I know this would never happen, but the investigators could have screwed with Chris by saying "Good news, we found Shanann and the girls and they're alive and well!"

Just to see what his reaction would be.
I know that sounds bad, but it would have been an interesting way to gauge his reaction to finding his missing family.

LOLOLOLOL! I would have LOVED to see the look on his face!

Don't throw tomatoes at me, but I want them to keep him safe 1) just on the off chance (doubtful, I know) that he will someday reveal what really happened and why, and 2) I want to see a study of his psychological makeup as it relates to other known family annihilators. There is more to be learned. MOO

I also have no problem with him knowing his life is in constant danger and having to live with constant fear.
Even if it means he is in solitary and never having further regular human contact.

I don’t mind that he now lives in CONSTANT FEAR

For me the most interesting video is of the basement

Watts has a very nice, big home, yet moves out to live in his own basement which does not even have internal cladding?

IMO quite an interesting insight into his personality
I still think the affair happened earlier than June. I think he may have had a burner phone and began using his real phone when SW went to NC and he found out about the calculator app. He chose the basement for privacy. I wonder if SW didn't want him running after work because something seemed fishy about it to her. Just pondering.

I don’t reach the same conclusion. I don’t think she was that invested in him. Thinking about it, yes, but she realized he came with a lot of baggage, and she was considering whether or not to take it on. Then the murders happened.
Did you see any evidence in the discovery that she was encouraging CW to work on his marriage? MOO

I considered the possibility that it was just an extraordinary coincidence that she spent two hours searching for wedding dresses, but it doesn't seem at all likely when you factor in the searches before and after that.

7/24/2018 - searched Google for "Man I'm having an affair with says he will leave his wife"

8/4/2018 – for over two hours, searched Google for "wedding dresses"

8/4/2018 - Google search for Chris and Shanann's Facebook accounts

8/8/2018 - Googled topics related to "marrying your mistress”

When you put all of that together, she expects/wants him to divorce his wife and marry her, which is a direct contradiction of her claims that she was encouraging him to work things out with Shanann. It is all right there in black and white. MOO
I agree. This was a hot affair....not casual. He was telling NK he was divorcing his wife. Once SW was gone, NK told him to pawn the wedding rings. IMO there is no way she was expecting, encouraging or wanting CW to try to work it out with his wife. They were both planning on an ongoing relationship, hot and heavy. imo.

I am listening to the second interview with MK. I am floored with this woman, if I can call her that.

I was gobsmacked at so many things that she said and then when she said to her best friend, after her father I just died died saying "Being mad at me won't bring your dad back"

WTF!!!!

I'm struck by her lack of emotion actually. I thought this was a heavy love affair but I don't see signs of her grieving its loss, even if it's only loss of what she thought she had. Still a loss, if you were actually in so deep you were very recently contemplating marriage and kids with the guy. I don't see her untangling or readjusting. I think tears are what I'm expecting, but not the crocodile variety. It makes me think it was all just dispensable. Bit of a similarity there with CW.

Do we have any evidence of her showing this was a heavy love affair for her?

I get the idea she liked the sex, and wanted to get married. I don’t really pick up a real soulmate vibe from her. I think he fit some of her lifestyle husband characteristics. But not a whole lot more than that

I was thinking maybe she DID say it to see if he would. Knowing he was going to N.C. and Shanann was going to be there too, NK might have been jealous or insecure about their relationship (as she should have been) and said it in hopes to be reassured with Chris saying something like “no it will never work it’s not going to happen”

I had seen him referenced as the "guy" on the couch about 10posts after NK was discovered. They don't play on here.

I noticed in her 2nd interview [47:39 minutes in] she says she has a one-bed apartment. He must've been sleeping on the couch.

