I am surprised at all the comments about Shanann going to NC for 6 weeks was way too long. There are thousands upon thousands of married military spouses that are separated for months at a time with neither spouse carrying on an affair or murdering their entire family. Shanann's visit to NC for 6 weeks is NOT the reason CW murder his family. He did not just suddenly meet NK the minute Shannan's plane took off from Colorado. IMO CW and NK had been hot for each other months before Shanann went to NC

Military deployment is an interesting thing. That there are many is a fact, but how many marriages are broken by them? We don't know, but probably, a certain amount. There may not necessarily be an affair with the coworker, but visiting sex industry workers when abroad? I am reading about it pretty often.

I have a history in my family when a couple had been separated for 4 years and the wife risked immensely by visiting the spouse (it was a military situation), "to keep the family together".

I just typed Amber Frey into Google. It came up with a drop down menu and this included book. So it could have been that.
The search engine only records the pages you have visited, not all the possibilities.

Really? She was interested in Amber Frey's net worth!! I also understand it, but there's no reason to discount her actions. That would be doing what she did: discount and downplay her involvement with CW. MOO
I can see myself doing the same thing. Maybe I’m just as horrible a person. I googled it after reading NK did. Amber Frey isn’t worth much. NK has to feel like her life is over.

Not directing this at anyone in particular but...

By questioning SW's choice of job, the amount of money she made, the amount of money she spent and then a few comments here and there about CW being under a lot of stress, it seems people are looking for a "reason" he hated her or a reason he went into a rage or a reason he killed her. I'm sorry but it comes across that way. There is no reason. No matter what she did (and she did NOTHING wrong) there's no reason for him murdering her and those precious children and shoving them into holes. People say they want to understand him but I don't think anyone can ever fully understand why a man would do this and even if he told us the exact reason and passed a polygraph to prove his "reason" was true, does it matter? There's nothing he could say or we could find out that would justify any of this.
An innocent woman was murdered by the man she loved and yet people are still investigating her. I don't get it.

I think some of us are wondering about warning signs. I have children and grandchildren.

It has been a real shocker to see someone who appears to be a loving father turn into a monster almost before our very eyes.

Just like with the book the Gift of Fear, I am trying to have any insights. That is why I read the book about Scott Peterson . That is why I think Ann Rule books are so good.

Knock on wood. I don’t have much interaction with murderers so the written word is where I am at

For me is says: AF wiki, AF now, AF age, AF net worth, 'book deal' does not come up for me.

If it is the same where I lived in MN, the wife has to sign on in order for him to ger any of it.
In my state, the spouse must also sign off on their wife/husband designating anybody other than each other as beneficiary of their 401k.

Fair enough. It actually doesn't come up with 'book deal' on mine just 'book'

I do not think being gone 6 weeks is good for your marriage.

This has nothing to do with why CW cheated on his wife. Many marriages have remained stable and wonderful with numerous separations. We have separations routinely for various reasons, and enjoy the honeymoon reunions. I will be gone for work for eight weeks in January, I am pretty sure that my husband won't be texting women while I am gone.

Guys! Can we talk more about Candace, CW's biggest fan? I'm pretty sure anyone who writes like that needs to go to a loony bin. Page 1361

Didn’t he fail the polygraphs? My understanding from interview with friends is she was not referring to just sex, but the constant, hugging , touching, holding hands. She referenced he would not even kiss her or touch her when he arrived in NC. I relate this to my husband, we have been married 30 years and he still slaps be on the rear end as I walk by, if those little affections stopped I would wonder why.

He did not fail this very question. He failed the crucial question about hurting Shanann. He answered "No", and it is precisely what he failed.

The quote absence makes the heart grow fonder comes to mind. SW was missing everything about her husband, whereas CW was distancing and preparing for the discard of all of them. So heartbreaking to read what SW and their children were experiencing.

Ok so Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer is on and yes I still watch it.
I need something happy and a break from CW.

The marriage was not in any trouble in any real sense. The marriage did not fall apart because of a 6 week trip.

Unbeknownst to SW the entire marriage was a sham, a facade kept up by a man incapable of any true love or empathy for anyone but himself.

CW is 100% at fault for 100% of this situation.

Moo

Edit to fix spelling

I’m pretty sure that several letters were actually sent from patients at Bellevue Psychiatric Hospital.

That, or people who really need to be there.

Great post, you definitely hit on the nail, Chris's thought process

You know, I put this question into Google. Goodle immediately answered: "If all narcissists discard then how are some married for 25+years to the same partner?"

https://www.quora.com/If-all-narcis...married-for-25-plus-years-to-the-same-partner

So if Chris read that answer, he'd have to Google "narcissist", then "treatment"...I think that eventually he'd end up in a psychotherapist's office if he kept on Googling, and together they would find a more efficient (and lives-sparing) way out of the situation.

It was learned from her INTERVIEW on the afternoon of 8/15. Huskey had already told LE that morning at 8 am that they may be having an affair. When did she call? Before or after Huskey had already talked to LE? MOO

We do have her detailed phone bill beginning on August 14.

I think my greatest fear is if people succeed in destroying NK, LE is going to have a hard time getting witnesses to come forward in the future. NK is not responsible for these murders. She had a very sexy, romantic, exciting, sordid affair with a lying 🤬🤬🤬 married man. She loved every minute of it. He murdered his family, and all of a sudden the most embarrassing and personal details of her private life have been released to the public for all to judge, blame, mock, and condemn. I can understand why she would want to protect herself and try to keep a lid on it. Did it really help the investigation for the world to learn NK googled anal sex? I can see NK going into a huge depression and possibly killing herself.

Narcissism pales in comparison to antisocial personality disorder.

There’s no cure for sociopathy, as you can’t teach empathy.

Actually, his affair and the need to do something about it was probably the first time the responsibility fell on Chris. And the only time Chris was trusted with own decision, he chose to annihilate his family.

Maybe there is a reason why no one, ever, delegated him with making own decision, why he was a pampered child? Why Shanann told him what to do and bossed him around, per coworkers? See what he did when left to own resources!

\

SBM & BBM Chris was 33 years old and was married for 8 years ! He took care of the girls when SW would travel on business trips. According to his supervisor , Chris was his go to guy. IMO, Chris was only responsible for the people or things he wanted to be responsible for when he felt like being responsible or needed others to think he was a nice guy. IMO , SW pampered the husband she loved by taking care of everything because that is exactly the way Chris wanted things to be

I did not realize he took more than one polygraph. The only one I read about were the three questions regarding Shanann. If he physically caused her disappearance, if he was lying about the last time he saw her, and if he knew where she was now. When did they do a polygraph about the affair and what were the questions? I didn't see that anywhere.
