After watching Chris' interrogation and his subsequent visit w/Ronnie, I now believe Ronnie knew before the "confession" that Chris killed the girls too. When Dad joined CW in the interrogation room Chris told him Shanann choked the girls, and Ronnie's response was "choked or smothered"? For Ronnie to question if Chris meant smother instead of choke, it would seem Ronnie had heard a version previously involving smothering. We heard LE feed CW the "Shanann killed the girls" defense shortly before his father arrived so it's doubtful he discussed that version with his Dad yet. Now that we know the girls were actually smothered, it seems likely CW confessed to his father he killed them all during their car ride from the airport. This also explains why he insisted on talking to his Dad before confessing--it was to give Ronnie a heads up so he wouldn't say CW admitted to killing the girls too.

Combine that w/the speculation that the flowered bag Ronnie took w/him into the hotel was the same bag CW was seen putting into the Lexus, I think it's possible Ronnie was an accessory after the fact. Thoughts please.

I am with you 100% in this thinking. The exchange between them seemed to weird. As in, they had discussed this in the car earlier. Maybe that's why Ronnie wasn't as broken up as I expected him to be, he got it out if his system ahead of time?

I would say it's very common. Not speaking from experience.
I think CW will get harassed on a regular basis, but likely won't start trouble himself, since he has always avoided confrontation. In one of the logs from the guards it said that when he was walked down the hall the inmates were booing him and it was really loud and he just ignored them. He had better keep up his pushups!

I think so too and IMO he’ll keep to himself.

I have seen comments related to statements made by Trinkets (?) that don’t add up now that we are seeing discovery. I did try to look through old posts to find what was said but there are so many and I can’t keep up! Would someone mind recapping those for me? I’m just being nosy :)

I did sense some jealousy but also some feeling that she was going o do it better, that she unlike CW's wife was not a spendthrift (though in reality I think CW was the spendthrift! If NK was worried for his finances, why did she let him pay for EVERYTHING?). I think she believed she was better for CW, that she would be a cool stepmom and get the kids more into nature and less into the superficial lifestyle she sounded judge about. So I think we are all projecting what we see based on our own world-views, and IMO she was not as jealous or desirous of the actual lifestyle she saw in that big house. She was intimidated IMO, and did see a beautiful family, but she believed CW and saw them as better matched. MOO.
Yes, she seemed very critical of their lifestyle and couldn't believe they lived way above their means. I think she considered herself to be more responsible and more realistic about spending money. I don't think she wanted that kind of lifestyle at all.
Naturally Chris blamed the spending on his wife.

Another thing I noticed was how he complained about his marriage and how he had been unhappy for so long. He told her that he didn't like the way Shanann portrayed their life on line, and was tired of having to live a lie.
Kind of ironic since that's what he has been doing all his life. Imo

I agree with your thinking though, that a stripped mattress in the basement on the 12th, would be indicative of the kids already being dead.
What do you think happened in the basement bedroom that he had to strip that bed?

We don’t know that he did strip that bed. NK commented on the mattress color, but didn’t say if that bed was in fact stripped.

It’s open for interpretation.

I TOTALLY AGREE. Also, I heard Dad say 'you really think this is going to work?'

paraphrasing from memory:

CW:

I don’t want to protect her…I don’t know what else to say…I don't want to protect her...

Dad:

So she started to hurt the kids?

CW:

Yes….I came back up and they were gone…

… more whispering…

Dad:

You really think this is going to work?

Don’t know if anyone posted.

New videos, documents released by prosecutors in Watts case

There are videos of police searching the home

Body cam.

This morning I saw a news video online and at the end it showed short clips from LE's body cam during what appeared to be the initial visit to the house prompted by NUA. It showed CW stepping into a room and checking it, seemingly frantic. I'd like to see those body cam videos as they walked through the house looking for SW and the girls.

IMO he wanted to start anew with his mistress. And start that new life debt free. He did have life insurance policies that he would have received payout on. And the sale of the house etc. No more medical bills. No child support. I just think he wanted out of all of it.

I think so too. There was a fairly good amount of life insurance and in his mind, he probably thought the life insurance company would just write him a check - take his word for it that he had nothing to do with their disappearance and that they were all dead.

This man is a complete idiot, in every respect. A missing person is not considered to be deceased in the life insurance world. It takes years to have a missing person declared legally dead.

In order to collect, their bodies would have needed to be discovered and he would have then needed to be cleared by LE. That was never going to happen, either.

He's an idiot - a special kind of idiot. And tragically, the people who loved him most paid the price for his idiocy. To think he had the power to totally break Shanann's heart and spirit in the weeks before he murdered her, and that his little girls called him "daddy", and loved him and trusted him makes me feel ill.

He deserved none of that power, and he abused it in the worst way imaginable.

I know some REALLY want to make the disgust about NK about sexism. It's just not. IMO. People have been criticizing CW's speech from day one. Relentlessly. Is that because of sexism against him?

Men have vocal fry and upseak too and it drives me crazy.

But other than being annoyed, I don't give a damn about her voice. I give a damn about her inflection, arrogance, evasivessness, self-centeredness and overall lack of empathy in the context of a major crime investigation.