Oh my goodness, the neighbor with the surveillance video. I love him. He knows what's up and he isn't buying a damn thing from Chris. I'm so grateful he had that camera. Just another thing that blew Chris's story out of the water.
Can you please post this vid or just point me to the info thread. I'm so scared to leave here and not find my way back. Lol newbie blues

When CW confessed to his Dad, he said,”Rage, it was the rage,” or something close to that, like rage is an understandable excuse for strangling your wife. I think he was telling the truth, there. The way he said it. He felt uncontrollable rage toward Shanann. She had to have pushed a button in him, and I wonder what she said.

He ACTUALLY pulled RAGE out of NOWHERE! Go back and watch and post if you can. I know I made a mental note of it because after i had seen that a person posted saying he and his dad seemed to be rehearsing which story they were going with in the interrogation room and I could not have agreed more.. like an extended conversation from the ride.

I am learning that now with this case. And here I thought it was all like Dragnet, just the facts ma'am.

Many years ago, a family member of mine was a homicide detective in a big city. In the cases where the suspect was someone close to the victim, he would go into an interrogation and he would tell the suspect they were a good person, they made a mistake, they had a conscience and they would feel a whole lot better once they got it off their chest. Then he waited for the confession. He had a lot of luck and this was in the 1960's - 1970's, so it's not a new technique.

The investigators with CBI were excellent, IMO. They double teamed him perfectly. The female investigator was an iron fist in a velvet glove, JMO.

Thanks Pommy for letting me know how to find the videos.
The fact that he sent a photo to NK after dumping the bodies is horrifying. I just can’t even imagine how SW’s family feels about that. There are no words.

About NK. I think she lied to cover up the fact that she was aware he was married. I agree she is immature and the valley girl voice is terrible. However, I dont think she was in it. I think she did try to help and deserves a break. It all comes to inmate Watts. HE is the murderer. HE is the monster. It could have been any other mistress or man or hookup or any reason to kills them. It’s not like he fell out of love in 5 weeks while having an affair. He is a monster and he had been harboring dark secrets for a while. I can tell by all of the videos and documents that he was very passive aggressive and abusive in a silent, manipulative way.

I just assumed it was a two way thing - for him to kill his family she likely made him feel he was the one for her. I don't think I've read one message from her to him, so it's all circumstantial evidence, searches about men marrying their mistresses and her stalking of Shanann.

Did you see any evidence in the discovery that she was encouraging CW to work on his marriage? MOO
I think NK was a smart girl. Doing everything you can to try to fix your marriage before you end it is wise advice. She was playing it out. I don’t see the world in black and white. I think she could have meant that when she said it, but I also think with everything he told her, she thought it was 90% over, 10% chance of reconciliation. So, I can see how she could send nude photos, too. If CW told her he wanted to go back to Shanann, NK would have walked away. She doesn’t strike me as the type of woman who will die without a man. She seems pretty independent to me.

It's ironic that she says "I'm so ashamed of him" but doesn't say that she's ashamed of herself.
There is a pause between the words "so ashamed" and "of him" that made me think she was about to admit her shame, but then thought better of it, because why should SHE be ashamed, she doesn't want to admit to ANY wrong doing at all. I think the shame is that she knew damn well he was married, and also "addicted" to her as he kept saying, and she was manipulating him to leave his wife already-- very impatient-- which leads one to believe the relationship was long than 5 or 6 weeks. She seemed very frustrated that he was still living in the house with his family and her devotion to finding him a place was because she wanted him to move out already, not because she is the incredibly helpful, magnanimous person she likes to portray herself as. I do see a self-serving, arrogant, confused, whiny, supercilious woman who got herself in a bigger mess than she could have imagined. Someone (sorry I cannot remember who!) had a spot on interpretation of his letter to her promising "firsts" -- she was admittedly complaining that he had already done all these things. Well idiot inmate CW seems to have not realized that killing your family doesn't undo that you still had firsts with the person you married, that the children you smothered and dumped in oil will always be your first children -- and now because of his evil actions, last children. I think he's a sick man and it was just the wrong combination of personalities in a toxic sex-addicted needy faux-love embrace of ego and pathology, and though it is not her fault that the sick-o wads a murderer of the family in their way, how can there not be shame? It slipped out. Then the pause. MOO IMO
