He didn't seem to get it. After he told him about her hurting the kids and he asked if he meant "Like chokin em?" he asked him if she left with the girls after that.
He knew that they were 'choked'. His son told him in the car that that is how they died, and who did it. His father would have understood that evil SW made him kill her and her children. They hated her with a passion that was obscene. MOO.

Do we know if CW had any legitimate friends of his own? SW was surrounded by people that seemed to genuinely care for and love her while CA also appeared to be surrounded by people yet no one was truly close to him. Maybe that was why he thought he could get away with this. In his sociopathic mind, he didn’t connect that people would actually start looking for SW immediately because he can’t fathom what it’s like to truly care for another individual in a manor that is not self-seeking. He honestly seems void of any human emotion at all.

Chris' childhood "best friend" was interviewed. They had kept in touch but weren't overly close anymore, as happens when friends grow up, move away and start families. The friend said he never witnessed abnormal behavior from Chris and that Shan'ann was always friendly and nice - he visited them when they were in San Diego and said they seemed happy. He said the Watts family frequently told him Shan'ann was 'shady' and they didn't trust her, but he never personally saw any reason for their lack of trust. What stood out to me in this interview was that after 'Nutgate', Cindy Watts called him (her grown-up son's friend!) and told him she was worried about losing Chris because of what Shan'ann had done!!! What kind of mother involves her adult son's friend in an argument with a DIL? Especially a friend Chris was not very close to anymore. Talk about overstepping boundaries!- it seems all Cindy cared about was sneakily making sure everyone she could contact was on her 'side'. The friend said he reached out to Chris and Chris texted back and said something like he had finally seen the real side of Shan'ann. This was a short interview, not much discussed, but I thought it spoke volumes about the Watts family dynamic

And just as a thought, if NK had actually been somehow aware of or involved in these murders, it's more likely the stupid mistakes would not have happened.

CW just seems more like a follower, not the leader

Disclaimer: I'm only playing Devil's Advocate here, thinking of how all this transpired. I'm not accusing her of being directly involved

We don't know her. The person they interviewed was already different from the one my imagination.

Logically speaking, Chris seemed to be obsessed with NK, her big goal, I still believe, was getting married and having a family. She might have foreseen that a scandal at Andarko would at least be not advantageous to her, financially, but then, how smart she really is? She seemed surprised and angry that Andarko fired her. To me, it seemed obvious they'd do it.
So if the can not foresee the consequences, maybe, not too smart?

But she was not a naive young girl. Surely she knows that men say that kind of thing about wives that they are cheating on.
I'm sure she knows that now.

Some of us have a harder time wrapping our heads around this. It is so inconceivable to me that he could do this to his little girls. A wife I can understand. Little children? Not yet for me.
Remember Jodi Arias wrote in her journal that she wished she could stop loving Travis and that she wished she could turn it off like a light switch? Just cut the circuit? And she did that by stabbing him 30 times?

We, normal people don't possess such light switches. But like Arias, CW was able to just turn his switch off.

I don't understand it myself. After almost 4 months, I still get chills up my spine when I think of him carrying lifeless little bodies up the stairs of oil tanks.

To me, ragging on him is of no use, I am only interested in why someone would do this so as a society we can address this.

A couple of years ago, a woman that I knew for forty years turned out to not be who anyone thought she was. She moved around a lot and came back and visited “friends” over the years. She got jobs all over the country in the medical field and would visit between jobs.

The shock took me several months to process .

I don’t know if I will ever process that someone can kill their little children.
Because you are human?

But he was part of that FaceTime. I think her kids would have been more honest with her then grandad jmo

Possibly. I'm just not sure it would make sense for CW to start being mean to the girls that weekend. If he was "mean to them" before murdering them he didn't have much time to do that-- they were with a sitter Saturday night, went to a birthday party on Sunday and talked to SW's parents on phone shortly after that. I think he probably acted the same as he always did with them right up until he smothered them to death. JMO.

Of course, we don't know how he acted when there were no other adults-- He said something curious about never letting the girls facetime SW when she was traveling for business. If true, that seems to indicate the girls would tell on him if he was being mean in any way. But like everything he says-- I don't trust that statement about facetime. It doesn't make sense SW wouldn't want to see her girls. Unless we have that same info coming from another source it makes me think CW was simply being cruel when he didn't allow the girls to facetime with Shanann one last time. He also didn't allow his parents to facetime and blamed that on SW. It's yet another thing where his actions and his given explanations for his actions don't make a lick of sense. MOO.

I thought it was very interesting that 4 1/2 year old, Bella, didn’t want anything to do with CW when they were in North Carolina. I know toddlers often have mommy attachments, but have you come across 4 1/2 year olds rejecting their fathers? Is that normal? Or a sign that something might be wrong?
What is your source for this? From what I recall - both girls were over excited to see and greet CW that they even penetrated security at the NC airport. TIA

I remember that part when he said he was going back up to talk to her again. Maybe "back up to talk to her" sounded like "get to talk to her." He was mumbling and speaking very low.
Yes, that could very well be... diction like a mouthful of marbles on the Watts side, and maybe hearing like an earful of cotton balls on my side.

Has anyone found a transcript of Ronnie Watt's interviews? Or a video that has decent subtitles? I have tried listening a few times and I can't understand nor hear a thing he says. He mumbles so much and youtube closed captioning is almost pointless to have turned on. Those are about the only videos I haven't made it through.

This was my thought as well as soon as @IAMWAN mentioned hopping back and forth between 85 and 52 I immediately thought aobut that, too. I am on the opposite side of Denver from Frederick and Erie, but very familiar with doing the side road shuffle and hopping onto frontage roads to avoid 25 during rush hour.

In addition to being prime construction season, even the smallest accident can turn 25 into a parking lot. NK seems like the type that would obsess on the best and fastest way to get to work without being inconvenienced by traffic delays.

moo.
Logical. But if she is so obsessed to get to work as soon as possible, why call while driving? Unsafe and distracting. Not NK's style, it seems.

Good night everyone I'm going to take a break from this case cuz it's making me sick but just some food for thought you can say that everything was a normal new romance and then say his cheese was sliding off his cracker way before you met him at the same time?!?

  • #1,174
That really bothers me thinking about it. I'll bet that's why he didn't put the kids on the phone with SW while she was in AZ....because they might tell on him.
It was reported that not letting the girls talk to SW on the phone (and absolutely no facetime) was the norm according to CW because the girls allegedly would have a melt down (esp. Bella), leaving CW with distraught children that he was incapable of soothing. CW confirms this adding the no facetime comment in one of his LE interviews. MOO

Thank you for posting this! I thought it was my hearing! Lol!

Not only does he have a heavy accent and mumbles, but he puts his head down when he talks impeding the volume of his voice.

....making the hearing of the recording difficult...intentionally?

CW stated that he has a "doorbell camera." Does anyone know if that camera picked up anything? Or did CW do something to disable it? Or does that camera have very limited range? (I'm wondering if it may have picked up CW dragging something.)

Yes, he also said Shanann never FaceTimed with them when she was away because when she did try once they got very upset. Did any of her friends mention anything about her wanting to when she was on the trip? I don't remember.

That camera was forward facing. It likely didn’t cover the area in which he loaded the bodies.

He appears to have loaded them by going through the garage, which would make it impossible to see.

If it captured something, we would certainly know it.
