I actually Googled this.. Hope no one checks my search history. But apparently smells can happen in a matter of hours. Approx 3 hours and 45 min passed between the time SW arrived home from the airport to when CW left the house. That's not much time for the body to start releasing odors. He tells this story as if hours and hours passed.. They slept together. Then went to sleep.. Then woke up to argue.. Then he kills her and has to get ready for work and put her in the truck and bring the girls along all while Bella is questioning him and the dog probably running around and getting suspicious. I don't think all that went down in that time span. More than likely no argument and no last encounter.. And no rage, just premeditation. MOO

He denied ever knowing or meeting TB or AM (chick-fill-a woman) and claimed he was never interested in men.

Of course CW is a liar so we don't know if this was another one of his porkies.

I don't know if CW cheated on SW before his affair with NK, but what we do know is he was pudgy, unremarkable and appeared to have the sex appeal of a snail (in the video of him stammering about how to keep a marriage together).

He also admits in his interview that he wasn't popular in high school, although he wasn't bullied. He was just dull and forgettable, and girls didn't notice him. Shanann was his first real relationship.

Its only recently that he lost the weight, got fit and buff, and started taking care of his appearance, and with that I think he got more attention from women. He was obviously flattered by the attention and when NK came along and waggled her booty at him, he ran after her like a male dog. Ugh.

I'm just sick of him always playing the victim.
NK didn't just happen to start pursuing him in earnest the second his wife and kids went out of town, after having noticed him almost a year beforehand.
She wasn't biding her time like that.
He orchestrated the affair just like he planned the murders of his family after he became obsessed with her.

I think that is accurate. He was experiencing for the first time what most people have already felt many times in high school or college. He said at one time that he had never felt that way before in his life. It may have been the first time he felt wanted, appreciated, and loved for what he thought he really was.
It's such a shame. I keep thinking about the effect it had on Shanann when Chris told her he just wanted to be able to hang up a picture. It may have been the first time he actually communicated his needs to her. If only he was able to do this early on in their relationship.
I truly feel that if Shanann was aware of how unhappy he was, she would have been the perfect person to help him find himself. It's so sad that just when she was trying to save her marriage, planning on getting therapy, and sending her husband books about relationships, he was making up his mind that he was going to murder her.

I put my earphones in last night and laid on the couch and listened to five hours of testimony that left me feeling heartbroken, nauseous and in dire need of a shower.

I had read sometime back other opinions that Cc and B were alive when they left the house, but somehow could not believe it. To hear that they indeed were alive and made to sit in the back while their feet were touching the dead body of their Mother was absolutely shocking! CW was asked about the two black garbage bags found at the site, and he nonchalantly answered he put one on SW's head and one on her feet so the girls wouldn't be staring at her head and feet there on the floor under their feet (wasn't that considerate).

According to his empty soul, those two little girls sat in the back of that truck, while he dragged their Mother out and they waited while he buried her. I cannot imagine! Then, he came for them, one at a time. How long does it take for a little one to die as a result of smothering? I have no idea, but Bella waited and watched while her "hero" smothered her baby sister and watched in horror as he carried her up those steps and across the catwalk to the opening of the oil tank. As he described in the earlier police interview, he held them by their arms and dropped them in the oil. He opened the hatch of the tank at the far end first (he marked with "C" on the map at his earlier interview), as he knew he was going to dispose of them in separate tanks. BW was dropped through the oil tank closest to the stairs, as she was last (marked with a "B" on the map). He said in his latest interview that he hears BW's words every day, "Daddy, no!" He even mentioned her struggle as she fought to breathe.

I heard several things in this interview that I had not heard before. I'm sure others can remember things I did not pick up from his latest and greatest truth.

1. The two babies were killed at the Cervi site. Little BW's last cries.
2. He covered SW with a sheet and put her head and feet inside a black garbage bag.
3. Nicole (SW's best friend) was the one who called reporters and had them interview SW (amazing).
4. CW's mom is trying to get him out by saying the "LeVel" patches were to blame. If that doesn't work, she's got more ***** to throw at the wall by saying his attorneys were negligent in his defense.
5. NK knew he was married and had kids from the gitgo.
6. He hopes, in time, he can counsel and help others. How anyone could ever, under any circumstances, sit and listen to his experience and profit from it is beyond me.

I honestly watched several period dramas I have stored on my laptop afterwards (all the happy endings) to try and get the pictures of what he did out of my mind. This man is the stuff nightmares are made of, in my opinion.

