Stupid stupid man, he had everything, a beautiful wife, beautiful kids, a beautiful house and a decent enough job. I wonder what he’s doing in his cell right now, I wonder if he’s thinking of SW, Bella and Cece. I wonder if he even registers the enormity of what he’s done and everything he’s lost.

At least, he has a new life... that was everything he wanted, right? :D
So, always be careful what you wish for - you might get it!

If CW doesn’t take his own life, I don’t think his life in prison will be that difficult for him. He’ll spend his time watching tv, reading, corresponding with his new loves, maybe do some craft projects. There’s not a lot of programs for LWOPs, it’s not like they need rehabilitation.
If he’s in a facility where he’s required to work, he’ll have a job away from other inmates. Like cleaning an enclosed area, offices or restrooms. After everyone else in his pod is in, he’s let out to work.
Most of these guys adapt easily, they have no choice.
One day he may even be in GP in a pod with men serving for similar crimes. There’s no shortage of men that killed a spouse, gf, kid.
I’d love to see him in Corcoran (sp) in CA.

I thought the same, except that then later in the video, he radios in that this is a medical case and that Shanann has diabetes. I think he thought they'd find her collapsed somewhere. If he thought it was suspicious, wouldn't he have asked for backup? I found it interesting that police don't seem to go in pairs there, that he was completely alone. Although he had NUA and NUA's son with him when they went inside I guess.

The Frederick/Firestone/Dacono area is small, so I would be surprised if they ever really send police in pairs anywhere unless it is a call regarding violence of some sort. Especially since this just started out as a wellness check.

On the financial pressures - I must say I have culture clash here

1. Why do they have such a huuuuge house? The loan on it must be quite big - but more than they need. But I get the house was likely a good investment in current market with low interest rates

2. But also it is poor construction quality

3. They own so much junk. I mean it is really incredible how much clothes, big box furniture etc etc they appear to have

No wonder they are delinquent on mortgage and maxed on credit cards

Watts earned at most 70k right?

So after Tax how much net income per month does he really have after schools, mortgage, credit cards, living costs?

I would say they were underwater

Then looking at SW - how much genuine free cash flow did she have?

So in terms of motive...

Loose all the overhead, cash out the equity in the house.

Bingo

I have a question for everyone. I know we have all referred to his plan being botched due to the late arrival of SW and Nicole's call to the police after becoming concerned. But what do you think would be different if he had more time?

I've gone over this is my head and the only thing I can see being different is that he may have removed SWs phone and handbag to look like she left and potentially tidied the house up more.

However I still think his plan was to dump their bodies in the oil field, which his work truck GPS would have tracked him to.. And surely he can't think for a minute LE wouldn't look there given he is the spouse of the missing person, so is naturally the primary suspect. Perhaps if he managed to get all three bodies in the oil tanks they never would have suspected they were in there? But he wouldn't have had enough time for that.

If he left for work earlier in the morning, or left in the night with the Lexus, people would be suspicious? But the police would still have checked him out in full, and found out about the affair and anything else he has done.

What are people's thoughts on this? I have full admiration for Nicole and Nicholas who were amazing in my opinion for getting LE involved and for getting them to take it seriously asap.

It is so interesting watching and listening to the recordings of various people. There's a very clear distinction between those willing to do anything to help, stick to the facts of the case and offer any knowledge, access to phones, surveillance etc they had, versus those who didn't and were caught up in self obsessed numbingly ridiculous things that had no relevance to the case. Unbelievably astounding.

Per NK, He wanted a simpler life. Check!

100% he now has one, no financial problems, no pesty kids, no nagging wife. No mortgage payments, no late HOA dues, no more bankruptcies, no more taking 'those kids' to birthday parties, no more hiding nuts, no more Mommy and SW fights, no more all that medication for the kids, no more in-law's living with him for 15 months when SW had babies, no more SW illness and surgeries. No more not parking in the driveway because his truck could wake the girls, no more rain machines, just no more ... he was done.

I don't think he is going to last long in any prison he goes to...not this guy. The girls...the oil tanks...he's toast.

AND SW returned from NC with the children on Aug 7, probably late in the day.

So he had already started to formulate a “fix it” plan when they were in NC

I agree. He was premeditating it at least a week in advance. I also tend to think he had thought about murdering SW and the girls before they went to NC. But perhaps he didn't fully commit to the crime until the week before when he started doing these things to appear to be "fixing things". I think some key things that NK may have said to CW in the weeks leading up to the crime could have solidified in his mind he had a future with her and that he had to get rid of his family to have that. I don't think NK was in on the plan but she figured into it in his mind.

And as much as NK tries to claim she never made any comments about his kids being a problem she does admit that she told him a few times to "go be with his kids" instead of spending time with her. If she really said that it could have put an idea in CW's mind that if he got rid of the children he could spend more time with NK. And she was also telling him about how he should have a 3 bedroom for the girls but since he couldn't afford a 3 bedroom apt she started telling him how he could get by with bunkbeds in a 2 bedroom. She told him how hard divorces are on kids too. He likely didn't want to have to do all that. He thought it was better to murder his family than to make his kids share a room and split their time between him and SW. And he didn't want to have to spend his weekends with his children instead of spending time with NK. So he "fixed" that problem too. Selfish doesn't begin to describe CW. JMO.

Every chance they get they bash Shannan, every time it comes back at them. Like spit in the wind.

The Watts family are now certainly drowning, through their actions which are all being revealed.
What more will we hear?

I so agree with first paragraph! And no more Thrive. He hated his life. Dating NK provided fresh air (his last).
I think he viewed S as someone that ****** his life up.
He probably blames her for his current situation.

As far as prison, it’s doubtful he’s going to be around other inmates right away. If he’s out in a populated area and someone goes after him. It could get huge with staff and inmates injured or killed.

I was just reading this on my other tablet! Well mystery solved.

On another note anyone know how far S & C parents live from each other? Curious to know if they’ll ever bump into each other.
I think I read they live 45 min away, but not positive

Given his thoughts are disturbed it is likely he had some of this thinking. Quite often annihilators think they are doing their families a favor by murdering them. It would not suprise me if somewhere in his disturbed consciousness he thought he was doing the best thing by SW, as she didn't want a divorce and couldn't afford to live on his own with two kids. However the underlying thought and intent behind those thoughts is obviously incredibly self serving, selfish and narcassistic. Eg they need me and can't live without me and I don't want them anymore.

Then add in his absolute need to protect his nice guy image at all costs and bingo there's no way he can abandon a pregnant wife and two kids... A major recipe for disaster

The videos of a murderer (before arrested) are fascinating to me. Watching his demeanor, actions, words, etc.
Just amazing to see... rarely is such stuff available in these high profile cases.
We are lucky to have this stuff in this day and age (video, electronic trails, etc.). Amazing though to see him sit or atNd there and blatantly lie.

I just want to give NUA a big hug.

Same. In the video when she realized SW's phone was found in the house, you could see and hear her panic go up a thousand notches. She seemed to want to break down right then but held it in. She knew right then for sure.

Why do some think it was only Shanann that did the over spending and Chris was not on board with it? He sure didn’t shut the spending down if he was so upset with it.

Could it be possible that NK, after weeks of CW dawdling about selling the house (a real sign that the separation was moving forward), made an ultimatum after the NC trip? Something like "if I drive by your house on Monday and see your wife and kids there, we are done. I am not playing games anymore."

She mentioned in her interviews that she felt like it was taking a long time for him to put the house on the market. Perhaps she is afraid to mention these kinds of things because she doesn't like the way it looks. She wasn't directly responsible but doesn't want to he perceived as triggering his actions.