I wish people would please stop accusing others of being sexist because they do not like this woman or condone her actions. To me it's a disingenuous way of trying to undermine other's opinions of this woman. We disagree. That's okay. It's not like people are creating scenarios or making things up about this woman out of left field based on nothing but innuendo and rumor, like was done with Shannan. Then I might question the motives. But here I think there are solid bases for the disdain, even though people can have different views about it. No need to continually accuse people of sexism to prove their opinions are wrong here.

I find it offensive.
I love this, Gitana!
I tried articulating this thought and failed, but you were able to express it succinctly and elegantly.
We're disgusted by NK's behavior, and although her voice is annoying its not the reason why so many are appalled by her.

I thought I remembered a note in the discovery by a police officer that stated the house reaked of cleaning products when he/she first walked in. NK also mentioned that when she facetimed with CW, he was talking about cleaning the house and washing sheets. Are the washer and dryer in the basement? Maybe blood or other bodily fluids from the beds as well as the clothes he wore during and after he killed them all were taken down there for whatever reason?

I thought she described them as being blue, which made me think they were the blue striped set that he used the fitted sheet to wrap his wife. And he was sitting on the bed with the other sheet visable. Imo

I don't get it and it doesn't sit right with me. I don't think she deserved to have all that splattered everywhere, especially after LE assured her of some degree of confidentiality. When all is said and done, I think she does not deserve to be trashed like this, and exposed and humiliated. I am not a fan of hers, but I don't believe she did anything to deserve this. She was a foolish woman having an affair with a lying moron. Both were lovesick and rather caddish but only one was a murderer, only one was breaking a vow, only one did monstrous things. NK doesn't deserve this, it isn't right. And it certainly makes one feel that however innocent one is, best not to cooperate without a lawyer. This exposure feels like a betrayal by LE. And I actually think that even with her vocal fry and tics I find annoying, she DOES seem credible. I DO think she deleted things for the reasons she says, and not to impede an investigation.

If it had gone to trial we would not have seen much of it. Like her internet searches would likely not be relevant. The naked photos she sent would be relevant though. It all goes to his motive. He was engaged in a hot and heavy affair.

And that's not the prosecution's fault. It's hers. Like my dad always told me- never take a nude photo and don't allow others to take one unless you don't mind it being published. It will get out somehow some way. He told me that starting at age 14 or so.

In any event had there been trial the media would've been saturated with what came out at trial and would have been unlikely to request everything after the fact. And before trial concluded they didn't have a right to getting those docs.

So CW really screwed NK over with his plea, in a sense.

But since there was a plea, ALL evidence was available for release if requested. Because it was all info discovered during an investigation. They had to make sure NK wasn't involved and back up her statments and time line. It was crucial stuff.

And frankly, given her conduct during the interview and in deleting stuff they had to really dig to make sure she wasn't part of the crime itself, IMO. Hence, some of the editorial about her creepy laugh and specifics about her searching for Amber Frey's net worth, make mor sense. It seems that early on they worried she could end up being a suspect.

Regardless, they have to have very specific reasons for redactions and "witness feels embarrassed" doesn't qualify.

The only way to stop it would've been for her to get an attorney to file a motion to seal the record. But she didn't know what they had. And it all was released very quickly because this is a high profile case and the public interest was paramount.

And I agree with whoever said it wasn't selective. Poor Shannan's deepest thoughts and most private discussions were revealed for all to see. As well as nasty comments by various people.

It's not a betrayal. It's not against the law. If someone wants to avoid something like this don't carry on with a married person, because stuff can and will happen. Not necessarily murder but sometimes even murder, as we have seen. More often though the spouse can find out or the cheater can confess to the spouse and everything you sent to the affair can be exposed.

Also, LE would've gotten EVERYTHING regardless as to whether she allowed access voluntarily or not. So stomping one's feet and refusing to cooperate because a person feels their rights to privacy are more important than a child's safety, won't accomplish anything but making them more hated when it all comes out.

Finally, the thought that anyone would feel they don't want to help LE in their investigation into the murders or disappearance of two babies because of the fear of being "betrayed" by investigators, makes me feel kind of horrified and sick.

This isn't about you or me or our feelings or shame or reputation. It's about innocent childrens' lives.

There just has to be a line somewhere, where lives of innocents are more important than our personal feelings.

My two cents.

Yes, and that one of the reasons why I think that he may have killed them earlier. SW was a fanatic about keeping the home clean and fresh and there is no way that she would have left the girl's bed linen dirty and smelly unless he did something to make them that way.

Yes, there was the smell of cleaning supplies and newly vacuumed carpets.

I imagine at least Bella must have bled.

I'm not sure where the washer dryer are in the house.

Agree and even if it were fact she is already suffering consequences for trying to deceive the public and LE.
She will only suffer the consequences if she doesn't sign a million dollar contract for a book.

The big difference between NK and Amber Frey is that this case was over in just a few months. Scott Peterson went to trial and has been in the media for years and years. I am sure other tragic events are right around the corner and people will forget NK's name. Had this gone to trial it would have been a circus for years. The new information that has been released will be viewed, discussed, and then there will not be anything left to see unless CW's family and/or NK keep themselves in the media. I am hoping everything just dies down and that Shanann's family can get some peace, begin to heal and grieve. And maybe Frankie will give his parents some more grandchildren one day. They have so much love to give and I wish them all good things. IMO