He talks about finding God. God was never lost. I have read the Bible through several times, and I honestly can't find ANY stories that even come close to the horrific nightmare caused by this man toward his own family. I really hope this is the last we ever hear of this ***.

CW said no one should be defined by one moment of their life. I say, SW, NW, BW and CcW were, unfortunately, denied ALL the rest of their moments. What about them?

To be ignored, not worthy, insignificant, would have a great bearing on this evil 'attention seeker'.
Certainly CW WILL be defined by his horrific actions, what a freak to think otherwise.
All the innocents he murdered were denied further moments.

Where are you getting the info about dating sites or another affair at work? They found no evidence of him being on dating sites and could not substantiate the claims of the two supposed affairs. TB seemed to be a fame seeker and the other woman was messed up and couldn't quite recall.

They did ask him. They spent a bit of time on those issues. He denied being on dating sites or knowing the two people who claimed he dated them and they seemed to believe his answers.

On CNN special “Chris Watts: The True Confession”, Robi Ludwig (Psychtherapist) and Pat Lalama (Crime Journalist) both think we can’t believe him. He has an agenda— he’s enjoying the attention it has nothing to do with finding God or wanting to tell tne truth.

I’m reminded of the saying if a snake bites you once, shame on the snake. If it bites you twice shame on you. We know CW has told dozens of lies easily with a straight face. We know he doesn’t have a conscience. We know he’s been obsessed with what people think about him. IMO there’s absolutely nothing we know about him that would indicate he’s interested in telling the truth.

I think delving into what he said and did based on his interview is exactly what he wants. And taking what he says at face value is like believing a snake known to bite comstantly won’t bite this time. I for one believe some of what he said, think he’s lying and omitting other things. As I said we’ll never know if we know the truth. Occurs to me spending time trying to sort it out is giving him the attention he wants and won’t do a thing to bring Shanann, Bella, Cece or Nico back.

Thanks to everyone here for all your kind words and support. It’s helped more than you know. So this may sound strange and may be an unpopular view here at WS. Please know I’m not disparaging anyone here, but when it hit me today we’ll never know the truth and CW wants the attention, In my mind I could hear Shan’ann saying “stop dwelling on this and go do something spectacular with your life”. The cumulative number of hours/days all who’ve cared about SW and the girls have lost (whether they knew them or not) thinking about this idiot is incalculable. I’ll be back occassionally but I’m going to try to move on and Shine like Shan’ann instead.

This is just me. Not suggesting anyone else follow suit. Though I wouldn’t blame you if you did.

Most of us are here for other victims that haven't had the "answers" like here. Bodies that have not been found, no arrests made and nothing close to closure. I completely respect and understand someone close to Shan'ann not wanting to waste any more time or thoughts on this monster. If it were my loved one, I would absolutely feel the same way. Go live your life in honor of those 3 precious souls <3, we should all strive to "Shine like Shan'ann"!

Unless he sometimes did that in the mornings. But if he did pack them, I don’t believe it proves a lack of pre planning. He would be trying to make everything look normal, depending on how it would be staged. MOO

I really agree with your characterization of Chris. How he could tell the story (or commit the murders) of killing BW and CCW without agonizing grief is beyond anyone of us.

I cringed each time the detectives complimented Chris or his family. I hated it when they tried to put words in his mouth about SW being controlling among other things. Several times I wanted them to ‘shut-up’ and let Chris talk. Also I wish the 3 interviewers would have not asked leading questions and tried harder to get Chris to explain his version of the following lingering questions in my mind;

...what did SW do or say that made you put your hands around her neck and begin strangling? Chris admitted that in the past she had threatened to not let him see the kids but not this nite. My opinion is that he really didn’t want to admit to attacking his pregnant wife while she was sleeping. Sounds better to be an enraged killing than a cowardly act.

...why, why, why?? did you kill your kids? You had a 45 minute drive to get over any rage. Did you make the decision on what was going to happen to the kids on the drive over? My guess is Bella witnessed too much even if it was just wrapping Mommy up. She was so bright and would have told what she saw. BW had to go which meant precious little CW was just a casualty of the circumstances. No one would believe SW disappeared without taking both girls.

For the most part, or as much as Chris can, he is ‘softenly’ telling the truth. Chris still wants everyone to view him as a good guy. Yes he will be a model prisoner and try to portray prison is not that bad.

What a wonderful family and life this guy would have had. Sexual lust may be more powerful than we know in some people. Powerful enough to take over the love of his own children, commitment, compassion, and reasoning.
