I have a question for everyone. I know we have all referred to his plan being botched due to the late arrival of SW and Nicole's call to the police after becoming concerned. But what do you think would be different if he had more time?

I've gone over this is my head and the only thing I can see being different is that he may have removed SWs phone and handbag to look like she left and potentially tidied the house up more.

However I still think his plan was to dump their bodies in the oil field, which his work truck GPS would have tracked him to.. And surely he can't think for a minute LE wouldn't look there given he is the spouse of the missing person, so is naturally the primary suspect. Perhaps if he managed to get all three bodies in the oil tanks they never would have suspected they were in there? But he wouldn't have had enough time for that.

If he left for work earlier in the morning, or left in the night with the Lexus, people would be suspicious? But the police would still have checked him out in full, and found out about the affair and anything else he has done.

What are people's thoughts on this? I have full admiration for Nicole and Nicholas who were amazing in my opinion for getting LE involved and for getting them to take it seriously asap.

It is so interesting watching and listening to the recordings of various people. There's a very clear distinction between those willing to do anything to help, stick to the facts of the case and offer any knowledge, access to phones, surveillance etc they had, versus those who didn't and were caught up in self obsessed numbingly ridiculous things that had no relevance to the case. Unbelievably astounding.
Exactly. Leeds one to wonder why? Why exactly the fight to keep texts being seen? Why be the one hold out? Why make it so difficult for investigators?
This isn't a childhood game of hot,and cold.

How realistic is it to smother with bare hands? Maybe a plastic bag? This hurts to even write. :(
I wouldn’t think you’d want to do that, in case the person bites you. Or the teeth leave marks on your skin.

whoa, isn't that where Steven Avery (of Making a Murdered fame) is? I'm pretty sure!
(Clearly, all I do is follow crime cases haha!)

yea, Avery was in Waupun. Idk if he’s been transferred.
Bet this place was chosen bc they have a lot of single cells.
He’s probably lucky (if this is his new home) because it’s much nicer than many prisons. And, we already know he likes nice things. (I, too, follow all cases).

Columbia Correctional Institution. It is a max facility. Where Dahmer was.

True, I think I’m just wishful thinking that he has regrets, should I say remorse. I’ve always been interested in true crime and have followed cases on WS in the past but none have affected me like this case. Probably because my youngest child is five and so close in age to Bella and Cece and just because I’m a parent and could never imagine deliberately hurting my children. Bella and Cece should be getting excited about Christmas right now, not buried feet below ground. I despise him and would love to send him some hate mail.

You can write to him but you must use a home address. So not a great idea to have your address floating around the prison. I’m sure he’ll get a lot of love & hate mail.

I think it's weird that a lot of the things he said in reference to his kids were things that aren't necessarily positive. Calling one a "rampage", talking about them not finishing dinner, having nuggets thrown at him, etc. I've been in the situation where I've been super worried about my kids, or I've been talking about my dead child, and almost by instinct I go straight to the GOOD stuff: their laughs, the cute things they say, the way they snuggle when they sleep, etc. It was odd, to me, that he went straight into the disciplinary memories.

Yes I think this speaks to how he thought of them, as a burden / hassle / PITA.

I don't think we'll ever understand his stupid thought process, but I do think he planned to abandon her car, purse, etc. later that day.
So if her abandoned car was found after he reported her missing, he probably thought they wouldn't look at his job site.
He also thought that if his spiteful family viewed him as a victim of his 'shady' wife who took his 'beloved' daughters, then everyone else would as well.
MOO

Probably oversimplifying here, but how many cases on WS's can we say this about?:
(Fill in the blank)_________ just wasn't smart and didn't realize that LE would do a thorough investigation and verify everything.

The State of Colorado vs Chris Watts

This video is pretty interesting. Looks like he is dragging SW’s body.

Shorter slowed down version of CW.
Light shining on face from garage lights means he was walking backwards, looking like he is stuggling with dragging something.
*Better viewed full size screen*

Wow! Had totally missed that thank you very much, I see it

Wow.

You can feel the tension CW has for NUA calling the cops, moo.

The officer definitely felt something was suspicious from the start imo-“this is an odd situation”.

You guys likely covered this already, I’m still waaay behind, but wondering why the delay to get to the house—-what was CW doing? Disposing of evidence? Cleaning the car?
From what I recall, I think he was still at work and just trying to put everyone off from calling the police. I think as soon as he heard they were there and trying to get in the house, he booked it home as fast as he could. But, I am not positive on that timeline and my brain i turning to mush on this case.

But then when he gets there he doesn’t even search the house, LE has to ask him to go upstairs and look
And in NK's interview, she mentioned that he was basically venting to her about how NUA and her son were running through his house and up and down stairs.

You can write to him but you must use a home address. So not a great idea to have your address floating around the prison. I’m sure he’ll get a lot of love & hate mail.
Or we will be reading your published hate mail on here! ;)

Do you guys think the images of CW killing and disposing of his family will haunt him? I have a hard time keeping them out of my brain and I wasn't there.

Doubtful.
Was it ever disclosed what Rx he was taking in county lockup?
I believe I read on the CO report “inmate Watts reused his meds tonight”.

Is he in Columbia?
Waupun was my first thought but Columbia is very near Waupun. I remember during the Avery case there was discussion about Waupun having more single cells than most prisons.
I grew up in WI but live elsewhere now.
Wonder if Ron & Cindy are surfing looking for a deal on tickets.

I don’t mind, I’m in a different country. I may just do it one day.

He had absolutely no idea how to act or what to say in being a concerned spouse. No clue.

Actually a local church group in my town writes to a lot of lwops. Inspirational letters and the inmate generally writes back.

Ever wonder what a maximum-security prison is like? Read on

On a serious note, I would have a few choice words to write to him but it would be good to gain his confidence enough, in the hopes of him opening up and admitting exactly how it all unfolded and most importantly why ?.

You 'rush' home worried that your wife has 'disappeared'... you don't hurry into the house screaming her name or looking in a frenzy. You just stroll into the kitchen area while still glancing at your phone every couple of seconds. Goodness
