looking for a "reason" he hated her or a reason he went into a rage or a reason he killed her. I'm sorry but it comes across that way. There is no reason. No matter what she did (and she did NOTHING wrong) there's no reason for him murdering her and those precious children and shoving them into holes. People say they want to understand him but I don't think anyone can ever fully understand why a man would do this and even if he told us the exact reason and passed a polygraph to prove his "reason" was true, does it matter? There's nothing he could say or we could find out that would justify any of this.
An innocent woman was murdered by the man she loved and yet people are still investigating her. I don't get it.

Yeah I see what you're saying I admit I just find it hard not to look for a reason. It doesn't have to be a good reason, just any reason that would tip someone who already had it in them to crack over the edge. I agree it's never going to make sense or be justified. I find myself wishing they would find out he had a tumor or something to explain it because I don't want to believe seemingly caring parents can snap like that. And didn't even Shanann's parents think he was a caring father up until then?

I am not trying to “defend” him with that. Even in the extremely unlikely chance that she did kill the girls and he snapped and killed her, his behavior and lack of apparent distress about it after would still absolutely boggle the mind. There's something really off with him and maybe I'm so curious I have some “on the spectrum” type people in my life.

Like way back in the thread someone mentioned something about a neighbor hearing him yelling but that doesn't go with any of the other descriptions of him from Shanann or her friends as far as I can tell. He seems like he just went around mimicking whatever he thought people wanted right up until the end. It's just weird to me.

Yeah. The important thing to focus on in regards to that document, is who specifically is making the claims.

Everything he said, should be considered a lie unless there is corroboration.

We’ve seen that he lies in circumstances in which there is no apparent reason to lie.

It is stated in the discovery that Shanann would not be able to travel for the duration of her pregnancy by plane after this trip. That she wanted to spend time with both families (CW's sister had never met CeCe, and Bella only once) and that she could work while down there. It was simply to spend time with family mostly. It was planned months before.
